Make sure you save a couple for the "Chocolate Loving" Cat, and be sure to keep them as cool as possible in this Hot weather, the cat doesn't need a chocolate fur frosting!!Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Lunch today is going to be on the cool side:  vichysoise soup (in other words, cold soup!), and cold cut sandwiches, served with chips.    It's just too hot to cook today!!

Desserts today:  cold cheesecake, ice cream, ice cold watermelon, and flavor-ice pops.

Plus, there's plenty of ice cold iced tea, lemonade, Gatorade (all flavors), and plain ole H2O!!

Guess the resident cat is very busy, catching up on all the work that was probably put on her desk Friday afternoon!!

// Drags in boxes of Rocky Ford Canteloupe, Olathe Sweet Corn and Palisade Peaches - good time of year to be in Colorado as the orchards and truck farms are getting busy. This years corn and canteloupe crops look really good. Peaches suffered from this year's wierd spring.

Locally, our high today has reached 99 degrees.  Yuck!!!!  Tomorrow through Thursday, might be in the low to mid 100s, they're saying.  So, since the vichsoise soup apparently did not go over too well for lunch, for tonight, we'll just go with cold cut sandwiches, chips, and cold garden salads w/turkey, ham and or roast beef added. We still have plenty of ice cold watermelon and freezer pops, for dessert tonight, also.  And the Gatorade, iced tea and lemonade have all been restocked and are cold, ready for consumption by all who are thirsty.

Joe and Lance, have containers in the fridge, ready for you to take to work tonight.

Cantaloupe?  Where's my spoon?

The peaches may look funny, but I'd bet they make good home-made ice cream.....   I'll start cranking.

Five inched of rain here in the last 48 hours.  The house is on high ground, but I may need the chest waders to get to the grocery store.  We know we are in trouble when we see boats anchored in the parking lot of the local friendly tavern.

Send us some rain, maybe it'll cool things down some. We got about a 1/4 inch Sat. night/Sun. morning, but haven't seen anything since, and no predictions of anymore in the near future.

...Yes, that much rain is wild in our dry period we've been experiencing.  Our latest rain {total}, in my rain gauge has been just  a bit over a half inch....We are still so dry here.  Yard is really taking a beating.  It usually is very nice looking as it gets fertlized regularly and I keep it mowed properly, but now....Really nasty looking with brown almost overriding the green.

Hey KY neighbors Walt, Paula, and Sarah,

Is it as hot in Louisville as it is up here in Northern Ky. Saw on the news last night you all hit 99 degrees.

I'm toasted.

We're getting drenched up here too- over an inch in the last 24 hours, but it's not providing relief from the heat.  It was so humid this morning that our house windows were fogged up from the AC running (apologies to those members who don't have AC).

Brian, (Ky)  Yes, It's that hot here, and you all aren't that far behind us either.

We're to get to about a 100% today, but the heat index is saying/going to say,

feels about like 110%

I think and feel like I'm more than toasted!! (start handing out the Forks, we're all DONE!!)

Brian (Ia)  I'm almost glad we don't have A/C, it doesn't seem to be quite as hard  on us to go outside and do other things, and have to adjust to leaving an  A/C building.

Good Tuesday afternoon, to all.  Yes, the gym where we have the Dare to Care Produce give-away is air conditioned; but, you have to wait for someone with the door keys to show up, in order to get to the ac!!  So, I was still outside, until about 9:30.  They carried the produce inside the gym, and we gave it out inside.

For lunch today, I've fixed a Mexican Fiesta, and everything is on the warmer bar.  So grab a plate, fill'er up, and head for a cool spot!

Also replenished our supply of ice cold watermelon and cantaloupe.  Gatorade train made a delivery about a half hour ago, so got that in the cooler.  Almost thought about putting it in the freezer for a bit, but didn't want it totally freezing and bursting all over the place.

Hmmm, see another day has rolled around, and no word from MookieSad [:(]  Mookie, please come and at least stick your head in the door, and say "HI!"

There are Tylenol in the medicine cabnet in the back, just don't overdo.

Thanks for the pics., but no hurry, whenever you can. I've just not mastered

using the other program yet. (they got there, but basically all I get are thumbnails)
