I'd like to have an argument, please.

Not just the five-minute argument, the full half-hour!

Not quite that bad, but "they" are out there. Never ran into one on a train, though.

The only way I can see connecting this thread to trains is maybe through meals in a dining car. If I order a BLT, pepperoni pizza, or sausage and eggs...basically anything with pork products, that does not make me anti-Semitic or anti-7th Day Adventist. If I order chili or steak on Good Friday that does not make me anti-Catholic. If I drive a car made in an Asian country (that unlikely had Christians working on the assembly line) that does not make me anti-Christian.

cxsengineer98, you're okay after all... Anyone that likes Red Dwarf and all the other shows that you mentioned is a great human being in my book.

As for JerlonWConely and his "Religious fanatics" topic here. I'd have to ask him if he learned anything from all the responses ?. I also want to say that, people that write religious matter on the forum aren't hurting anything. If you don't like it, just ignore it and move on. I'd rather have people like them writing things like that than a bunch of vulgarism, cursing and so forth like on other forums that are no fun at all to be a member of...

Two quick points.
I'm personally not particularly religious but I figured out a long time ago that American culture and society has a lot less to fear from evangelical christians than it does from evangelical atheists.
Point two: reviewing the posts on this topic do I detect a distinct difference in the level of vehemence between the two sides? Aren't those who were originally charcterized as "fanatics" the ones showing the most restraint?

And lead us not into Penn Station

But if you are strong you can overcome temptation and sometimes the test is worth taking just to come out OK and know you are OK.

Ever been offered a sure shady deal and turned it down?

That is one thing where religion helps some people. It helped me.

Others don't need it.

Others use it for justification of the shady deal.

Good and bad in every population.

Yes there is a Spanish Inquisition today. If a man and woman walk on the street together in Saudi Arabia, the woman may not live and the man will suffer.

Similarly, if you hold a Christian prayer meeting publicly. Or even the wrong kind of Muslim prayer meeting.

And this kind of thing (the first kind) has been imported to place a few miles from my present place thanks to Carter, Clinton, and Mitchell (and the Israeli left politicians) calling rewarding terrorism a Peace Process.

The terrorist our troops in Iraq are fighting are the modern version of the Spanish Inquisitors.

And it would not be the problem today without the problem having been helped, not the solution but the problem, by my Alma Mater MIT and its educated mangers at GM.

GM fights public transit by funding conservative think tanks that oppose it and also oppose money for Amtrak.

GM fought the compact revolution back in the 50's until it was forced to bring out compacts.

Had an agreement with Toyota to use Hybrid technology in 1999 but did not use it even after 11 nov. '01.

And again fuel cell hydrogen has been sold to the American public as a step toward enegy independence but is anything but. One-tenth the efficiency of a trolley-wire or third-rail application, one-fifth the efficiency of batteries.

Steel wheel on steel rail still is the most efficient form of transportation around. The Swiss have decided to abandon an auto based economy and return to the rails. So the whole matter IS railroad related.

This is what thay call and "argument from silence" which in any critical study, biblical or otherwise, is a fallicy. The fact that something is never mentioned proves only that it is not discusses and cannot be construed as "proof" that is does not exist. The same principle applies not only to biblical studies but to philosopgy, literature, law, etc. Therefore this argument holds no water.
