Willy - I may have to reach out and "touch" you - just a love tap you know.  Make it stop.  A 50 degree winter is not so bad!

CW - I feel like a brat...  I will leave it at that!

(Yummmm - and I can do corn, too!)

Well, I'm glad everyone is enjoying the nice brisk conditions I'm sending them! More of it coming for many locations, so keep on enjoying! Big Smile [:D]

CW - Lunch sounds very good to me. I'll have a couple of hot dogs and some corn on the cob.

Okay, let's see now.  How about something different for lunch today?  I've gotten a new, indoor large George Foreman Grill, and we'll have:  hot dogs, brats, burgers, grilled corn on the cob, and grilled onions, green peppers and red peppers (sweet variety), grilled "baked" potatoes.

I thought maybe everybody might be getting tired of stews and soups, and roast, taters & carrots.    Hope today's special suits everyones taste.

As far as PRODUCE TUESDAY went, all we got today was potatoes and vanilla yogurt.

Don't worry, Willy's weather machine is working just fine.  Well, the heat button is, at least.  At this rate, I just might donate my coats to Goodwill.  Yes, indeed, it is another beautiful day here in sunny San Jose.  Captain [4:-)]

All the way up to 3 hereabouts right now - after seeing -18 on the home weather station at 4:00 am (woke up with a headache - yecch!).

Ms Mook - can't say I've ever heard of beef with noodles and chocolate cake soup....  Tongue [:P]

The lake effect machine has been running to the south of us - but clear skies here (which explains the -18).  The forecast is for the band to reorganize and shift a bit north, but I doubt I'll see much, if any, at the house.

But it is winter, after all.  There's been some coverage of an event we experienced here 30 years ago - the Blizzard of '77.  Paralyzed things for over a week, and pictures abound of snowbanks higher than houses.

You can see a little bit about it via this site: http://www.northcountrynews.com/

Virtual heatwave over here.  We have 3 points of heat and a forecast of going up to 24.  I'll believe that when I see the number on the digital in the car.  Anyway, the sun is bright and a point of cheer as it doesn't look like almost sundown at 2:30 in the afternoon.  Perhaps a last serious blast this coming weekend and then weather.com says we finally break over the freeze mark 10 days from now.

Good morning everyone....it's

COLD!!!! here in Sioux Falls. At the present moment according to the Weather Channel we have 5 degrees below 0, the wind here is out of the NW at 14 mph, which leaves us with a wind chill factor of 26 degrees below 0. Greg Belfrage of KELO AM just announced that we have a temp of 7 below 0. I like Greg, so I'll take his word for it.

I know that Louisville, Kentucky is getting their share of cold weather, right now Cherokee Woman, Locomutt and Sarah are ENJOYING , and I am saying this sarcastically, they are enjoying 25 degrees and a wind chill of 11 above 0! Anyone want to move to South Dakota? At least the sun has come out this morning, but I just looked out my front window and it looks deceptively warm out there!!!!!.

Weeellll, based on our local prognosticator's long range forecast, I have a feeling that Willy's going to have a hard time finding that heat button...

We currently have no temperature here at this moment (ZERO degreesClown [:o)]).  The seven-day forecast is predicting HIGHS for right around there.Sad [:(]Dead [xx(]

^Captain [4:-)]......... CLUNK again!

It isn't the heat - it's the humidity - and it isn't the cold - it is the wind!

I am going to have a hot bowl of beef with lots of noodles and chocolate cake (thank you, ladies) for breakfast.

Then c-o-f-f-e-e and a n-a-p!

Good Tuesday morning, all!  Tina, glad to see you were in last night.  Please come back in often!  Chris, that is a very good picture!!  Always love seeing your pictures.

Our outside temp is ABOVE FREEZING (just barely), at 33 degrees at 5:44 a.m.

Coffee is ready, along with juice, and hot water for cocoa  and tea.  On the warmer bar, for breakfast, you will find:  turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, tator tots, hash browns, home fried taters, homemade buttermilk biscuits and sausage gravy, blueberry muffins and apple/cinnamon muffins, and freshly made bearclaws and bagels.

Everyone have a great morning, and I'll see everyone after I get through with Tuesday Produce.

Chris, First..I so enjoy your picture of the train in Colorado that I saved it on my computer, if that is okay. I love the mountains. Last year when my husband and I had the chance to go to Denver. I got to see the Moffat Tunnel for the first time. I have visited Colorado four times in my life; the last two with him. But seeing it through his eyes and with his stories, it just made the visit so enjoyable. When I saw your picture it reminded me of him and how much he means to me. Thanks for sharing your talent with us.

Second..do you have a special rating that you keep getting top post of each page? We haven't even got our March issue of TRAINS yet.

Ms. Mookie, I have chocolate cake in the fridge. You are welcome to it.

CW and all in the diner...it was 47 here today. Warm with blue skies. If ya'll get too cold, I'll flip the switch on the gas fireplace, make some hot chocolate, turn on the keyboard and we can all sing train songs. (However, I know more Christmas songs than train songs.)

Well, I must be on my way. Have to help a friend change a dying battery before Willy sends us some really cold stuff. Hope you all have a great evening!

I haven't seen Dan nor Dan.  But then, I've been a little busy the past few days and not really paying much attention to what's going on with this forum.

Well, I see someone asked, "What's for supper tonight?"  Here is the answer:

1.  beef noodles w/salad and baked potatoes

2.  porkchop abracadbra w/salad and baked potatoes

DESSERTS:  SAME AS ON THE LUNCH MENU TODAY.

Everyone have a great evening, and I'll be back in later, hopefully.

Good Afternoon!

What a busy day! I hope the rest of the week is a little calmer, but being Catholic Schools Week, it's sure to be crazy. For homework tonight I had geometry, history, theology, spanish, and english. Not only that, but also a geometry quiz and a chemistry test to study for. To make matters worse, there is a campus ministry meeting at 7:45 this evening and who knows how late that will go. I already have geometry, history, and spanish done, but I still have the tests to study for and the theology. I guess my relaxation for the evening is over. Time to get to work again!

TTFN.

Chris - That shot brings two thoughts to mind - conflicting in a way.  One, the railroad is insignificant compared to the landscape, yet, it's still a significant part of our world.

Nothing wrong with it at all!

That's because your "bad" shots are equivalent or better than my "good" shots.

I'll have a couple to link to tonight that I got in Fairfax, IA yesterday while attending a family birthday gathering.  The UP transcon was just a block away, so I could grab shots and then duck back inside the party room to warm up (and eat chocolate cake)!

And a Tip Top of the Morning to You All,

Sorry to hear that the rest of you are finally getting some winter. You'll get used to it after awhile (say 6 weekends in a row with appreciable accumulation of snow). Oh well, one has to make do with what one is given from Weatherman Willy and his Wacky Weekend Weather Machine.

Sunday morning I decided to head out and see if I could find anything to get a picture of in the new snow. I started on the Moffat Line. Saw a couple eastbounds before sunup, but after that the line was Dead [xx(]. After waiting a couple hours, I decided to call "no joy." I decided to take the scenic way back, though through Golden, and see if I could at least get a shot of the Beer Run. I found him, and got this shot:

I didn't really like this shot, though (too much background clutter, most of the train is in shadows, etc.) so I had planned to chase him back into Arvada. Alas! there was a switch job out on the line, so the Beer Run had to wait. I couldn't wait, as I have a couple pups I'm baby-sitting that were probably getting a little anxious for breakfast. Oh well, at least I didn't come back completely empty-handed, I guess.

Well, I guess I had better be on my way. I hope you all have a great day!

TTFN!

That is an awesome shot. Any BNSF engine looks great in any kind of light....then again that must be just me

Just out of curiosity, what exactly is the "barf  bonnet"? I don't believe I have ever seen that paint scheme on BNSF engines before. Unless I missed something

Coffee, and pancakes and sausage sound good to me this morning, and good morning everyone. Kinda backwards but I haven't had my caffine fix yetBig Smile [:D] Dinner [dinner]
