Surprise....Justin, we're up to 30.9 degrees, with sunshine thru light clouds.  I didn't think we'd get this much temp today.

We're up against some stuff coming {at least almost our way}, both tonight and for now, looks like Christmas Eve day too....Hope the latter one doesn't keep us away from our Christmas Eve Church service.  Have about 2" of the stuff that's been here a while.  In fact, this is the warmest we've seen for a while.

Good morning all!

Were sitting right about 20*F this morning, and it doesn’t look like it is going to be getting warmer. Here are a few of my new photos. Enjoy!

Be safe!

Good Morning...

Welp, it is a mite cccold out here...15F--dropped a couple since 7am---sheeesh---supposed to get all the way to the mighty 25F today---which is a spot better than it was all last week....BBRRRRRRR....

Thanks, Murray. I'm doing much better. The only problem I'm having now is not to forget icing the shoulder as well as not lifting my left arm over shoulder heightConfused So far, no pain. No 'treatments'--knock on arborite...and no infection setting in on the incision site---we'll find out tomorrow how the ICD is doing though...Whistling

Today is going to be spent picking up the last remaining gifty things i got to pick up and straightening out the bedroom closet---so I can jam MORE STUFF INTO said closet...MischiefSmile, Wink & Grin

Morning all....

Will be hopping back into the truck shortly, hopefully will get a load out of Eau Claire to stay ahead of the snow coming this way, will probably be a week of short runs and local work.  Supposed to be a second storm just in time for xmas eve, could be a good sized one for southern Wisconsin.....

Thanks for breakfast, back to playing in traffic.....

Bradd, you can have as little or as much as you want.  I was brought up in the country, so there is always enough food for a small army, no matter if the meal is breakfast, lunch or supper.

Ah, Sunday Evening.

We're done for the season on the railroad - nothing going on until the snow melts, for the most part (at least not on the rails - plenty of winter projects).

Thirty-three successful Polar Express trips (that's over 11,000 happy riders, not to mention a whole lot of hot cocoa), and I was in charge of the last trip).

Did I mention it was cold?  It was about 15F as we rolled into the station from the last trip Saturday night, and dropped to near zero overnight.

Not that we cared - we were unwinding at a local restaurant and at the hotel.  I'm sure the hotel staff really appreciates our "redecorating" of their lobby...  Nothing malicious, mind you, but we all do need someplace to sit...

A little snow in the driveway on my return, but the ol' snowblower made short work of that.

Dinner was delicious.  Now it's time for bed!

Mookie:  you're right; 26 degrees is too cold to be on a motorcycle.  Heck, its too cold here for Walt to ride his bicycle!

Here is our Sunday Dinner menu:

1.  Moo Goo Gai Pan combo

2.  Sweet and sour Shrimp

3.  Beef w/broccoli

4.  Chicken chow mein

5.  Beef w/snow peas

6.  Beef, Chicken or Shrimp Lo Mein

7.  Roast pork egg foo young

8.  Pepper steak

And, for anyone who doesn't like Chinese food:

Country fried steak w/mashed taters, milk gravy, biscuits, green beans and corn, along with tossed salad.

We have a little bit of sunshine, and temp is up to 31 degrees, according to my homepage here on the computer.  Everyone enjoy, have a good afternoon, and take care.

Mookie

I don't know - 26 sounds cold to me - and I am used to sub-zero weather (as much as you get used to it).  But on a motorcycle?  Mah nose would never work again.

I am not going out in no dang snow with no dang bike...not at that temperature!!Laugh I think me fingers would be all froze up...

Good morning everyone! 26 degrees in NC this morning. Rode the motorcycle to get inspected yesterday, and it instantly brought back a bunch of great old memories of riding in the winter in Philly when I was 16. Gonna head out to the gas station soon to fill up and put some Stabil in the tank. Hopefully that will do it for my winter riding...

Good Sunday morning , everyone.  Mookie, you're very welcome.  Most of the time, I can eat a whole small or medium pizza, depending on how hungry I am.  Most of the time, though, I get either the Red Baron Twin Singles, or DeGiorno for One pizzas.

Joe, thanks so much for taking care of breakfast again this morning.  I got waylaid by a very slow starting computer this morning.

Very chilly outside this morning, with a temp of 24 degrees when I awoke at 5:32.  Probably down to 21 or 22 degrees now.  I think I heard that our temp is to get to 32 degrees this afternoon.  We may see a little bit of sunshine.

Everyone have a good morning, take care, those of you going to Church, work or, if you're really braving the cold, railfanning.  and Larry, make sure you're bundled up to work on the railroad.  and that goes for any of our forum family who works on the railroad.

A little snow on the ground this morning, and a little rain this afternoon, with the temperature up in the forties during the day.

Ricki is more alert now and we discussed family Christmas gifts this afternoon, but her speech is still slow. She was supposed to have 4-6 half-hour sessions of therapy this morning, and she was wondering why she had only two.

Brrr.....

In Eau Claire tonight, decided to grab a hotel room tonight, get out of a cramped truck for a night.  Truck is still running outside, supposed to drop to zero tonight, so want to keep truck and fuel warm.  Should be home come Thursday for about two weeks for holidays and doctor appointment.

Brad, I can't take full credit for that line, I actually found it in a 'Hot Times On The High Iron' episode by J.D. Santucci, and thought it hilarious.  I'm actually too young for SCTV, being born in '79.

See everyone later.....

Still cold and dreary here in Louisville, but at least it was a little bit "warmer" today, and not quite as breezy.

Here is our Pizza Menu for tonight:

1.  Anchovie

2.  Canadian bacon

3.  Cheese

4.  Chicago style

5.  Goetta

6.  Hawaiian

7.  Italian sausage

8.  Pepperoni/mushroom

9.  Supreme

For dessert, we have some nice, hot from the oven cobblers:  apple, blueberry, cherry, and peach.

I hope everyone is keeping warm, and that you've all had a pretty good day today.  Have a very good evening and take care.

....Sunshine and blue skies here today.  Believe we had about 15 this morning for the low around 8 am when I first looked.

Cold is the word for us the next few days. 8.5" total snow here so far this season, and that's a bit ahead of last year.

Good Saturday morning everyone.  And Joe, thank you for taking care of breakfast this morning.  I've been up since just before 5, but decided to be lazy this morning.

I'll be sure to save you three some pizza tonight.  With hardly anyone coming in here lately (or at least hardly anyone posting), will probably just make two of each kind of pizza.

Everyone have a great day, be safe while you're out and about, stay warm as possible, and take care.  See you all later.

Sounds like a good idea, Ray.

Quentin, yep, we still have ice on the sidewalks, side streets and grassy areas.  No sunshine or tad bit warmer temps to get rid of it.  The meterologists are calling for more snow, starting sometime Tuesday afternoon, evening, on thru Wednesday.  So far, predicted total is one to two inches.

Here is our menu for tonight:

FISH:  bass, catfish, cod, flounder, haddock, hallibut, jumbo butterfly shrimp, talapia

Side Dishes:  baked beans, cole slaw, corn on the cob, breaded deepfried mushrooms, fries, hush puppies and mac & cheese

Desserts:  chocolate cake w/white icing, yellow cake w/chocolate icing, apple, peach and strawberry cobblers, blackberry, blueberry and pecan pies.  Ice cream, if anyone wants it.

Everyone enjoy your supper/dinner, have a good evening, and take care.  Think Walt and I are going to put up our Christmas tree and start decorating it this evening.

Right now we have a temp of 12 degrees here in Sioux Falls and we have a wind chil factor of 1 above 0. It will not get much warmer here than that this afternoon.

I am planning on baking bread and then making the trek to US Bank in downtown Sioux Falls where my brother Tim works, tomorrow is his birthday and I want to present him with a loaf of freshly baked bread.  Chef

CW, Ed Blysard and a couple others have recommended that I post my Dad's story of Shep during the Christmas season every year, and I will do that. I have Dad's original narated version on a CD, along with the story of Alfred Burt and his Christmas Carols, this story which I had presented in this forum within the last few years. If anyone would like a copy of the CD, I think it might be feasible for me to burn off extra CD's with my computer.....if I can figure out how to do that.

Email back up and running.  Had to really go into this machine these last few days to see if we could take care of several problems....such as slow operation...."not responding on pages"....Something was really messing with it.  So after several days working thru several programs along with my ISP {Comcast} help and support group, we're in much better shape now, but still trying to fine tune where I want it to be.  Had to reinstall SP 2.

Outside right now....Just a few snow flurries, and overcast.  Don't know of any serious systems to bother us much today....25 earlier this morning.  But I see some parts of  {particularly} the south and east, has some weather brewing.

Sounds like ice down in Walt's / CW's area....So far this season, we've stayed clear of that stuff.  But snow fall is above avg. so far for this time of the season.  Thankfully though, it has come in small amounts at a time....Not a big overbearing snowfall at once.

Good Friday morning, everyone.  Cloudy, with a temp of 28 degrees on this Friday morn.  Temp's not going to rise much today, our projected high is to be 31 degrees.

Coffee, juices, hot chocolate, hot cider, and hot water for tea are fresh and ready to go.  Mookie, if you're here, your coffee mug is ready for you.

On the serving station this morning:  turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, toast, french toast, bagels, bear claws.

I hope everyone is doing o.k. this morning.  Think maybe we need to take roll call, as it's been quite slow in here lately.  Remember Tom this morning, as he's scheduled to have his surgery in a little over an hour.

Everyone take care, have a good morning, and see you all later on.
