June is such a great month. Flowers are all in bloom, the Tree of Heaven is making my eyes water, brides and grooms galore and my favorite chicken has ANOTHER BIRTHDAY? Wow.....must be a tough old bird by now?
Big hugs from your nemesis "Da Cat!". Stop by and I will let you look at a piece of chocolate cake - right before it disappears!

Enjoy the cool those who have it. 110 in Phoenix today but only 91 in Prescott.
Friend MC have a happy one today. I am sending you an email about RR-ding in CO.
JoeKoh tornado that went to Delta was an F2 and the one in lake twp was an F3.
We have a sunny but cool morning here in central Indiana. Much different than we've been having for some time now.
And Joe mentioning tornado action...Last evening {Sunday}, we heard our weather siren blarring for about 3 or 4 min.....I checked all Indy TV stations for something that might be happening, and found nothing. Our siren is of the rotating horn type right on the grounds here of the Country Club with this golf course, and that siren is just a mere half mile or less from us. I thought perhaps it was a test, or maybe a malfunction....No it was neither.
I read in the Muncie StarPress this morning we were visited by a tornado near by {of the lowest grade}, but it was just about 2 mi. south of us and heading southeast....That would be away from us. Understand utility wires down but not much other damage reported. But that is getting pretty close.
Happy birthday to M C.....
Quentin
MookieSo short retirement and now back to working even harder?
This move was unusual for a "regular" crew. Normally those moves get done during the day on off days.
One more round of NSAIDS and my shoulders should start feeling OK again.
Happy birthday MC!

Deshler Ohio-crossroads of the B&O Matt eats your fries.YUM! Clinton st viaduct undefeated against too tall trucks!!!(voted to be called the "Clinton St. can opener").
Good Monday morning, everyone! Nice, cool temps this morning, as we're at 66 degrees, going for a high of 78 today. It's going to be a beautiful day today!
Our WHAS Crusade for Children did well, considering the bad economy. Our firefighters, businesses, etc., raised just over 5.3 M for the special needs kids in Kentucky and Southern Indiana.
And, on a very special note this morning: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MUDCHICKEN!! (If my memory is working correctly this morning, I think you've reached the double nickle today?) May all your birthday wishes come true today!
On the serving station this morning: blueberry muffins, blueberry pancakes w/blueberry syrup, turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, toast.
Everyone have a great morning, and you all stay safe and take care.
Tree: The Old Engineer had 2 knees and 1 hip replaced - he worked steam and diesel and my bet is just like you stated - climbing up and down ladders for 40 years.
So short retirement and now back to working even harder?
Sheesh! Long Day. After a dismal day (drizzly and chilly) on our regular runs, I helped take our motive power back to Utica so it could be used there for a school trip. As is normal this early in the season, we are under instructions to stop and flag all automatic crossings (even if they activate properly) "account rusty rail conditions." There were seven of those that I had to flag.
On top of that, a section of the county there got hit with a pretty good storm last night, putting three of the signals OOS on the shortline we operate on. That made ten crossings I had to flag.
In addition, there three switches to be thrown enroute, also all by moi.
For all of you who think F units are the cat's meow, try working with them for a while under these circumstances. I think the look neat, too, but climbing up and down the side of them a dozen times or so is a royal pain in the you-know-where.
grampaw pettiboneQuentin, just so's you'll know, a friend of mine has a pet ground mole. I dunno how or what she feeds it....
Tom.....I must have done a good job back several months ago, as I've not seen any activity since...! In fact, the grass has grown so well this Spring I can't even see the remnants of the tunnels we had to deal with back then.
So if she needs any more, I can't supply them anytime soon....

Thanks, Johnny. Sounds like you and Ricki are really enjoying your trip!!
The grills are fired up, and the first round is off the grills and on the serving station.
Meats: Steaks, hamburgers, brats, hot dogs, chicken
Side Dishes: Pork and beans, corn on the cob, grilled "baked" potatoes, cole slaw, macaroni salad, potato salad, fruit salad and three bean salad
Desserts: Yellow cake w/vanilla icing, chocolate cake w/chocolate icing, chocolate chip cookies, oatmeal/raisin cookies and ice cream
Everyone enjoy, have a good afternoon, keep safe and take care.
Paula and Walt, I am sorry to hear of your loss. I well remember our Buddy, who left us six years ago after nine years with us. A picture of him is my wallpaper, and you see him as my avatar. He always greeted Ricki and me when he came into the room where we were, and we, of course always greeted him. He often stayed close to me wherever I was in the house.
We arrived in LA 32 minutes early last night and stayed in the Miyako Hotel--a good place to stay. We leave on the Sunset this afternoon. I caught up on the threads I wanted to see when in Portland, but am behind ow.
Johnny
A welcome cool breeze this morning....67 when I first lookd for temp. Overnight a half inch of rain, and some wind....I did not hear it. Windows open this morning too...{That's welcome}. Not sure just what the rest of the day's weather will be. Think we still have a chance of afternoon systems forming. Right now partly cloudy....some sunshine, a bit of breeze and seems the sticky humidity has diminished.
Church at 11 this morning.....Then meet friends at Texas Road House about 1:30 for a Sunday meal.
Papers to read.....A Nascar race to catch {at least some of it this afternoon}.....I really don't like that Pocono track....but I don't get to choose them. It's in my home State too.....
A good new week to all....
Our tornado sirens went off last night as funnel clouds were spotted near our northern county line. The storm continued east and affected Delta ohio in fulton county and Lake twp near Toledo. The path of the storm followed rt 795.This is the route we use to go to Standley and Walbridge yards. There were 3 fatalities in the storm.Going to church this morning then we have graduation parties to go to this afternoon.Cw thanks for breakfast.
Good Sunday morning, everyone. Joe, sounds like you all had a very good day yesterday.
Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go. Hot water is ready for our hot tea drinkers, and there's plenty of Gatorade for the mudchicken!
On the serving station this morning: bagels, bear claws, biscuits, gravy, turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, and cinnamon rolls.
Think I'll fire up the grills around 1, 2 p.m., and fix steaks, pork chops, hot dogs and brats. Unless anyone wants something else for our Sunday Dinner. If so, just let me know what you'd rather have.
Everyone have a very good, safe morning, and see you all later on.
well we dodged some raindrops and saw some trains and made it to my nephews graduation party.we stopped by wapakoneta on the way home and saw k185 and q339.Q 339 had some training cars from the csx safety department.A good time had by everyone.Cw thanks for the pizza.

Mookie And the difference between dogs and cats, besides the obvious: food hit the floor and our dog Budz became the best vacuum Hoover ever had. Mookie just blinked and walked the other way.

I know what you mean, Mookie! Win-Win, if you dropped something (food related) on the floor, she'd make a bee line to scarf it up. The two cats will investigate first, see if it's something they want to munch on, then go in the opposite direction. One of our nicknames for Win-Win was "garbage gut": she'd eat anything, from broccoli, brussels sprouts, to almost any kind of fruit, and any leftovers in the fridge, if we'd give it to her. I just got back from doing our monthly food shopping, and it was really hard to not turn into the dog food aisle.
Here is our Saturday Night Pizza Fest menu:
1. Canadian bacon
2. Cheese
3. Goetta
4. Hawaiian
5. Pepperoni/mushroom
6. Supreme
7. Italian sausage
It's beginning to cloud up, so we may be having some rain/storms after awhile. Everyone enjoy your pizzas, have a good evening, and you all take care.
Mookie CW - it has been a few years that Mookie has been gone. I still hear her every so often when I open a can. Getting less all the time, but still once in a great while. They never really leave.

I lost a cat several years ago......I swear he's still around......
I'd really like to say Thank You to all the Forum Members that have responded to our recent loss, I really do appreciate it!
I guess by all rights, Win was a Fourm Member herself, she was always right by myself and CW while were here at the computer; and has met several of the Forum members, eg.: Kathie Kube, Carl & Pat, Mudchicken & Boss Hen, Bob & Barbara; and probably barked at several others when we were on the phone.
It took me about 5 minutes to "teach" her how to shake paws, when I tried to "teach" her to fetch by throwing a tennis ball; she would look at me with "That Look" like ....Dad, you threw it, you go get it! (she never would do the "fetch routine".)
(now we have to figure out what to do with her toys.)
Larry, kinda know what you mean.....everytime we brought a "snack" around, she thought it was for her.
Guess we may have to get an "alarm system" for the house now...she used to let us know if we had unwanted company.
cherokee woman Good Saturday morning, everyone. My heartfelt thanks to those of you who have offered your condolences to us. I came down the stairs this morning, looking for the Win-Win. Wonder how long we'll be doing that.

Paula, let me add a little something of a comment...Looking at your above statement, I add this. About 14 years ago our last miniature Dachshund went to doggy heaven....
We had a special place in the kitchen for her water bowl and it was so located one had to be careful of it when getting something out of the cabinet above that area. To this day...{14 years later}, I {we}, still consciously think about not kicking the water bowl below on the floor when reaching for something above in the cabinet.
Trivia: Situation has been renewed: As of about 2 months ago....another miniature Dachshund {one year old}, came to live with us. Water bowl and feed bowl, now located at different location. This one is "Ella Grace". And oh what energy.
MookieI still hear her every so often when I open a can. Getting less all the time, but still once in a great while. They never really leave.
Indeed - that extra bit of cheese or chunk of ham, nightly walks - all stuff that continues to remind my of Angus.
RIP, Win-Win.
I'm slipping over to the Aledo fire station this morning for their fund raiser breakfast. Then folks are coming in for our rhubarb fest today. The high school band has the butterfly pork chop sandwiches concession. Yummy.
Cw and Walt our sympathies from NW ohio.We are under a flood watch.Matt and I will have to keep our eyes on the sky as we go to my nephews graduation party. Will have places to duck inside if it gets too bad.Breakfast is ready.Juice and coffee are ready to go to.Going to put plenty of water in the cooler for today.
Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go. Hot water is ready for our hot tea drinkers; mudchicken's Gatorade is also cold and ready to go.
On the serving station this morning: the usual bagels and bear claws, along with turkey bacon, pork sausage links/patties, scrambled eggs, homemade buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy, cantaloupe, watermelon, kiwi, papaya slices.
The weather guessers are predicting a high of 91 for us today, with a fairly good chance of storms later this afternoon, tonight. So I'll probably be in a little early to post our pizza menu for tonight.
Everyone have a good day, keep safe, and take care on your outings/errands, train watching today.
Walt & Paula; sincere feelings over the loss of your computer watching friend Winn - Winn. My Dixie Belle Boxer was a Pickup truck pal .No matter where she was in the house , she heard the key ring jingle and out the door to her ride. Some times when I get the keys I still remember her.~~~

Y6bs evergreen in my mind
Murray A nice drive to Pennsylvania...Thats a good "break in" for her.... I bought a new Kia Rio for my commuter car last January...A surprisingly nice little car for the price....I have a Jeep Liberty that we used for long trips.

I had been seriously looking at the new 2011 Sonata {totally new}, for this model year, but the one we might have accepted is not officially in showrooms yet. They are coming with a 2.0L Turbo for the Limited and SE , but perhaps not until Fall.
And this one kinda fell in our lap, so that caused the car deliberating to end...Previous Lexus vehicles have really been great to us. Hope this one is too.
Modelcar Murray Quentin...Did you buy a new car???? Your avatar used to have a white car. .....A sharp eye.....But must answer yes. The former white Lexus has turned into a {just getting used to}, dark gray Lexus.....It has a color name and right now I can't think of it. Our white one we had quite a few years and the same day we traded, it made a young couple very happy. We did a deal this past Friday and was planing to head out east to the home land for the long holiday weekend, so making the deal and still having to get ready when we got back home from the dealer made a busy evening. Everything worked fine to and fro...
