Things are moving along quite nicely, me and John got done with preparing Sadie's room, and it looks awesome in there. I can show pictures but I have to brighten them up for them to show.

I'm very sure Matt will share fries with you all, he's been very good to the rest of us.

Dan, thanks for that info. will definitely have to look into it.

Duff - Adorable picture of Sadie!

The weather did it again. A cold front moved through last night with a dry frontal passage. Now this morning and afternoon, thunderstorms have sparked along it just south of us. In fact, one spot reported 4.80 inches of rain in 90 minutes. Now I know that's not good, but I think it would be exciting to experience something like that. Meanwhile, here in Omaha, we're high and dry and will stay that way for at least a week. Angry [:(!]

Chris - I'll see what I can do about keeping the heat out of the Denver area, but it is summer, you know.

Duff & Sadie - Good to see you in here. Stop by more often if you get the time!

Willy - If you get a chance in the August time frame, take a trip out this way. The monsoon machine should be in high gear, and we'll get rains in the 2-3"/Hour bracket. Kind of impressive to see, but a real pain to drive in!

Afternoon all.  It's much less muggy here so thanks for that Willy.  The sunshine is nice today, too!

How come it's been pretty quiet in here lately?  Did I miss a memo or something?  Oh wait...summertime = people being outdoors.  DOH!

Thanks for the great weather Willy. Last week we had lots of rain. Now we have heat and humidity and the corn here in Mercer County must be 6 feet tall. Could be a bumper crop. With temps moderating a little, Barbara and   I are cruising up the Miss Sipp to Dubuque tomorrow, returning Friday night. I just LOVE retirement. Maybe I can get a nice pic of the UP bridge at Clinton IA.

Hot, Humid, and WINDY.  I can see the tops of the thunderheads that are nailing the folks just to the south of us, and we are just outside the SVR TSTRM watch areas.  It's 89 right now at the Watertown airport....

Might make a hot weekend on the railroad, but there is rain in the forecast for Sunday...

We had a chance at rain this morning but it didn't materialize.  It's about 83 degrees, sunny, and not muggy!

What do people want for dinner today?

That is a cute story.  I was thinking of steak and baked potatoes on the grill tonite so they'll be ready in about half an hour.  I had some steak leftover from the weekend and about 15 pounds of 'taters.  For toppings there'll be sour cream, butter, cheese, and bacon bits.  I think there's some greens left over from the salads the other day so we'll put those out too.  Enjoy!  Chef [C=:-)]

By your signature I doubt it!  Unless there's a shortage of viaducts that would necessitate the rest to be delivered somewhere....

We had a cold front come through here yesterday afternoon, and right now the conditions here in Sioux Falls are much more comfortable. At the present moment we have a temp of 81 degrees and the wind is out of the north at 14 mph. And one more thing.........the humidity is 33%, and that makes a huge difference here, as at this time of the year it could be much higher than that. Perhaps Willy has been doing something constructive with his weather machine. The guy who does my yard for me was telling me that he sure wishes it would rain here. And I must admit, it is kind of dry here.

I had a late lunch after finishing work at Wendy's, I had a bacon & cheese potato, the Black Forest Ham & Swiss Frescata sandwich, a medium Sprite and a medium chocolate Frosty. I walked into a disaster this morning at Wendy's, there was a ton of stuff waiting to be washed, which I figure was left over by who ever had closed up last night, and every time I'd turn around the manager would be asking me to do something else. So all in all it has been a pretty busy day for me. I won't complain though, I'm just happy to have a job to report to!

That pic was my favorite one so far of her. I just love that face of hers.

I dunno if later I will turn my baby into a potato freak, Mommy is already one. But if that happens, there will be no shortage of them here in the Diner.

A night time cup of decaf tea should do me, then I am hitting the hay.  See you all tomorrow, if things aren't too crazy around here

Not when it's this humid!!

(at least we have had some much needed rain)

Dan, thanks for taking over the "Cooks Duties", I know that it's appreciated.

Duff, that is a very adorable picture of Sadie, and I understand why you're so proud.

Mookie, could have used some of that "daylight" getting one person off to work, and another one off to the doctors office. I think I'm ready for a nap!!

Walt I guess I got spoiled because our humidity has left the building for a while and lately mornings have been pretty nice!  I don't mind helping out, heck it's only fair!  I get to play mechanic at work today.  We've got 4 pieces of equipment that need some TLC and I drew the short straw!  Kidding...I like tinkering with things.  The more expensive, the more fun!  One of our treadmills cost several thousand dollars and I have to replace several parts inside the motor of one and the computer on another.  If anyone smells smoke later it's because I'm coming back from getting electrocuted!

Good morning everyone!

It is going to be beautiful here today. Lots of sunshine and a high near 80 degrees. I shouldn't forget the fact that dewpoints are going to be in the 50s rather than 60s and 70s too. However, it looks like by Monday and Tuesday we could be facing upper 90s for highs. Crazy Nebraska weather.

In any event, it looks like a nice day to go to a baseball game. Of course I'm sure that the Omaha Royals will suffer a horrible defeat since they seem to lose every game I go to. Perhaps someday I'll be banned from going to ballgames. Shock [:O]

Willy - it can't be that - you don't go to any of the Husker FB games.......

So now we are down to just the College World Series as a showpiece.....

Dan - can you reach the peanut butter for me?  And don't any of you laugh while I try to get it off the roof of ma mouf....

Walt - did she say "Ahhh"?

Sir Chicken - if you wash de Boyz, do they fade?

I think I have my eyes open a little now.  I wasn't sure this morning if I could do 1.5 more days or not, but I might just make it, now.  Daughter in town - Mookie is going to get a ride through town in a canary yellow Mustang convertible - with the top down.  It will take weeks before I get back to anything close to normal.  Wonder if the darn thing has an anchor and parachute....

I need to lie down awhile....think I am having a panic attack....
