Link to aforementioned red arrows on ROW for EAA. Lots of acronyms...could confuse me at this early hour! Coffee, juice, fruit, and donuts are out. That should do until someone much more talented than myself checks in this morning. Later!
Dan
Good Tuesday morning, all! Hope everyone was able to get some good rest and sleep last night, and are ready for a brand new day.
Dan, thanks for the link! Enjoyed perusing it. Also, thanks for making the coffee, juice, and putting out doughnuts and fruit! That's a good way to start a morning. To go along with them, I've fixed some bacon, sausage, and scrambled eggs; and they're on the warmer bar.
Sure do wish I could take my coffee and head out to the patio or garden; but, since this is PRODUCE TUESDAY for me, guess I'll have to save that for later.
You all let me know if you'd like to make this MEXICAN FIESTA DAY, or TUESDAY PIZZA FEST DAY. You all take care, and have a good morning!!

CW my vote is for Pizza Day.
Glad you enjoyed the link. I got the email and I'll see what I can do.
Wonder if the Chicken would want to come to Lincoln today? Humidity is now officially 90% and no rain.... You don't walk, you slog.
....Good Morning to early risers.....It was 64 degrees here before 7 am. Looks like a partly cloudy or {sunny}, day. Very dry. Nice yard is having a hard time staying alive. Watered some shrubs last evening to help them survive.
Weather people say we are deficient 6.5" of rain since May 1st. It is really going to hurt the Indiana corn crop....Something this area is known for.
Should get to about 80 today. Believe the humidity is to rise some too. It's been very nice these last few days in that respect.
Trains are running in the distance now as it's quiet and I can hear them pass on the NS Frankfort line. That line seems to be much more used at night and in the morning like this time and on into the morning.
So many grain cars coming in from the west now....That seems to be the major business on that line. I really don't know which way they go once in downtown Muncie...Several choices, but I'd guess most of that traffic is headed south towards the "rathole div."....and points south...Just a guess. I notice an increase in tank car numbers too incoming and going back west on that line.
Best wishes to all on their work day.
Quentin

You sure the weather machine got put back together the same way you took it apart to see how it worked?
Or did Ma Nature just check into the funny farm?
MC, I suspect that Willy and his parents are still off somewhere on vacation, and someone else is babysitting the weather machine...

Indeed we were. We were visiting Carl Shaver out in Chicago on a nice little 4 day vacation.
Mudchicken - Yes, things got a little crazy with the weather while we were gone. Your area wasn't the only place with storms moving from east to west. They were doing that in western Iowa and eastern Nebraska as well. Just goes to show how crazy the weather really is.

Here's the lineup for our TUESDAY PIZZA FEST:
1. anchovie2. Candadian bacon3. cheese4. Hawaiian5. pepperoni/sausage/mushroom6. supreme
And for dessert, we have fudge brownies, chocolate cake, and yellow cake with caramel icing. Sorry about the brownies not having nuts in them, but since I can't have anything with nuts anymore, did not want to be tempted.
Yeah, humidity is creeping back up here today; and for the rest of the week, daily chance of thunderstorms. Looks like we're back into normal July weather.
We had a "population explosion" at Tuesday Produce this morning: 78 people showed up. And all they delivered today was: Tropicana No Pulp Orange Juice, yellow summer squash, tomatoes, and large bags of salad mix.
Willy, welcome back!! You were truly missed, while you were away!!
Dan, don't have any tin boots, but might be able to find a pair or two of steel-toed shoes, if you think you really need them!!
Cw got my container thanks.see ya in the morning.
Hawaiian for me, if you please.
There's been an interesting discussion of the runaway cars in Watertown on a local board - it's amazing what people don't know.... Of course, I take every opportunity to straighten 'em out.
Time for a trip to the print shop - got some tickets to turn out.
Larry Resident Microferroequinologist (at least at my house) Everyone goes home; Safety begins with you My Opinion. Standard Disclaimers Apply. No Expiration Date Come ride the rails with me! There's one thing about humility - the moment you think you've got it, you've lost it...
Got more pizzas on the warmer bar for tonight. Larry, here's some Hawaiian for you.
Joe, glad you found your containers in the fridge! Lance, there are some containers for you also, for work tonight. I put a couple of slices of each kind of pizza in the containers for you two. So, you both have a variety of pizzas tonight!!
Everyone have a terrific evening, and I'll probably be lurking about this evening.
Save a few slices of the Canadian Bacon for me! I'll be in the Diner sometime after 9:00 cst tonight.
It sure is hot and dry here in the Dakotas. Right now we have a temp of 90 degrees here in Sioux Falls. The humidity here is sitting at 57%. My yard has turned brown and gone dormant until we get some rain here. Sioux Falls is kind of surrounded on three sides by the Big Sioux River, and I am hearing reports from our local news media that the river could end up running dry here within the next couple months. Sioux Falls gets a hefty share of it's water from the Sioux River and the thought that it could end up running dry is a little scary to me.
I am going out to our local HO scale railroad club, the Sioux Valley Model Engineers Society with another one of our club members tonight. I recently purchased a Colorado & Southern USRA 2-10-2, a product of the Proto 2000 division of Walthers, and I am going to try to get a Digitrax decoder installed in it either tonight or next Tuesday night. I plan to run this "new toy" of mine during our club's annual open house during the week of the Sioux Empire Fair. I also have a CB&Q M-4 class 2-10-4 in custom painted brass, and I'm thinking that I should be able to run both locomotives together. That I think, would be neat.
I hope the rest of you out there have a good evening.
Stay cool, stay safe!

6. supreme
Any of that supreme left? And as far as apologizing for no nuts, you don't need to for me- I can't stand 'em. Leave 'em out ALL the time!

Morning again! I'll get the coffee going and grab a cup of OJ then take a nap in the closest comfy seat around...ahh...
SCRATCH, SCRATCH, FILE, BUFF, FILE, SCRATCH......
'mornin' Dan - Comfy? Hmmmm?????
Tree - printing airline tickets?
CW - I think I will have a big cup of coffee this morning. Starting out as a strenous day already.
I need some R & R trackside, but it is just way too hot to sit there, even in the shade. And unlike BNSF, I can't run the air in Millie all the time. (boy I am glad that's all I have to complain about!)
Going to just sit here and wait for some action. I will make some later after I have rested a little.
Good morning, Dan, Mookie, and anyone else who's shown up this morning! Dan, thank you for making the coffee. I've made fresh juices, lemonade, and iced tea. They're in the fridge, getting nice and cold!!
Mookie, here's your big cup of coffee. Think I'll join you in the corner booth, after I get breakfast on the warmer bar. Today you'll find: turkey bacon, sausage patties & links, sausage gravy & homemade buttermilk biscuits, hash browns and Western omelettes.
Mookie, I feel a little mischievious this morning. Trying to think of somebody around here that we can "rattle their cage" a little bit. Got any ideas?!?!
Thanks much for putting the coffee on, Dan. The rest of us coffee drinkers here appreciate it! I am contributing a nice selection of rolls and donuts from the local bakery for breakfast this morning. It's gonna get pretty hot in most places this afternoon and I figure Cherokee Woman might not want to do much cooking today.
I hope everyone has a good day. Stay cool, stay safe!
Ray
...
Huh? Whazzat?...
mmph
Hey Ray, thanks for bring in the rolls and doughnuts!! Now, everyone can have a very good variety of breakfast items from which to select this morning!!
As far as cooking today, lunch is going to be cold cuts and chips, and for supper tonight, I've got two large Crock Pots going in the kitchen, with beef stew in them. And the cornbread will be baked in the oven, while the AC is blowing right on me, to keep me cool!!
clank - clank - clank
//walks in door carrying second pair of tin boots, tosses them towards Dan
CRASH!!!
Better put those on, Dan- good, now we're prepared for mischief!

Yeah, thank God for air conditioning! I wouldn't be able to do much baking at this time of year without it. I am getting ready for another Fair Week open house with Sioux Valley Model Engineers Society here in Sioux Falls, and when I first joined our club in 1980 I began a tradition of providing a lot of homemade goodies, mostly cookies and a pan of chocolate fudge brownies for the rest of the club's membership to munch on during the course of our open houses, especially the one during the week of the Sioux Empire Fair. Before I head for work this morning I am going to go to my neighborhood Sunshine supermarket and stock up on things like oatmeal, brown sugar, grated coconut, chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, peanut butter, eggs, flour, virtually everything you would find in a cookie recipe. I usually turn out a pretty good smorgasboard of goodies for our club's open houses, and our Fair Week open house begins Tuesday morning, August 7th.
For those of you who live within a few hundered miles of Sioux Falls, I might encourage you to make the trip out here just to see our club's layout out here on the north end of the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds. Just ask for "Lofty" and if I am there, I will be happy to bring you inside and give you a tour of our club's layout.
