....Heading out for a late morning breakfast.  Location:  Bruner's restaurant, right across the street from the double track CSX east / west main....

Late morning usually shows several trains.

Bright morning with plenty of clouds, but  a bit of sunshine too.  So I'll call it a nice morning.  Perhaps a chance of rain sometime later today.

Morning all! I thought I would pop in and say hello. Summer is definitely here in western Indiana. The corn is waist high in most places! (Throws the old adage, “Knee high by the 4th of July”, to the wind!) Well I’m heading to an old friend of mines house for the day. Maybe some train watching in store for this weekend?

Stay Safe yall!

Good morning, peace be with you. 72 and clouds in Carolina an hour after sunrise. They are calling for 94 and clouds today, but no thunderstorm for a change.

We went out to a reccomended seafood house last night, and got grossed out. So much for the referral of friends!!

Everyone take care

Good Friday morning, everyone.  Hope you all had a very good evening.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  Tea kettle just started whistling, so water is ready for our hot tea drinkers.

On the serving station this morning:  bagels, bear claws, turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, biscuits & gravy, along with some doughnuts, chocolate covered, cream filled longjohns and some danish.

You all have  good morning, enjoy your breakfast and take care.

I'm not really sure CU should have gone anywhere until they got their house in order. On the other hand, CU and Cincinnati will not tolerate an academic cover-up as opposed to some other schools (who probably covered-up their academic shortcomings). At least they have their priorities straight.

I can see it now, the Wackko Bowl - UC-Berkley vs. CU-Boulder (AKA "Berkley East") - who will "outweird" the other?

Hmmm, Nebraska at Camp Randall Stadium.....  Them boys might be in for a shock, but we haven't been the same since Barry quit coaching.......

Back on the road, though air conditioner is still on the fritz.  Have to have another shop take a crack at it, Richfield tried twice and didn't get it.  Beautiful here near Buffalo, though, have all windows and vents open and enjoying the night.

See everyone later.....

We spent a large part of this afternoon looking at, and recording in bytes, the houses Ricki lived in in Memphis. On to Chicago tonight.

Yesterday, after we passed through Yazoo City, we noticed a large number of horribly damaged tres along the right of way; a waitress in the diner told us that the tornado came through last Saturday, about an hour after the southbound City of New Orleans had passed through. It seemed to follow the track for some distance.

I managed to catch up with my Kalmbach mail a few minutes ago; now I have other stuff that is not as interesting to catch up on. I could not do much at my sister-in-law's yesterday since my brother's connection is extremely slow, and we had to get the rental car back back to New Orleans in time to take the train to Memphis.

Y'all take care.

I'd settle for the BIG 1, but the championship game would be a drag!

Brian/Joe - we keep hearing mumbles about the Big 22....Laugh

There's gotta be a point at which such a league becomes ungainly, forcing a split.  As a long time Big 10 fan...

Tom, hope you enjoyed your ham & cheese omelette this morning!  I don't usually do too good a job on them, but I think that one turned out nicely.

Been busy this morning, with a few phone calls, dishes, and crocheting the baby blanket.

Our menu for the rest of the day:

1.  Leftover vegetable beef soup w/cornbread

2.  Tuna melt casserole

3.  Grilled rib eye steaks w/potato wedges, broccoli w/cheese sauce and garden salad

I hope everyone enjoys the menu, and have a great afternoon.

So, the main question that keeps running through my mind is, will the "Big 10" finally learn how to count and change its name?

Brian:  Just heard Sir Chicken will be moving to the Pac-10 for sure.  Ks is very upset and is talking congressional action.  Guess I shouldn't leave out other sports also moving, but football is all I follow very closely.

Mookie

Not sure what they will do with the rest of the Big 12 after the Texas teams leave.  Interesting sports note anyway!

ESPN has a story indicating that Colorado will join the PAC-10 if Nebraska leaves, and the Texas teams may follow suit.  Kinda leaves the Kansas schools, Missouri, and Iowa State in the lurch...

Well, the official Midwest is now becoming part of the Pseudo-Midwest.  Nebraska will now join the Big-10 in football and will play all of the states I am now reasonably familiar with in their locations.  And I know people in all of them.

I know Joe has a family member that follows Nebraska and while we will be the step-child for awhile, I think they will be a good opponent for all the teams.

Not sure what they will do with the rest of the Big 12 after the Texas teams leave.  Interesting sports note anyway!

.....Our morning is beautiful.....And has been since early on as I started my day.  To be a great sunny day and seems not too bad on humidity.

Got my mowing accomplished last evening, and Jean did her share of trimming and I operated the edger / trimmer as well, and her flowers are blooming so nicely at back patio area and it sure is pretty looking out over the back yard and onto the Fairway.  Makes one feel good.  But...oh boy, it seems this nice warm season....Spring / Summer will be passing by fast.  June 10th already....!

Good mornin from Carolina, where it's 73 and cloudy. The boffins call for mid to high 80s and of course, a thunderstorm.

Paula, thanks for breakfast. Could you whomp up a rather large ham and cheese omlet? I haven't had one in years.....

Everyone take care

Good Thursday morning, everyone.  We have 73 degrees and foggy conditions here in Louisville this morning.  They (weather guessers) are saying we'll have a high of 88,89 today, then 90s tomorrow and rest of weekend.  I think the rain we were supposed to get overnight, went to the south and east of us.  At least our house is now cool, as we have a couple of new air conditioners.

Larry, sure you don't want to go into a new "career" as a child gate builder?  It sounds like you did an excellent job.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  On the serving station this morning:  bagels, bear claws, turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs.  There's also lettuce, tomatoes and toasted bread, if anyone would like to make themselves a BLT for breakfast.  And homemade buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy.

Everyone enjoy, have a good morning, and take care.  What would you like to see on today's lunch/supper menu?

we got about 2.1 inches of rain this morning.

As I pulled in to daughter's driveway today to install the custom child gate I've been working on for the past month, she told me that she was expecting the seamless gutter folks that afternoon to put up gutters on their new house.

Sure enough, a short while later they arrived.  Before they were done, though, the new gutters were already getting 'battle tested' by a light drizzle.  The heavier stuff waited until after they left.

The gate was custom made (by me) because a standard child gate would have left the top step of the stairs exposed.  Since the banister is all oak, that's what I made the gate out of.  Looks real nice, but I won't be duplicating that effort any time soon.  First reports are that it works as advertised.

Well, I checked our rain guage this afternoon:  we got about 2.1 inches of rain this morning.  The rain we got right around 11 a.m. was a very heavy one.

After a very light rain for a short time early this morning, we've had a dry mostly sunny day.  But we did get 1.15" in the rain gauge overnight.

vegetable beef soup, and made some more cornbread

That is good food.  We had zero rain today in Aledo. High around 80 with a few puffy clouds. My house & sisters house are both on double lots. My MTD rider has been getting a workout. I love summer.

I have reheated the vegetable beef soup, and made some more cornbread for tonight.  It's all on the warmer/serving station, ready for you all to help yourselves.

We're supposed to get a little bit more rain later tonight, probably not as bad or heavy as we got this morning.  Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Everyone enjoy your meal, have a good evening, and you all take care.
