We have nice clear blue sky here this morning.  Frosty earlier, but bright sunshine took care of it as soon as it was shining on the grass....

Terrible conditions still underway in the east around Jersey / NY area.....So terrible.  Those who will....Pray for those folks to get thru this.

Good Thursday morning all.  BC, glad your ankle is doing better.  And thank you, BC, for getting breakfast ready this morning!

Starting out with temps in the low to mid 30s, going for a high in the low to mid 50s again today.  We seem to be stuck in this particular pattern; but, at least we're supposed to see a bit more sunshine today.  Which is good, as for today and tomorrow, I have doctor appointments.  Regular checkup w/primary care doctor today, and the cardiovascular doctor tomorrow.

Want to wish a Very Happy Birthday to Walt (locomutt), who turns 62 years young today!!  Happy B-Day Happy B-Day Happy B-Day Happy B-Day  Hope you have a great day, enjoy and  Many Happy Returns to you!!

You all have a good morning, take care and see you all sometime this afternon.

And because of that I did a few things outside with the neighbour clearing out our eavestrough from the lovely Maple trees growing on it....he did the gruntwork and I did the 'supervising'...Whistling

Then spent the last little while exercising and icing the ankle..it does feel a bit better now....Black Eye

Good afternoon and peace be with you. Wife and I went to the quack for our quarterly checkup and decided to get a flu shot. Nurse came in with a needle meant for large men or small horses.... She had a tiny one for the wife. Anyway, got some disturbing news from the doc about obamacare and people 70 or older. Won't say more than we old codgers have a rough road ahead if we make it past 70.

Came home to find the computer acting up, and even worse, the tools to fix it weren't accessible. Finally got it to do a system restore and now it seems to be chugging along very well. My audio card went belly up lastweek, so I'm waiting for the new one to show up.

CSX had people at every crossing on the way home passing out a paper on driver safety and trains. It didn't say, but I assume it was Operation Lifesaver related.

Thass about all. Everyone stay safe and keep warm.

Afternoon all.  Looks like we're having a pretty slow day in here today.

Lunch/supper is ready and now on the warmer station:

1.  Burgers, cheeseburgers, fries, garden salad

2.  Grilled chicken, steak, pork chops w/broccoli spears, corn, peas, baked taters w/butter and biscuits

Drizzles/sprinkles seem to be out of here now, and the sky is beginning to lighten a bit.  Need to make a run to the store, so everyone have a good afternoon, and see you all later.

Bright sunshine here this morning....and not as cool as yesterday.  B C....You are dure to have a better "luck" run in your daily routine....Sure hope so.

Looks like several warmer days are on tap next.  Welcome...!  Yard mowing coming up in a day or two.

May we hope to see our political system get set to really do some work together, for the good of our country....Hope much of the nastiness subsides.....We can hope, can't we....

Good Evening/Morning

OK...So it is morning now...Sigh

Well, had to spend more time at the doctors as my ankle has decided to become all twisted up after I did a face  plant out in the parking lot at w**k today...I was supposed to start w**k at w**k but seeing as how I bent my ankle out of whack I've got another 2 weeks tacked on...Grumpy...they want me healthy here y'know...Whistling

So..later on today, hopefully I will be having some frozen veggies already for my ankle as well as my gelpack....sigh...Sigh

.....Including the line outside and inside our Precinct voting location today, it took me 55 minutes to vote.  Electronic machines, were a breeze.

Don't believe I've ever seen such a line at our {church}, location of voting.....in the past 45 years.

Well, the three of us went and cast our votes about 11:30 this morning.  Where we vote, there has never been a line out the door into the hallway:  until today.  Three precincts in one building.  So they had someone inside the door, asking for address, and letting you know which table to go to.  Guess we were in there about 30, 45 minutes.

Our Tuesday Mexican Fiesta is now underway and on the warmer station:

1.  Tacos (soft shell and crunchy shell)

2.  Burritos (beef, beef & bean and beef enchilada style)

3.  Enchiladas

4.  Spanish rice

5.  Mesquite grilled porterhouse steaks

6.  Mesquite grilled 2 in. thick pork chops

And we have the usual appetizers of tortilla chips w/your choice of salsa, picante sauce, hot pepper sauce and con quaso (sp?).

Everyone enjoy, have a good afternoon/evening, take care and see you all later.

I cast ballot number 90 at our polling place.  Given the hour (10AM) and the small size of our community, I take that to be a sign that people are getting out and voting.

Nice day here - lots of sun.

Noticed that the furnace wasn't running "right," so I did a little investigating and found that the blower drive belt was loose.  It's fixed now!  Changed the filters, too.

Which reminds me - it's time for an oil change in the truck.

On to other projects.

A good start for our Tuesday here....Bright sunshine and a bright blue sky.  30 degrees earlier with frost.

Guess my next task will be to go vote.  Believe I'll try for between 10 and 10:30 and see if that might keep the line at a min.  Before the lunch crowd.

No wind here this morning....Wonder if that's because the massive political blasts have subsided.....

Hope it warms up a bit so I can do at least one more mowing....It's looking pretty good now, but one more run would get the last of this season's leaves.  I had less work with them this year than most....Perhaps the winds did a lot of the job for me.

And if I can do one more mowing, the trimmed grass will allow any more to blow on easier...

Hope we have a good clean vote process across the country today....We all know there has been efforts to the contrary, but lets hope that will be very minimum.  Better yet, none at all.

Good Tuesday morning all.  40 degrees here in Louisville this morning, going for a high in the low 50s again.  Should see a mix of sun and clouds, becoming more cloudy as the afternoon rolls around, with a chance of some rain sometime after 6 p.m. tonight.

EVERYONE REMEMBER TO GO TO THE POLLS TODAY, AND CAST YOUR BALLOT.

REMEMBER, IF YOU DON'T VOTE, DON'T COMPLAIN!!

BC, thank you very much for taking care of breakfast this morning!  I really appreciate the help you guys give in here.

Everyone have a good day, take care, and I'll see you all this afternoon.

Good Evening

Our weather gave us what we expected. Plenty of dull dull dull dull and not much else...tomorrow the sun will show...for a few seconds....

Today was a slooooooooooowwwwww day for me. even my mall walking was slow..instead of my usual trip to Springbank Park it was a trip to the mall and a couple of easy laps around the shops...the chest pains turned out to be something I never heard of.....pulled chest muscles...must have been from lifting a few things into the closet shelves....oh joy....

Anyways...gonna go and see what is up on the forums now...have a good evening!!!

Sunshine to start our day earlier....and 28 degrees.  But no wind, and the sunshine is melting the frost.

Now it's time {after being on here now for a while}, to get ready to have the great experience of another root canal start this morning in about a half hour.  Best to all for a good week.  Must run.

Reports from friends and acquaintances on the affected areas indicate that it really is a mess there.  Of course, there's always some controversy.

One guy I saw this past weekend said that his office, in NW Jersey, was still without power, as it appears that restoration efforts are focusing on the coastal areas.

A local forum offers sympathy, but not too much, for those "inconvenienced" (as opposed to those who suffered losses - some significant), especially since we went through the Ice Storm in '98 (7-10 days without power for most - longer for some) with a fraction of the controversy that seems to be occurring in the affected areas.

I'm sure that everyone is doing their best to make things better, but I suspect that for some folks, the issue is that it hasn't already been made to be "like it never happened" yet.

Good Monday morning all.  33 degrees here in Louisville this morning, going for a high in the low 50s again for most of this week, probably until Thursday, when we'll be back into the 60s for highs.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh  and ready to go.  Breakfast is also ready and on the warmer station.

It's going to be a busy, busy week around home.  Have several things that need to be gotten done, as well as a couple of regular doctor appointments for myself.  So, if you don't see me back in today, you'll know why.

You all have a good day, take care and see you all later.

.....Oh my...just finished a great phone call from out east.....How wonderful...it's keeping my going.  Our Lord is good.

But one problem...A friend over in Levittown with her fellow on oxygen and very sick, I've not heard from since the storm....We were exchanging emails prior to that every day...and now no word  from her yet......

I did email her to get in touch with the authorities she has a very weak person on oxygen before the mess hit, so maybe....I sure hope so, they may have been evacuated....

Here....a cool day in the upper 40's and mostly dry....some sun, now and then.

And now....the possibility of another system coming close to the same area again.....Lord I hope the projections are wrong.

Tomorrow I have the pleasure to go and have another root canal started.

Best to all for a good new week.

I encountered SNOW on I-81 this morning on the way to the second day of the model train show in Syracuse.  It was accumulating on the grass and trees, but the road was warm enough that it didn't cause problems.

It had all the appearances of good ole "lake effect."

The show went pretty well - plenty of information given out and lots of contact made.

One tool I use for corralling the kids is a plush "FRED," which includes a small door (just like our real versions).  Fred doesn't flash, he smiles, and instead of a charging cord inside the door, the kids find candy.  It's cute, and it gives mom and dad a chance to look over our display - and see what we have to offer for rides and events.

Marketing - you gotta love it.

I am glad that the show is over.  Next up - The Polar Express!

Afternoon all.  Sunday school & Church went well this morning, although the santuary was a little bit on the cool side this morning:  a few of us kept/or put our coats back on.

Having something a little bit different for our Sunday Dinner:

I have set out various kinds of meats, cheeses, etc., and you can create your own subs/hoagies.  Also fixed a meat loaf, mashed taters, beans, slaw, & garden salad, if anyone doesn't want a hoagie/sub.

Everyone have a good evening, take care and see you all in the morning.
