yes the afghan is getting some use, I had to take it to a friend so she could mend it, it unraveled . She fixed it though, so now it's fine
Lastest of me and her.
I'll take one of those burgers!
Got a great call from the son this morning, with two bits of good news. Biggest was that the test results are in and it'll be "Grampa" Tree early next year. No early word on boy or girl (or preferences), so that bit of suspense will have to wait.
His other news was that he passed his final physical for sheriff's deputy and will begin the academy this summer. He's been around public safety for years, so this isn't a stretch for him.
I'm still recovering from the weekend on the railroad - two l-o-n-g days. After the regular runs Saturday I helped set up the train for a special evening run (I couldn't work it - HOS would have kicked in), then on Sunday, after the regular runs, we had to set up the train for Wednesdays train robberies (added three cars). Of course, that probably means I'll have to help take those three cars back off the train Wednesday....
But, I'm on vacation this week. Time to work on my list of things I haven't had time to do all spring...
It's summer - let's do steaks, baked (on the grill) potatoes, and salads (your choice) for supper! I've got the grill!

Congrats Tree! Is this your first one? Do we have a due date to mark on CW's calendar?
How fun! And they are just hardly any work. And if they need cleaning - "MOM!"......

We have had some great weather for the last week or so. Highs around 80 or less, low humidity and plenty of sun.
I am really worried about the next few days. This was in a news brief column of today's Janesville Gazette. "High temperatures in the 80's for the week with a slight chance of Tuesday through Thursday."
I don't know about anybody else, but I was counting on not missing any days this week, especially since Wednesday is a national holiday. Does Willy have a better forecast? LOL

Hope that means it isn't Monday all week back there!
Send us some of those 80's and some rain please. Colorado is now at tinderbox stage.
Grampa Tree, hope you've got the grill ready, and LC, hope your steam pot's ready, because here is tonight's menu:
German potato salad (per mudchicken's request), burgers, steaks, and 'baked' taters on the grill, 5 bean salad, Monte Cristo for Duff's husband John, clams courtesy of LC, and there are plenty of fries going in the deep fryers.
Joe and Lance, have containers in the fridge, ready for you two to take to work tonight.
There's plenty of sweet tea, lemonade, unsweetened tea, and soft drinks, so hopefully everyone will be satisfied tonight.
Larry, congratulations on the new addition-to-be to your family!!

This would be the first. Grandma-to-be (my ex) hasn't heard yet - not sure how she's gonna handle it.....
I'll be practicing up as best I can on spoiling the kid so I can send him/her home.....
And Gramps has changed a few diapers in his day - we'll be more than glad to give Mom a break.
I haven't heard the specific "Estimated Date of Confinement" (due date) yet, but understand it to be in March.
Haven't been on for a little bit because I was slaving over a hot grill. (Actually, my cable modem hung up and I just got it going again). Bon Appetit!

Coffee, juice, tea and lemonade are ready and on the breakfast bar: cantaloupe, watermelon, turkey bacon, sausage, waffles, pancakes, strawberries, blueberries, muffins, bear claws, bagels.
You all have a terrific morning, and I'll see everyone later, when PRODUCE TUESDAY is over and done with for the week.

Stove or hotplate works best.
We have leftovers for lunch today: pork chop abracadbra, the food Grampa Tree grilled last night, and and there's leftovers from breakfast (bacon, sausage, pancakes)
PRODUCE TUESDAYwent pretty well today. Had 60 people, and the food was: potatoes, carrots, red peppers, sliced celery, celery stalks, and choice of pineapple or watermelon and yellow summer squash.
Think I'll head to the store after awhile, and buy a charcoal grill and charcoal for tomorrow, along with some steak, and gound beef. Kroger has reduced the price of the Aussie Charcoal Grills from $70 down to about $44, $45, so it's time to get one!! Will also need to get grilling utensils. But I think it'll be really nice to grill out here at home tomorrow.

Off until Thursday? Prowling around the asparagus barrier zone? Hmmmm.... Scottsbluff-Bayard starts on Friday.
Office building got buzzed this morning by a B-17, B-24 (only one still flying) and a B-25. Wonder if they can be rigged to drop large water balloons? The mid-west east of us and Texas seem to be hoarding water while we get none. The drone & metal valve clatter of those big radial engines is something.
Got to find out what Copcar is doing back at the "ranch" in Welte Park. His company's trucks have been very busy over the past few mornings.

And She's not the one who actually grills, and there is always a Fire extinguisher at the ready!!
Dan and Brian, how many more plastic sheets do I need to bring in? I've got several rolls of, just need to know what size to cut them to.
(Joe, I have an extra sledgehammer if it's needed!)
EVERYONE HAVE A VERY SAFE 4th OF JULY!!
To the Mudchicken,
Here, you can have some of ours...ought to shake some of the dust off!
And folks wonder why Monday mornings
Looks like it might rain on the parade too...
Willy,
Guess what happens when you mix damp, cool air from inland with hot, wet air off the Gulf of Mexico?
And they said this job was fun.....
