Yes, you heard correctly:  Fridays are our FRIDAY FISH FRY  here in the DD/CS.  On the menu today:  cod, perch, halibut, and Rocky Mt. fresh trout, with cole slaw, hushpuppies, and fries, along with the onion slices and lemon wedges.  It will be served from NOW until about 10 p.m. EST.  That's when I close down the warmer bar, and clean everything up.

Everyone enjoy your lunch and your afternoon, and stay safe and sound!!

Morning/afternoon everyone.....

Not a lot of good news to report from Madison, WI.  I've got the next week off from work due to a lack of orders, might go job hunting anyways just to see what's out there.  At least I filed for unemployment, so I get some money out of the deal.

Parents sent me an aerial photo of a minor problem at the Racine County Fairgrounds, apparently our rabbit/poultry barn had a little fire this past week.  From the photo. looks like the building and contents inside were a total loss.  Not sure on the cause yet, will ask when I call home this weekend.

I'll take some fish, CW.  If Mookie comes near me with that infernal gun, it's gonna get ugly, I'm in no mood for that junk.Angry [:(!]Angry [:(!]Censored [censored]Censored [censored]

See everyone later.

Hey Brian, I know where you can get a really big piece of chocolate cake.  Evil [}:)]

Temps are just great around San Jose lately.  Expecting a high in the 60s today.  Clear skies.  Only a small breeze.  Pretty normal.

Morning All,

I came bearing gifts this morning! For our first resident Diner kitty, I've brought in a large chocolate cake. For our new Diner kitty, I went out and bought a large bag of her preferred Pounce "Caribbean Catch Crunchy treats!

Finally, for the cook, I've brought in some Rocky Mountain fresh trout for the Friday fish fry. I've already taken care of cleaning them and I started a nice big wood fire outside. If you could help me prep them with a little lemon, some bacon and some seasonings all we have to do is put them in some foil and throw them in the hot coals for awhile and it'll be some good eating!

C60AC, good to see you in here. Sorry I didn't bring any iguana treats with me. Will try to remember next time I go running for some goodlies. BTW, you'll want to mind the two rules about not miffing the cat or the cook. If you follow those rules (and keep the iguana from roaming around too much) you'll do well here!

Well all, have to be on my way. Hope you all have a great day and a great weekend if I don't see you before then!

TTFN!

Good Friday morning, everyone. 60ac, Sign - Welcome [#welcome] to the forums!  Getting more and more new people in here all the time!!  Love that!!  Everyone is always welcome here.

Dan, thanks for doing breakfast this morning!  Sorry I'm so late getting in this morning, but I had trouble sleeping last night.  Went to sleep for about an hour, woke up and couldn't go back to sleep.  I HATE NIGHTS LIKE THAT!  Guess it was probably 2 or 2:30, before I finally went to sleep and stayed asleep.  Finally woke up just before 9.

60ac, I guess the iguana in here is o.k., just keep a CLOSE eye on it.

Joe, guess you're getting what is supposed to reach us Sunday.  Not really looking forward to snow, but guess I'll just have to live with it.

Sweetie Pie seems to be starting to adjust to her new home.  Only problem is, she still hasn't taken to Sammy (our other cat) and she will not come down the steps, anywhere close to Win (resident doggie).  Gues she'll adjust in a few more days.  Need to go get her some cat toys and catnip.  She did play will the string, on a small ball of red yarn last night/this morning.  And we've discovered that she is ticklish, right under her chin.  You get her right in that spot, and she'll start nipping your hand, and pushing it away.

Guess that's about it for now; I'll be starting the lunch menu (FRIDAY FISH DAY) in about an hour.  Everyone have a great day, and stay, warm, dry and safe.

Sign - Welcome [#welcome] c60ac!  You'll like it here.  I'll leave it to others to explain the two big don'ts, LOL.

Today i'll throw a breakfast buffet on the warmer.  It's got eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, cereal, oatmeal, pancakes, waffles, corned beef hash, fresh fruit, milk, OJ, AJ, TJ, coffee plus a dessert section!  Yes you can have chocolate cake AFTER you eat your breakfast.  Back later!

Hey there, c60ac, Sign - Welcome [#welcome] to the diner.  Sit yourself down and have a good cup of coffee.  Iguanas are fine, as long as they get along with the other (wild) life around here.  Mischief [:-,]

If the cook doesn't know how to make something, she usually just asks for a recipe.  Other than that, she can (and will) make anything on request.

As a matter of fact, I do have the weather machine pointed your way. I wouldn't expect a ton of snow, but getting some of that ice melt probably wouldn't be a bad idea. I'll keep you up to date with the latest information tomorrow and Saturday.

Joe, I've got some cheeseburgers & fries ready for you to take to work tonight, along with 3 large orders of roast, taters, carrots, beans, and chocolate cake, all in the oven, ready and waiting for you.

Meanwhile, everything is warmed up, and on the warmer bar, for everyone's supper tonight.

It's looking like more snow for Omaha this weekend; probably Saturday night and early Sunday. It won't be a huge deal, but I think that 3 to 5 inches is a good possibility. There's never a dull moment in the weather department!

I think I'll have one of those cheeseburgers, some applesauce, and a slice of chocolate cake for lunch today. Thanks very much for the great food, CW.

Chris, you're very welcome!

For lunch and supper menus today, you will find:  FOR LUNCH:  burgers, cheeseburgers, fries, apple sauce, garden salad, and chocolate cake for lunch.

FOR SUPPER:  roast, potatoes, carrots, and shelly beans w/onions.  Also, chocolate cake on tonight's dessert menu.

Chris, not sure about Sweetie Pie liking chocolate cake yet, but do know that she loves the Pounce "Caribbean Catch Crunchy treats.  The lady at the Humane Society (located in one of the local Feeders Supply stores), said she really loves this particular kitty treats.  As a matter of fact, she gave me the bottle of the Pounce treats, to bring home with me.  It's two thirds empty (that way when the lady gave them to me.)

Morning All,

Well at least things seem to have quieted down a bit in here this morning! Thanks for the free supper last night CW!

Mutt, I like your gift! She's adorable! So, we know the other kitty prefers chocolate cake. Does Locokitty have a prefered food item to keep her happy? (These things are good to know...I always keep a stash of chocolate cake handy to appease the other kitty should the situation require it!)

Tree, sorry to hear about the truck. Oddly enough, I think I've only barely hit one rabbit (who hopped off and seemed to be OK) despite having spent ten years behind the wheel. I think that's an amazing bit of luck, especially considering some of the places I spend time at here.

Well all, must be on my way. Hope you have a great day!
