....J:

The humidity does get thick, especially at that time of morning.  Of course that is what makes this heat so difficult to take.

Just finished mowing...{more like smoothing up the lawn}, as it is still desert dry here, and at noon when I came in here to cool off it was 90.5 and rising.  Had paper towels over my head and under my light colored hat, and that helped....kept it {pres.}, out of my eyes.

Plenty of salad in the fridge, so help yourself.  And here's a super large glass of sweet tea!!

Hi everyone. Big heat wave. Barb and I toughed it out at Myrtle Beach with relatives in their Fairfield condo. It's good to be back here. It was not a railfan trip, however, after leaving Illinois, I did not snap even one good pic. RATS. One highlight of trip was riding ferries across the Mississippi into Missouri, then driving downstream and riding the next one back. I think we rode them all on the way to Memphis to eat Corky's BBQ
I will look back through the pages to catch up on stuff. Thanks for the pics,Duff. Pretty baby.

Joe and Lance, have containers ready and in the fridge, for you all to take to work tonight.  Try to stay as cool as possible, tonight, guys!!

This heat is beginning to really get to me.  All I want to do is sleep, and it's so hot, can't.

Good Friday morning to one and all.  Managed to 'cool' down enough here, for me to go to sleep about midnight.  Slept till after 7:30 this morning.

Coffee is ready, and fresh oj/oj-tangerine, apple juice, ice tea, lemonade, etc. are freshly made and in the fridge.  On the warmer bar:  BLTs, biscuit & sausage 'sandwiches' w/or w/o cheese, scrambled eggs, and fresh fruit are available for breakfast this morning.

Hope they'll be plenty of you in here for our FRIDAY FISH FRY around noon, 1 p.m. EDT!!  You all have a good morning, and Joe, see if you and Matt can bring back a couple cases of Dum-Dum pops!

Morning everyone.  I won't be around tonight for the Fry and I'll be gone for most of the weekend at a wedding.  I'll eat some cake for all of ya unless you want me to bring you a piece back.  Seems like some things have cooled a bit: good!

Where's the cat???

Dan, not exactly sure, but imagine the cat is busy getting ready for students and faculty to return.  Hope you have fun this weekend, at the wedding.  And yeah, you can bring back some extra wedding cake, if you wish.  Wink [;)]

Our FRIDAY FISH FRY is now underway:  have all the regular kinds of fish, along with some snapper, crab legs and steamed clams; sides are cole slaw, fries, onion rings, baked beans.

Desserts:  apple, blueberry, cherry, and peach pies; chocolate cake, and plenty of ice cream.

Our current temp here in the Louisville area is about 86.4, and pleasant as opposed to the stifling heat we've been putting up with.

Mook you can borrow that for as long as you need.  It can even defeat tin armor with the new upgraded 'business end'.  Maybe I'll get lucky this weekend and get to see some trains on the way to or from the wedding.

Oh OH!!  The people at the university better watch out!! I think mudchicken's correct:  they just might have new cadavers to work with this term!!

Got the next round of fish ready for tonight.  We have catfish, cod, flounder, halibut, haddock, perch, along with more crab cakes and steamed clams.  Regular sides of corn on the cob, cole slaw, baked beans, and plenty more pies and chocolate cake.

Hoping everyone stays as cool as possible.

Good Saturday morning!  Joe, thanks so very much for getting breakfast ready this morning!!  You are such a big help in here!!  And I'm sure mudchicken really appreciates you refilling his Gatorade canteens, jugs, barrels!!

Looks like it's going to be a beautiful day, even if it's on the hot and humid side.  This is August, though, and schools start back here Monday morning.  Hard to believe it's BACK TO SCHOOL time for all the kiddoes.

Everyone take care, have a good day, and see you all back later this evening for our Saturday Night Pizza Fest.

Good morning everyone. CW, last Saturday we drove through Louisville coming in from the south, via US 27 and US127. I have never seen so many yard sales/flea markets in my life. Does this happen every Satuday?
  Have a good one.

Hello everyone......

Well, I am now the proud owner of one Wisconsin Class A CDL, with air brake and combination vehicle endorsements.  If I ever take a picture of the truck I am now driving (2004 Kenworth T2000 with a 475hp Kittycat twin turbo motor), will post it up for all to see.

Will take ten gallons of water and five gallons of Gatorade, please.  It's only about 80-85 here, but very humid.

See everyone later...

Bob, I think that was the yearly 'yard sale' that runs from the Ohio border (I think) all the down to Tennessee, if not to Alabama.  It's billed as "The Longest Yard Sale in North America", or something like that.  They usually have it one weekend in August, and that must have been it, you came upon.

  Have a good one.

As CW said, that's the 127 Yard Sale that have yearly. If I read it right this is the first year that they started north of Cincinnati. I think they usually started in Covington and it headed to Alabama.

I'll take a large #4 with an ice cold Dr. Pepper.

You all have a great Sunday.
