OKC, end of 1969 - 6" of snow in one storm. The whole place was closed. I got our shop 4x4 pickup and drove all over the place...

Welcome Big90mack - what quandrant of OK are you in? I know your snowfall (unless it has changed in years gone by) is only about 3 inches a year (that is in the west/central part.

You tricked me!
I just can't seem to keep up when it comes to computers. Oh well.
My apologies Datafever.

Nightrain, you've selected the menu for today: pastrami sandwiches, grilled cheese sandwiches, tomato soup, beef vegetable soup, cream of broccoli soup, potato soup, oyster stew, and we'll have some oyster crackers to go with the soups.
And we have Emmar's cinnamon rolls w/and without raisins, for dessert, as well as chocolate cake.
And we've got plenty coffee, hot tea, and hot cider. Try to keep cider on hand for mudchicken and Sarah, because I know they both like it.

Send away - I loved both of those programs. Still watch the Avengers occasionally - with the Mrs. Peel - and the Thrush is what we see sometimes at our birdie feeder.

Does anyone out there remember the television series from the 1960's, "The Man From U.N.C.L.E.?" In one of those episodes (or was it "The Avengers"?), there was a little old lady who was going around stabbing people with her knitting needles. Maybe we should send Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin to Lincoln, Nebraska to deal with Miss Kitty. I suspect she's a THRUSH agent.

Chicago is looking pretty decent this weekend. There could be a little snow on Saturday morning, but otherwise dry weather. It looks cold though; highs in the 20s on Saturday and teens on Sunday. You probably have to worry about Amtrak more than the weather.

Careful there Ray, she may not be able to knit that well with them, but I bet she can do other things with those needles...

Good Thursday morning, everyone! Well, looks like I slept reeeeally good last night. Just woke up about 20 minutes ago. Guess I was still tired, from sitting at the doctor's office yesterday.
Ray, thanks a whole bunch, for putting the coffee on, making juice, and fixing breakfast.
Nightrain, what you brought in, and with what Ray fixed this morning, looks like we're set for a feast this morning. Think I'll take a little bit of everything. And congratulations on the baby news!!
Mookie, maybe you and I can get together, and make something for the baby? I need to go get some yarn, appropriate colors for a little girl!!
Does anyone have any requests for lunch today? If so, let me know in the next little bit.
Everyone have a great day!!

thank you everyone, yeah she's my first, I am sure that things will work out when she gets here. I can't wait to see her!
thank god I only have two more months to go, the last seven weren't so bad so fat
*swpies some sausage*..I'm getting hungry
I think someone did leave the back door open, Joe, cause here in FL it's cold, probably about 40 outside now. Last night it got down to 32 degrees!, Saturday night it's spuposed to drop down to 26...Better cover up the wellhead while I am thinking about it.
CP - Thanks for breakfast.
Got to work this morning and discovered they had delayed opening two hours, so it's awfully quiet around here. More time to sit and chat....
Snow did end last night - the challenge here is clearing all of the parking lots (it's a big 'campus'). In fact, the sun is peeking out from time to time, but it's cold - 2 below as I write this.
Hammock is occupied. May have to take a couch...

Nighttrain, is this going to be your first child? If so, congratulations! My prayers are with you, and I hope that she will be born healthy, and without any complications.
Man it's cold outside! brrr! *walks in, turns on the heater, and brews coffee*
I can stick around if anyone wants waffles, That is if you all want help. I have nothing better to do and I am wide awake.
I don't know if I told everyone here that I was pregnant, but Tuesday we found out that I have a baby girl. Her name is going to be Mercedes Marie, Sadie for short. So far she's coming along quite nicely.
Hope everyone stays warm, I hear its frigid in some parts of the Midwest now, with lots of wind and snow...brrrrr
Well, it looks like I'm the first one in the Diner here. I've got the coffee brewing, I've mixed up a fresh batch of orange juice and I've put the hot chocolate out on the counter. I figure it's plenty cold out there, no matter where one goes or is living, and I would think there would be a lot of call for the hot chocolate as well as coffee.
On the menu for breakfast this morning; oatmeal, english muffins, waffles, buttermilk/blueberry pancakes, hickory smoked bacon, pork sausage links, scrambled eggs, and apple/cinnamon coffee cake.
In Sioux Falls, South Dakota we have a temperature of 10 degrees below 0, and the wind chill leaves us sitting at 22 below 0. It is definitely COLD here where I am living.

I was a bit younger then, but I can remember that the only way in and out of the house was from a couple of the second story windows. Yes, the snow was that deep. It took the better part of a day just to dig down to the front door.
We haven't had snow like that since then, either!

Hey Datafever nice to see you have a avatar now. I am thinking that since i am trying to do all these newfangled computer tricks with avatars and pictures in my posts I might try to change my avatar every week.
I just "trimmed up" my driveway from what's come down since I cleared it earlier - nothing significant, but there was a little drifting.
I also cleared a path in the back yard for the pups. Measured 14" of snow on the flat, and what's there has settled some. I've probably seen about 2' here, a far cry from the folks just south of here.
Willy - You can probably come up here in April and find some snow someplace...
