Good morning Dan and Mookie!  It is really good to see you both in here.

Mookie, sorry to hear about the pit bull/mixed breeds biting the children.  We have a lot of that going on in our area, also.  I always hate to hear it.  Hopefully, they (authorities) will find the owner(s).  And I pray that the children will be all right.  Of course, now they'll probably now be afraid of all dogs.  I've known/know people who are that way now, after an encounter with a dog.

The chili is ready and on the serving station.  Three pots, all marked, so no one will get into the wrong pot for their chili.  And there's also some more cold pizza for anyone who wants that.

Getting ready to go to the local neighborhood Kroger and get the fixings for Walt to make a pot of chili here at home for tonight.  See you all later and take care/keep warm.

Dan - we have had some problems in Omaha with pitbull attacks on humans.  Don't know details, but wonder if they (dogs) either got loose or were just running loose and saw an opportunity.  Doubt they will find the owners, but will watch for details.

Pass the cold Pizza, please.

Morning...though I've been up for 3.5 hours already.  It's 22F with light snow and a WNW wind at 13, so it feels like 10F outside...welcome to December.

So those two kids just got off the bus and the dogs attacked "out of the blue"?  Hmm...either way I hope everyone pulls through and some kind of answer is found.  I think I'll sit "um die ecke" and work on some cold Pizza while I figure out what I'm doing today.

Cold.  Blah.  But sunshine will help make it feel better - at least inside.

Dateline Omaha - 2 students (boy & girl - 12) got off the school bus and were attacked by 2 pitbull/mix dogs.  Were bitten all over their bodies  Dogs were picked up later in day.

What have we done to man's best friend?

Going for coffee.  Won't answer question, but will hopefully calm a little.

Good morning, it's December? Yowzers, this year has whizzed by.... 53 degrees and cloudy with a chance of a little more rain early on. The temp is still dropping so it's gonna be a cool one.

Thanks for breakfast and everybody have a great day!

Good Wednesday morning and Happy December 1st.  32 degrees F. here in Louisville this morning, and with the windchill, feels like 22 degrees outside.  We have had a few flurries overnight, but nothing going on right now.  (I have the front door open, so I can see, and nada coming down.)

Coffee, juice, hot chocolate, hot cider, and hot water for tea are ready to go.  On the serving station this morning, you'll find the usual breakfast menu, along with some chocolate cake w/chocolate icing.  (Know of some people who have had their doctor tell them, that if they must have sweets, it's better to have them in the morning, as you'll burn off the calories throughout the day, rather than eat the sweets at night.)

Think I'm going to make some chili today:   seems like a good day for it:  cold, and may see some sunshine today.  I'll have all three kinds:  regular, mild and 3-alarm.  And just in case, there will be hot sauce and tobasco sauce on the counter for anyone who thinks the chili isn't hot enough, taste wise.

Everyone have a very good morning,  take care and I'll see you all later.

Now, I find my place in the bed is full of snoring dogs. I think I shall jump in amidst them and see what happens.....

I've been waiting to hear what the dogs did.

We reached about thirty degrees this afternoon--but it was still cold.

Since there is a school on our street, the city fathers are of the opinion that the street should be plowed--which fills the gutters, and I had to cut out a niche for the trash and recycle bins today (pickup on Wednesdays).

We have had so much snow in the past two weeks that some towns have already had to use a large part of their snow removal  budget, and we still have three and a half months to go before spring.

It's nice not to have to get out on slick streets in the morning; I still remember watching the front end of a car in front of me being clipped by the rear wheels of a big rig in the next lane, turning the car half way around; I was able to move behind the big rig and then move back into my lane before we reached the next light.

It's almost bedtime.

68 degrees and rain, with a tornado watch and some strong storms overnight. Lots of noise on the wireless, so something's afoot. Paula, thanks for supper.

Think I will disconnect the antennas in a few and go to bed.

Everyone take care

Rain and wind overnight.  Should be interesting.

The town highway department brought their man-lift over this afternoon so we could install some equipment on our radio tower at the fire station (it's 50', and not made to hold my weight up at the top, where the antenna had to go).  It got windy while we were working, so we did a little swaying in the bucket.

Then, as we were loading the man-lift back on the trailer, it started to rain.  Close!

Well, I did manage to finally make it back in here.  Been a busy day for me.

Our regular Tuesday Mexican Fiesta is now on the serving station:

Burritos, tacos, Spanish rice, chimichangas, fajitas, quesadillas, enchiladas, refried beans, empanadas, shredded lettuce with diced tomatoes (w/shredded onion on the side, if you want to add that to your lettuce and tomatoes).

You also have the appetizers of tortilla chips and dips.

I'm not sure what our current temp is, other than it is cold and windy outside.  Supposed to get down into the 20s by morning, with some snow.  (We're supposed to have some snow flurries tonight.)

Everyone have a very good evening, keep warm and take care.

I'm going to "produce" today!  If I don't produce some warmer fur, I won't make it to December.

It's hard to be Mrs. Domestic and be wrapped in a blanket.

Got some snizzle overnite.  Sun out now and all will be good in a couple of hours.

Good Tuesday morning everyone. 58 degrees and light rain here in Louisville this morning.  I guess that will be our high today, as the temps are to slowly drop throughout the day.  We may even see some snow flurries/snow showers either this afternoon or evening.

Coffee is ready, as well as fresh juices.  There's also some hot cider and hot chocolate, and hot water for our tea drinkers.  On the serving station this morning:  the usual bagels, bear claws, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, biscuits, gravy and your choice of hash browns or tater tots.

Everyone have a good morning, keep dry if you're in the rain area and take care.  See you all sometime after Produce.

. And, I was pleased to see the Georgia Bulldogs de-sting the North Avenue Trade School Yellowjackets (and, I actually saw someone wearing a jacket with "North Avenue Trade School" on it; I thought that Georgia Tech people did not like that appellation).

Even when I went to the trade school some of my friends had those jackets. (couldn't afford one myself) always been a lot of self deprecation at Tech.y

It is bright and sunshiny today--and cold. It looks as though yesterday's snowfall added 10-12'' to what had already fallen. Instead of reading the morning paper first thing (it had not come until after I had called and complained), I did my civic duty and cleared the sidewalk. Perhaps winter is really here, and I will not be able to finish mulching my leaves until spring?Smile If so, I just as well get my snowthrower out of the storage side and put the lawnmower into the storage side.

Tom, does any other conference have as many bowl-eligible teams? I make it that seven teams should be playing, and if the bowl managers are desperate, three more may be asked. It is interesting how a team that did poorly one year will be excellent the next, and one team that was wonderful one year barely survives the next.

I've set out sandwich fixings for lunch, along with your choice of these soups:

1.  Vegetable beef

2.  Cream of broccoli

3.  Minestrone

Going to take advantage of the nice sunshine and go out to take care of an errand or two.  Everyone have a good afternoon, take care and see you all later.

Johnny, Auburn beat USC earlier in the season, but it was a fluke. This time around, it will be different. Yes, the game used to be played, always at Columbia, during the state fair, and was known as BIG THURSDAY. Some yaehu took the matter to court and a judge forbad it being played at Columbia every time and now we have it at the end of the season here or there.

41 and partly clear in Carolina with a high in the 50s and rain likely later,  Trying to decide whether to- venture out or wait with wait winning. We shall see.

Paula, thanks for breakfast. Everyone take care

Good Monday morning, everyone.  36 degrees at present here in Louisville, going for a high in the low to mid 50s.  Rain not supposed to come in until about 8:00 tonight.

Coffee, juices and other beverages are fresh and ready to go.  Regular breakfast menu on the serving station.

Mudchicken, glad to hear you and Boss hen made it home safely!  Taking roll call this morning, to make sure everyone is safe and sound:  Sound off. . . .

Just back to the house before the snow started (1" to 3" expected here) ...Doing laundry mui-pronto so I can head west tomorrow if the roads allow it.

3 dogs are stuck to us like velcro. It's plain to see that Kansas had a good corn and milo harvest....but the ethanol plants look like a bust. More grain than normal heading overseas this year? Salina, KS looks like a leased locomotive parking lot with lots of 4-axle power of all colors hanging around.

Good morning from SC. home of the USC Thunderchickens, who whomped arch rival Clemson 29-7 yesterday. Next, It's Auburn's turn.

37 degrees and clear this morning. It looks like a good day ahead weatherwise. I am on the wireless looking to see who I can find in the world wide contest that's on this weekend.

Everyone take care

Good evening from the not-so-wild West. Yes, Clemson Tigers are pussycats. Watch out for the rematch next SaturdaySmile. Auburn can be tough, as Alabama found out when the Tide was stemmed this past Friday.

Tom, did not the Clemson-Carolina game used to be played during State Fair week?

Speaking of rivalry, Brigham Young University supporters were shocked when Utah won yesterday--a field goal would have won the game for BYU, but a Ute blocked the kick, which was the last play of the game. Utah played catch-up ball in the fourth quarter, and succeeded. I do not particularly like ketchup in ball games. And, I was pleased to see the Georgia Bulldogs de-sting the North Avenue Trade School Yellowjackets (and, I actually saw someone wearing a jacket with "North Avenue Trade School" on it; I thought that Georgia Tech people did not like that appellation).

It was in the upper twenties when I left for church this morning, with snow lightly falling--and the snow has kept on all day. Tomorrow is supposed to be fair, but Tuesday it is to be cold (below twenty) again. We did have a day or so of close to zero last week. I do not miss clearing the windshield and rear window off before going to work in the morning.

Stay warm and dry.

Our local PBS stations have started their Winter Pledge Drive.  Walt and I watched a program earlier this afternoon on Folk Music:  yes, John Sebastian, Judy Collens, Pete Seeger, Chad Mitchell Trio, etc.  Great trip down Memory Lane!  Now watching a program on 50s music, with Patty Paige, The McGuire Sisters, Pat Boone, The Four Tops, etc.  Another great trip down Memory Lane.

I too enjoy programs on PBS, and especially when it's time to run a Pledge Drive, they can find some really interesting music programing.  But..........{And I really don't want to start anything political}, if anyone enjoys PBS..., start soon to write your incoming Congress leadership, as they have vowed to eliminate all government funding for it....!

Looks like it has been really slow in here today.  So, going on that note, if anyone comes in and is hungry, you can have cold pizza from last night.  Or you can heat up some sloppy joes.  Buns are on the counter, along with some various flavors of tater chips.
