After a soggy Saturday, today turned out pretty well.  Burned down an abandoned farmhouse and a nearby outbuilding, the put everything in order and came home to finish getting ready to hit the road.

Granddaughter #2 hasn't made her appearance yet, so it looks like a relaxing (?) ride down I81, I83, I695, and I97 tomorrow.  Haven't decided if I'm going down 301 and 4 or into Annapolis and down the "back way" to their house.  Might rain, but I can deal with that.  I can live without the "mixing bowl" north of Harrisburg, though.

Back to packing.

Afternoon, everyone.  Nice and hot here in Louisville, although I'm not quite sure what our current official temp is.

Right now, 140 mi. north:  85 degrees, and still dry.

Missed you Johnny by a few hours - Was at CRRM 2pm-5pm for a memorial service. (Did Ma Nature ever ruin that)..

Smell of wet fur x 3 is everywhere here.

MC, I am sorry that we were not able to hookup yesterday. I would have been glad to meet you. We went by the museum here in Denver, but saw that Ricki would have had a hard time getting in and so we drove to Cheyenne (in hard rain most of the way and back (not as much rain).

We hope to leave in the morning, enjoying traversing (through and not around) the Rockies.

Incidentally, it was much warmer east of the Missouri than it is west.

Afternoon, everyone.  Nice and hot here in Louisville, although I'm not quite sure what our current official temp is.

Here is what I have come up with for our Sunday Dinner:

1.  Made from scratch beef noodle casserole

2.  Italian spaghetti w/meat sauce, garlic bread, and a nice cold garden salad.  (You can have the garlic bread and salad with the beef noodle casserole, also.)

Desserts this afternoon:  Apple, peach and cherry pies w/ice cream.

Everyone have a great afternoon, keep safe and see you all later.

For once, the mole talk is not about being at our place....That's a good thing.

Bright, muggy and dry.  Just returned from church and the next venture is out to Olive Garden....Lunch with friends.  Good Spaghetti there.

To reach 90 here today and possible thundershowers but should see some sunshine this afternoon too.

Good Sunday morning, everyone.  Very stuffy morning, with a temp of 80 degrees right now, going for a high of 93 today, with the regular chance of thunderstorms in the heat of the day.

Feels like I'm not alone in here this morning.  Wonder who is with me.  Anyway, coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.

On the serving station this morning:  we have blueberry and strawberry muffins, pancakes w/syrup, and your choice of turkey bacon or sausage patties/links.

Hope you all have a blessed day, keep as cool as possible, and take care.  If anyone has any requests for our Sunday Dinner, please let me know.

Deggesty

A few days ago (I do not remember if it was in the Lounge or Cafe), someone asked about the diet of moles (what does one feed a pet mole?); don't they eat earthworms? Of course, I never thought of keeping one as a pet, but agree with Quentin about the value of moles.

Yes, my value of Moles remains the same as it has been Johnny....I believe they are after Grub Worms as they do their tunneling.

Yes, we did sleep through both Omaha and Lincoln last night. Sorry, Willy and Mookie, if you were down at the station to greet us. A storm in Nebraska (west of Omaha, so Willy can't be blamed) delayed our arrival in Denver this morning.

We drove out to Golden this morning, hoping to tour the museum--but it was raining, so we did not get to see the exhibits (95% are outdoors).

Matt, it's two days early, but I wish you a happy birthday Happy B-Day. My grandfather would always wish me "Many happy returns," and I could not figure out what he meant until years later. He was saying, in effect, "May the day come back many times, with happiness every time."

Carl, you will be missed after you retire, especially when another mixed-up transfer shows up.

......All this talk of lightning, thunder and much rain.....None of those extremes here....Late last night, we did have a half hour or so of rather agressive rain pass thru here.  Just a very few rolls of thunder.

 Rain gauge:  .85"

Humid and moderate in temp this morning...Overcast.  Earlier I saw 72 for our early morning start.

Terrible loss at that flooded camp ground....Fatilities seem to be adding up in big numbers.

MC - we got your "package" during the night - had bright light and loud bang in north bedroom!  I nearly beat The Driver to death it scared me so bad.  Sending it all east, so Brian, et al - hide!

Tom - gag.....

Matt - Have a happy one!  Would really like to check out the cake before you eat it, however.  Might have some problems I could fix....

Tree - happy trip.  And what a nice reason to take one.

Good Saturday morning, everyone.  Uh, Joe, did I miss a birthday, as in Matt's birthday?!?!  If I did, please accept my apologies, and wish a Happy Birthday for us.

Thank you, Joe, for taking care of breakfast this morning.

Sarah got called in to CSX this morning; she had to be in at 7:30, and will be hostling engines today.

Joe, you all have a great time today, and hopefully, you won't get too wet!

Larry, congrats on the eminent arrival of granddaughter #2, and enjoy your babysitting of GD#1!  Hope you all don't get too wet on your burn today.

Seems like we did get some rain overnight, not the heavy stuff they were expecting, though.  Although, we do still have the slight possibility of getting a little bit more this afternoon, with the popup showers/storms.  But basically, we're to have a mostly cloudy day, with a high today in the low 90s.

Everyone enjoy your day, and I'll see you all back in here tonight, for our pizza fest.

Taking my bar of soap and heading outside. Willy and his buddies at the WLU weatherlab have a new prank.

Scorched dusty feathers followed by a hailstone chaser and now flash flood warnings. (Look out mookie-gato!) Going from 90's to high 40's/low 50's.....

Strapping the pontoons on the scotties. Will Lurch float?

Testing, testing, Hallooooooo radio. To clarify a point, Saturday nights are for bathing, unless it is not needed. We do try to get at least in one in every quarter, tho, whether we need it or not. That is, unless it is too cold! One must put things in perspective.

A beautiful day in the neighborhood - wish I'd gone to the NYS fire expo today instead of tomorrow (when it's supposed to rain, with a possibility of thunder).  But a couple of other firefighters are going along, so Saturday it is.

Sunday isn't supposed to be any better, and we're scheduled to do a controlled burn in the morning.   Wet, wet, wet.

Monday it's highway time.  Granddaughter #2 (grandkid #3) is due any day and "Papa" will be on duty watching granddaughter #1, so it's off to Maryland.  Maybe I'll catch a train on the bridge over the Susquehanna at Harrisburg again.

Looks like water over Q & CW.  Just in time for a Friday nite bath?

Mookie, so far we are staying dry; but we're supposed to start getting rained on again sometime later tonight, tomorrow morning.  Our high today was right around 89,90 degrees.  Very humid.

I've refreshed and replenished the serving station with all the fish, the side dishes,  and the desserts, so you all can just go ahead and help yourselves to whatever you'd like from the serving station.

Everyone enjoy, have a great evening, and take care.

Ho

And sunshine is flowing over our waist high corn.....and it's 93 degrees.  But the radar does show some orange and red blotches in Indiana.
