WOW... Anybody have any scuba gear I can borrow?

In the last hour we've received 2.24 inches of rain.  My weather station also recorded the highest wind gust that it's seen so far- 34.5 MPH, which in this neigborhood full of hills and mature trees is SMOKIN'.  From what I can see out our windows, there are alot of not-so-small tree branches down.  At this point, though, the only casualties in our house are a slow drip coming out of the bathroom ceiling fan and a very damp three-seasons porch (not a problem, just outdoor furniture and carpet out there).

Water hog! (and we are looking at 100 again.....// Heads off to find weather machine with 16# circuit breaker in hand.....)Sleepy [|)]Sleepy [|)]Disapprove [V]Disapprove [V]Sad [:(]

Well, at least Ed's decided to share it with someone else...

We're well over four inches since yesterday morning, with more promised.

Hmmm, looks like Mookie is still MIA!!  Lunch is now on the warmer bar.  I'm making today MEXICAN FIESTA DAY:  tacos, enchiladas, burritos (beef and beef/beans), Spanish rice, along with several other Mexican dishes.

Desserts today:  apple, blueberry, cherry and peach cobblers; chocolate cake w/chocolate icing; white cake w/caramel icing; and pecan pie; ice cream to go on top of the cakes, cobblers and pie, or just to eat by itself.

Everyone stay as cool as possible, and have a good day!!

Iamhereforthefirsttimetoday!

I came back to a mess and it will take due diligence to get it all properly pushed off my desk and into the round file!  Everyone knew I would be gone so they took it really easy on my substitute and saved it for me.  Wasn't that special!

See MC was in - they had a tornado in the far west on Friday - I just figured it was him leaving Newbrasskey in a hurry.....

I can't stay - I am going to grab a kibble and get another round file ready.

Brian - Captain (Kangaroo) sez share.....(we need rain)......You don't want me to come looking for you, now do you?

And for you people who threaten easily - I will be back tomorrow.

I wish I could comply with that request, although by the looks of the midwest radar we will be sharing it with some folks in Louisville very shortly... duck, LM and CW!

Still here!  Busy, Busy, Busy.  Had to come to work at O-Dark-30 this morning for a problem, then back in at regular time for a class, now I'm headed home to see why my pump is misbehaving.  Sheesh!

We're OK on rain here - in fact, if the water works don't take up a lot of my time, I may get my lawn mowed, too.  It needs it (finally).

On the road again!!

......Have .45" of rain in my rain gauge this morning as all morning was a slow light rain....The best kind.  The surprise is we got any at all...!  Dry as a bone here.

Very light rain coming down again this afternoon...very light, but it all is needed and will help.  A critical week for farmers corn, so I'm told.

I can see by the looks of my yard how dry it's been....

Mookie, glad to see you made it in!!  Sure gets lonesome around here, when you're gone.  Brian, yes, we got rain about 45 minutes to an hour ago.  Lots of wind, some rain.  Feels good outside, now.

Continuing the MEXICAN FIESTA for tonight.  Loaded up the warmer bar with Spanish rice, tacos (soft and corn) burritos, enchiladas, etc., with lettuce and chopped onions and tomatoes, and there's plenty of cobblers, cakes, pie and ice cream for dessert.

Joe and Lance, as usual, there are containers in the fridge with your names on them, for work tonight.

Have a good evening, everyone, and talk with you later.

Halloooo?  ^ ?

Boy does it echo in here.

I am just itchin' to make some mischief, but have only today and then off again tomorrow, and back again on Friday.  This has been a very bad week.  But I will make up for it again next week.

Picked up the living section of the paper this morning and there was asparagus on the front page.  Now there is a big hole in that front page and the garbage is a little fuller.

Must go find a puter and answer all the e-mails I owe.  Wait....I don't have a puter.  HA - took care of that problem didn't I!

Mookie!!!  Welcome back!!  See how dead it is in here, when you're gone?!?!  Here's your coffee mug.  Do you want coffee or hot tea in it?  Asparagus on the front page of the paper?!?!  How could they do such a thing.

On the warmer bar for breakfast this morning:  pancakes, waffles, French toast, sausage patties, sausage links, turkey bacon, and fresh fruit.

Does anyone have any requests for lunch and or dinner?  If so, please let me know.

Alittle damp around the edges here again this morning, but the heavy stuff apparently stayed up in northeast Iowa/southwest Wisconsin/northwest Illinois last night.  It will be interesting to hear how much they got.

How about grilled ham and cheese sandwiches for lunch?

...Very light rain here in central Indiana.....Almost don't recognize it.

70 degrees here already this morning and of course cloudy.  Radar indicates lots of green around here so that should mean we will get some more light rain today...The best kind, and seriously needed.

Had to go thru the ritual of changing TV's last week as our very reliable Sony decided to turn itself off after about 14 years.

Problem cured, after much checking and measuring, etc....Now in it's place is the new technology of flat panel....Really great...Must go watch Morning Joe for a little bit and have my coffee....Everyone have a good day.

I am ready for some:  watermelon, Lasagne w/garlic butter toast, and milk.  To go.  I don't want to cook tonite.

Lunch - tuna salad something.  It just feels like a tuna day.  Maybe alternate with salmon patties.  Yum!  Dinner [dinner]

CW - I had a big cup of coffee, so now a cup of herbal tea would be nice.  Crank up the porch swing!

Moo....

Update from Iowa- the news is that MacGregor, up next to the Mississippi, got over eight inches of rain last night, and as a result the bluffs surrounding the town are in the midst of reshaping themselves- lots of rock and mudslides, flooding, etc.  ICE has major problems with washouts and landslides blocking tracks.

Brian - think there may be some more coming your way from way above us - either tonite or tomorrow morning - so batten the hatches.  Or at least put up your 'brella.....

Egg salad sounds good to me!  I am not a big egg person, but love good egg salad....

We didn't get that until around 6:00pm last night. Rain wasn't Real heavy, but had some fairly strong winds, with reports of branches, limbs, trees, and wires down in the eastern part of the city. We only got about 0.3" of rain here at the house, other areas got up to 0.75".

We're looking for more of the same this evening. (about the time CSXrule4eva goes to work today; second shift.)

Luckily, we didn't have to "Duck", but thought we saw several with their slickers on and carrying signs that said; "Florida or Bust"!! Wink [;)]

I'll take a couple of grilled H&C, please.  I need 'em to supplement that watered-down beef stew I got from our cafeteria here at work.

News link on situation in NE IA- watch the video, she shows a hi-railer going past on ICE behind her.

http://www.kcrg.com/news/local/8570097.html

EDIT: watched it again myself, realized the hi-railer wasn't really on the tracks, just crossing them.Dunce [D)]

I just got home from work and we have a temperature of 72 degrees, and the humidity is sitting at 81%, which I can live with. It started raining here during the noon hour while I was at work, and being that I don't have a rain gauge, I can only guess at how much rain we got. But I was a lot more comfortable walking home from work than when I left my house at 11:00 this morning. The little bit of rain we got sure cooled us down nicely. We still have a 60% chance of thunderstorms throughout tonight, so maybe we will get more rain.

I sat down to have dinner at Wendy's after I had finished working my shift, and a realtor there offered me $90,000.00 for my little one-bedroom house. I think he had me and my address confused with someone else, but I did give him my name and phone number along with my street address. My house was recently appraised at $70,000.00 and I told this guy that. I've been living in the same spot since April of 1991 and even if I were offered that kind of money for my house, I don't look forward to the headaches associated with moving into another house.

We just had some thunder-boomers go thru...but they left the humidity behind!  I guess it's not that bad, we could have been nailed with hail (or would that be 'hailed'? Big Smile [:D]) or a tornado.

Anyone in here ever dabble in RC cars?  Yeah I know it's a train forum...

I've never "dabbled" in anything like  RC cars, but there are RC Trains!!Wink [;)]

(now RC Helicopters are another story)

Glad we didn't get the "Thunder Boomers" like yesterday, but sure would feel better if it did rain and the humidity went down some. (some more)
