If so....They must have made a direct hit. I've not been paying any attention how many "stars" or whatever "markings' is associated with our ID's until I clicked on my lone "Star" and I had something like 28 posts in about 11 years....! Duh...!
I suppose that got me to wondering....

Peace be with you. 36 and clear, up from 33 at sunrise in Carolina, expected to make it to 71.
We had a tolerable Thanksgiving. Altho there was no feast, we stayed home and ate well. I prefer that since I can get what I want without the hassle.
The big game of the year in Carolina is tomorrow. The rest of the season really is extraneous. The Carolina THUNDERCHICKENS play the Clemson Wampus Kitties for state bragging rights

Good Morning
High today...44F....and rainy....back to 'normal'
Today is the start of the Xmas Walk...I will be in hiding.....in the basement...like the 'creature' I am
Spring is already down there...in hiding....
Have a good one!!

Larry.........With your "geek" knowledge on here....why are your and my post numbers count simply in double digit count.....When we know they are in among the highest group....?
Telephones....I'm in a situation now where I'm making long distance telephone calls of one hour plus time elements....500 mil....distance. And several a week...!
So with some advertisements today....{plenty of them}, of course for black Friday....I was reminded of Magic Jack, etc.....20 dollars a year, etc.....etc....And if one had one of them to simply use for that purpose....sounds like a real deal....So I have read some reviews....Some good...and some later, some questions....Any words of wisdom on this subject out there...? I would retain all other phones here which include a triple set of wireless {but usless if power goes off}, and one hard wired wall phone in the kitchen....And my cell phone...{not smart phone}....Just a phone and camera....of which I've been connected to same provider since 1989...and I too still have the same phone number on it.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone, I hope you all get to enjoy time with your loved ones!
I just looked out back and can see our neighbors behind us, back porch. There is an igloo sitting by the back door.
I think the turkey fairy must have made a delivery overnite.
Happy Thanksgiving!
No problem with warm here in the wilds of northern New York today - high in the mid 50's. I need to overhaul my bulb garden - I kinda wish I wasn't planning on Thanksgiving dinner, since this may be one of the last good days. If I get right to it this morning, I might be able to get through most of it.
Looking like maybe some rain and even snow flurries over the next few days - more fun on the railroad...

Here we are enshrouded in dear old fog again...currently sitting at 45F going for 56F later in the day...
We got finished with the decorating last night....now all we need to do is wait for chaos to develop here with the tourists... For the past few years we have had this Xmas Walk in our area .... this year, 12 houses on the tour...getting a little busy here....
Anyways...have a great Thanksgiving...and be safe out there!!!
Peace be with you. 40 and clear in Carolina at sunrise, with 66 expected later. My girls got to arguing politics around 0600 that degenerated into a knockdown dragout fight that woke up the whole house. Me especially since they were on my bed. After evicting them, I find myself wide awake, but doubt that will last for long.
I wish everyone a happy and fulfilling Thanksgiving. I doubt that we will try to eat out this year for a variety of reasons. We are pretty much alone now except for one nephew who grows more distant as time passes.
Everyone have a great day day and stay safe and warm
Good Thursday morning, and Happy Thanksgiving to everybody!! Kept busy yesterday, helping my sis-in-law with baking, preparing for our Turkey Day today. Right now, everyone except me, are still asleep (brother worked last night, so was probably 1 or 2 a.m. this morning before he went to bed).
Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go. On the warmer station this morning:
Pumpkin flavored oatmeal w/bacon and toast
Sweet potato waffles w/bacon, scrambled eggs, and toast
Everyone have a Safe Day today, don't overeat too much, and you all take care.
I have even weirder things....iPhone for work and Palm Pre 2 for home.
iPad for music production...yes, it even has Ampsims...Amplifier Simulation programs in it.
I'm nuts that way....
I think I've had a cell phone continuously for almost 20 years - in fact, I still have the same number I started with.
Made the jump to a smart phone last winter. I'm a bit of a geek that way, and have a lot of "apps" on it, ranging from GPS stuff to a drug database to a couple of games.
I also get our fire and EMS dispatches on it as text messages. Really handy to have the address, especially if I couldn't make a note of it during the voice dispatch. In fact, I have an app on the device that will tell me how to get to where the call is...
Funny to think that this thing I carry around on my belt is many times more powerful than the first mainframe computer I worked on.
I still maintain my "land line," although it's bundled with my cable. I got one of those multi-handset wireless systems. Not because I need all of them, but because I hate having to jump up and run across the house to answer the phone. It's got a built in answering machine, too.
If I'd had decent cell service here at the house when I went for the cable bundle, I probably would have skipped the phone part and gone with just my cell phone.
Cellphones: I never used one until Ricki and I traveled five and a half years ago; we borrowed one to take with us. After we returned home, I bought one with the best plan of all for my use: pay so much for so many minutes, and I have a year to use the time. I use it only when I absolutely have to, such as calling AAA when my car would not start when I was away from the house, and calling Amtrak to ask how the train I am going to take at a way station is running. Very few people know the number (Carl has it so we can get together when I am in the Chicago area), and I keep it turned off unless I am expecting a call.
As to house telephones, I rely on the land line. There is a telephone by the doorway between the living room and the kitchen, one on my desk (bottom level of the house), one on Ricki's desk (in the room over the room where I am now; seldom used now), one in the bedroom, and one in the upstairs bathroom. We also got four telephones that rely on wireless connection to the landline--one near the backdoor (we sat at that end of the table to eat), one by Ricki's chair (now by my chair) in the living room, one on my desk, and one on Ricki's desk; they also can be used for in-house communication.
Since satisfaction brings the cat back, it may be allowable for curiosity to take its course.

Happy Thanksgiving from Carolina to all of yall wherever ye may be. Have a super and safe day of giving thanks for all we are blessed with!
I flew today, too. Except it was into a rage!
I am exhausted!
Not preparing for turkey day - no, I had to replace our old answering machine. And due to not feeling safe w/o a cell phone when we are out and about, I bought a cell phone. ( Had one many years ago and finally threw it away - it was too heavy and I never called anyone but the Driver and he was always sitting right next to me. I could throw the phone at him to get his attention. )
Answering machine - comes with a manual that makes the Oxford Dictionary look like a leaflet. And a ring so loud the neighbors 3 houses down jump! Try finding "turn down ringer" in that 40 pound door stop!
And a portable 2nd handset, too. Guess that is for the bathroom. Except I spend a lot of time upstairs where the sandbox is (and the puter) and the portable is downstairs - exactly 6 feet from the stupid phone (convenient for recliner time) 15 stairs down - 15 stairs up - You can see where this is going.
Cell phone - what a disaster! It rang for the first time in my purse and I kept looking around to see what that horrible noise was and why it didn't stop.
It is tiny - about as thick as a quarter and has volume and camera controls on the sides. Well, guess who turns the volume down only to have it sound like a fire alarm because I accidently pushed the volume control - up, of course. And how many pictures of my feet or the wall/ceiling do I need? How do you make calls on these when you can't find a blank place to grab them!
The Driver sez life was so much simpler in pioneer days. You traveled in a covered wagon and you could tell your friends, who were right there with you - "ate out again today...it was good!"
Moo....
I flew back home to San Antonio from Shreveport today. Early morning flights. No delays. Even DFW airport was tolerable during the connection.
Hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving.
Gotta wash our new fire truck so it looks nice and spiffy for the commissioners tonight.
I did get all the groceries for dinner tomorrow. Which reminds me, I better get my cranberry relish made. It's better if it sits and mulls for a day.
But I'm not getting anything done sitting at the computer!
Later! Travel safe if you're travelling, and remember that turkey and stuffing have no calories...
Our day before Thanksgiving when so many are hurrying around getting ready....or on the way to grandmas....our weather is perfect. Warmer than yesterday still, and blue sky, and sunshine.
My hurrying around this morning was to my dentist to have a temp. crown removed and install the perm one, and eveything went rosy.
We are currently sitting at 28F and having our dear friend, Freezing Fog, with us'uns...as per usual....
The 3 Xmas trees are up and we have the Pineapple .... actually, an old stone thing I found at a local flea market...on the front porch. Still have some lights to put up though...that could take some doing..considering my ankle still likes to complain...a lot... Oh...and Spring already claimed them as his own....
to all in need, sickness and otherwise....
good morning
a bit foggy outside.glad to be home.have things to do around here.breakfast is ready.Happy thanksgiving everyone.

Deshler Ohio-crossroads of the B&O Matt eats your fries.YUM! Clinton st viaduct undefeated against too tall trucks!!!(voted to be called the "Clinton St. can opener").
Afternoon all. A very cool 64 cloudy degrees here in Shepherdsville, KY.
Joe and BC, thank you two for taking over so well for me, when I can't make it in here, particulary in the mornings. Getting two little girls up, make sure they get dressed, eat, etc. is a very good morning workout exercise wise: going back and forth to their bedroom, especially with the 3 year old. When she gets up, she wants to start playing, or turn on the TV and watch Nickolodean, or other cartoons.
Everyone have a good evening, take care, and see you when I can. Happy Thanksgiving to all, and travelers, take care going to see relatives, Black Friday shopping, whatever else is on your agenda.
Go Blue!
Feel free to hum along!

Blownout Cylinder, it's good to hear you report a positive status in your continued effort with the health issue.
Here in Muncie we have a cloudy to partly cloudy sky and moderate temps for all this week for this time of the year....To be good Thanksgiving day too...
So our best wishes to all who will be traveling and to have a great family get together....
Well, we are covered in that wonderful freezing fog again this morning, currently sitting at 27F going up to 50F later on...
The doctor appointment went as well as it could...no more sessions required!!! YAY!!! And...to top it off...my numbers are where they should be!!! And...no more wandering around dressed up as Bubble Boy....
The breakfast cart is all done up and we are getting the lunch ready as well...have a great day!!!
Since it is now lunch time, I've taken the roast, taters & carrots from yesterday, and have fixed beef stew, and just took cornbread out of the oven. Everything is on the warmer station. Hope you all enjoy, have a good afternoon, and take care.
My first two Polar Express trips for the year are done. Things are going smoothly. Now it's time to look forward to our Christmas trains next weekend. It'll be our most taxing weekend of the year, equipment-wise, as we're running two full-sized trains at the same time. A real challenge in logistics.
Lots to do this week, too. Better get to it!
well monday is done.new peeps in our department.Cw I found some breakfast.matt is off after tomorrow as well.Time for bed.chores to do this afternoon.
