Sir C - sounds like an oxymoron to me - gullible/judge/city.....without even reading the tidbit, I can only imagine!  And you just know our fair city will beat every ounce of life out of this deal until they get some kind of a verdict in their favor....I can't even print the names the Driver is calling "the big dig...".....

.....J....An area near my home in Pennsylvania....{Johnstown}, has a quanity of ethnic festivals each Fall....Lots of them, as the location fostered influx of immigrants during early in the last century for the work in coal mines and steel mills, etc...

Beautiful {different}, designs of churches dot the area and I'm sure these ethnic foods are all available at the festivals.  Don't think I could handle much of it though....{The foods, that is}.  The different music flows too and people really look forward to all the above.

Q - if they would hold these festivals in the fall/winter, I would attend more of them.  Just can't do the heat and 'midity any more.

And like you, I shouldn't even be within smelling distance of most of that food!

WOAH!  BRRR!  Thanks Brian.  I needed that.  Time for a sandwich then it's off to work.  I had to finish trimming the shrubs outside this morning.  Yech is the best way I can sum it up.  CW you should have email later today.  I have to finish editing photos first!

Mook, guess you don't need to come to Louisville for all the Ethnic Festivals then, most are during July, August & September.  still warm and humid!) (Although, the Greek festival is pretty wild!!)

And of course, lets not forget "Octoberfest", still humid 'tho.

Brian, At least you didn't dump a pitcher of Gatorade "Blue Stuff" on his head, that stuff is in Short Supply!!  (mudchicken might have gotten upset!) Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

I don't touch the flavored liquids anymore- it's been 21 months now since I last drank a regular soda.  Just ice water for me or an occasional skim/chocolate milk or beer, thank you.  Now if I could just swear off of chocolate, I might actually lose some weight again...

Good afternoon!

Still trying to quell the uprising in the waving thread. Someday I'll get a brain and give up on it.

Humid and warm here. Perhaps rain, perhaps not. Just your good old fashioned midwest summer day. Looks like it will get hot by the weekend.

Sorry about being so late getting back in.  Errands took a little bit longer than I planned.

Hope everyone was able to find something for lunch!!

Okay, I know of ONE birthday today:  Nance69, Happy B-Day [bday] Happy B-Day [bday] Happy B-Day [bday] Happy B-Day [bday]!!!!!!  Nance, hope your birthday is the best ever, hope you enjoy your day.  (And I won't tell anyone here exactly how young you are today!!)

For her birthday dinner here in the Diner, Nance has requested the following two dishes:

1.  chicken & dumplings and

2.  pork chop abracadbra

So those two dishes are now ready, and more of both will be added to the warmer bar later for the supper menu.

For dessert tonight:  a chocolate birthday cake, and a white/yellow cake with white icing, with blue, green, pink and yellow decorations!  Hopefully, they won't have any storms in her area tonight, that will prevent her from coming in to enjoy her Birthday Dinner!!

I tried that too, Willy.  I guess I didn't say the right thing either.  I've given up on that thread.

Just get your two licks in and then run and hide.  At least the forum isn't dull when they are in their rock throwing mode....

Got any ideas on what classes you will have this fall?

Happy Birthday Nance!

Little elder humor:

I talked to my old boss who is about 4 years older than I am - she now lives in Florida and said for recreation and outings, they go to the doctor's offices every other day!  She said at least they have a nice place to recuperate afterward (Florida vs Nebraska!) Big Smile [:D]

Algebra 2 Trig, Physics, AP Laptop Literature, Spanish 3, Theology, and a few others that I've forgotten. It's going to be a busy year!

EDIT: Just remembered Laptop AP American History as well.

Well that's what I get for paying attention.  I take it you're looking forward to school this year?  Or are you just wanting it to be over with ASAP?

I'm looking forward to school, but not like I look forward to summer vacation or something like that. I never really want summer to end, but once school starts I get into it and enjoy it quite a bit. I always like learning new stuff, even if it is math.

If you're anything like I was back then, you're probably not looking forward to PE (or Phys Ed, Gym, or whatever name they give it now).  I hated that period with a passion.

I hated PE as well. For someone who has never played a single sport in his life, PE was often quite difficult. Fortunately, we only have to take that class for the first two years, so I'm done with it forever. The end of my last PE class last year had to have been one of the happiest moments of my life.

THUD!

The weather conditions here in Sioux Falls are about the same. I just got home from work and right now we have a temperature of 90 degrees. The web site of the Weather Underground has indicated that our humidity is at 55%, but it feels like it is a lot higher than that. It is just absolutely ghastly here. There is a buildup of black thunderclouds in the south end of Sioux Falls and I heard some thunder on my way home from work, so maybe, just maybe we will get some badly needed rain. On a day like this, I would welcome anyone tossing a water balloon at me or soaking me with a garden hose!

The college of your choice may require you to take a basic PE class sometime during your tenure there.  It's not that bad of an idea, IMHO.  I won't preach but staying active is a good thing.

I can stay active perfectly well without PE. Walking, running, biking, etc work perfectly well for me thank you very much.

Willy I hope you do stay active but too many in the country don't!  That's fact.

I'm gonna grab a quick bite and then back to the 'other' thread to watch the fight.  Willy, you still got any popcorn left?

Plenty of popcorn is left, Dan. Help yourself and enjoy the show!
