Weather a bit unusual here this morning. Overnight, just a trace in gauge....5 mi. away, into Muncie center, up to 2".
Here, off and on rain since then....and it looks like about a half inch in the gauge....Didn't go right up to it for close check. Mod. humid temps. Right now, just overcast and muggy.

Brian - good luck. Very strange weather pattern.

We just hit 90 degrees here in Louisville. I think the weather guessers are predicting a high in the mid to upper 90s for us for today.
For our lunch, there are cold cuts w/lettuce, tomato, cheese and onion (if anyone wants onion on their sandwich/hoagie/sub). Letting you all fix your own today.
For supper tonight, I'm going to grill (on the George Foreman grill) breakfast pork chops, and we'll have baked taters, broccoli w/butter sauce and corn.
Everyone have a good afternoon, be sure to stay cool and hydrated and take care.
Hot here. Currently 87, but it's supposed to approach 100 Wednesday. Then, again, I'm still in MD...
The little one is doing well - still sorting out her schedule, but things are settling down.
Gotta go out later and refill the two-year-old's wading pool. She mananged to figure out how to do belly flops all by her self. Requires frequent topping-off of the pool, and there's definitely a "splash section" in the "spectator's gallery."

The weather guessers must think that Mookie's rain is headed this way- we're under ANOTHER Flash Flood Watch. Reminds me of the movie "Ground Hog Day"...

Good morning from Carolina. 72 and sunny today, expected to get into the 90s and thunder later. Yesterday's storm didn't show up, although a friend heard distant thunder. It is a fact of life here that summer equals thunderstorms practically every day. For someone like me, who has all manner of radio antannas up there, it can be a real test..
Happy first day of summer to all.
Thanks for breakfast Paula, and everyone have a great day.

Good Monday morning, everyone. Mookie, here's your coffee. I had the alarm set, but it didn't go off. (I think, when I reset the clocks Saturday morning, I forgot to set the alarm back!) Oh well, have a cat or two who act as alarm clocks, anyway.
Juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go as well.
We are starting off with 80 degrees this morning. Going to be a 2 H day around here: hot and humid. Summer officially starts in about 25 minutes. We here in the USA are to have 15 hours of sunlight today. Happy summer to all.
No storms or rain overnight for us. But, it looks like some are heading our way, from the west, so we'll probably be getting hit later.
Everyone have a good day, and take care. Will be in the kitchen, getting lunch/supper going in the Crock Pots: pork chop abracadbra. If anyone has any particular veggies you'd like to have with the pork chops, just let me know, all right?
Yo - rest of USA - we are keeping the rain for awhile. We have some places we need to fill with water - like the Big Ditch the city thought we should have - so we dug this "must have" right thru the city center. It is now done and we must fill it with water to prove the need. (Snort!)
Sir Chicken - stay low.....been lots of lightning and thunder!
Watched trains thru raindrops yesterday and also got to see a broken knuckle pretty much right in front of us. They had to have a committee meeting over that one. Glad it happened close to the yard and not out on the "iowa Prairie". Took 5 people to put Humpty together again!
mudchickenGeez - and I get to spend Tues-Thurs in between Mookie/Willy2 and Brian....about 15-20 miles west of the Kate Shelly bridge....Hope fried-chicken isn't on the menu then (after lightning zaps the GPS receiver I'm toting around.)
You might luck out- we were supposed to get rain today, but it hasn't happened yet. Joanie and I spent the night in north Des Moines last night- they had a storm go through during the night, but we never heard it. We joined our daughter and SIL yesterday afternoon and toured Terrace Hill, the old Victorian mansion that is now the Iowa Governor's residence (his family lives on the third floor, the first two are set up for display). Very interesting place.

willy: I know two people working up by Norfolk right now, scrambling to establish cross-dock/transload sites account of the failed bridge (that may not be replaced for almost 12 mos.) - rough times...
Randy: I remember '93 too well. I don't think the railroads could weather one of those as well now as they did then with the limited resources they have now.
Evening
mailed hugs to a buzzard in virginia. Then we went to see Mr.Howrath.He opens his backyard layout on fathers day every year. Then we went to G+G house.Matt helped grandpa in the pond today.Worked out well because it got warm quick.Time for bed.No work for us tonight but chores to do tomorrow.
Evening all.....
Not too bad driving this weekend, other than I had to use our road service last night, popped a tire on a trailer with a tire inflation system that would not keep it filled (hole too big), it now has a new tire.
Will throw all meals into a few containers and eat it all week, too much to eat in one sitting.
Happy fathers day to all dads out there, and the first day of summer is tomorrow....
Looked at large radar shot a bit ago, those in KS and NE may want to hit the dirt. IA Brian: Weather Channel the other day compared the weather pattern we are in with the one from 1993. Hope it not as bad as either of those years.....
Well, off to bed.....

cherokee womanLarry, how is the 2 year old reacting to new baby? Hopefully not showing any signs of jealousy.
First test of that will be when Papa heads home, second will be when Daddy goes back to work after his vacation.
I suspect that things will go well. Unfortunately, the two-year-old isn't really old enough to truly "help" with anything just yet.
Papa held the little one for an hour while she slept tonight, while her mom went to the store.
One sidelight - the baby was born a little after 10AM on the 16th, and was home by 5 PM on the 17th. Used to be you could figure on three days or so that they would be in the hospital...
Larry, how is the 2 year old reacting to new baby? Hopefully not showing any signs of jealousy.
We didn't get the mid 90s temps today. We're in the mid to upper 80s, and there's a nice breeze out.
Here is our Saturday Night Pizza Fest menu:
1. Canadian bacon
2. Cheese w/extra cheese
3. Goetta
4. Hawaiian
5. Italian sausage
6. Pepperoni/mushroom
7. Supreme
Everyone have a good evening, enjoy your pizzas, and take care.
88 and sunny here on the Chesapeake shore. Daddy just took the little one up to mommy to feed, two-year-old is headed to the store with daddy.
Been out of touch due to no WIFI at son's house. Bought him a new router (cheaper than buying an aircard), so I'm in touch again.
Has anyone ever noticed that two-year-olds are bi-polar?
Off to other tasks.
After a hot and muggy day here in central Indiana....at about 8 pm, black clouds with a nasty look approached {fast}, from the NW along with blustery wind for phase one, which was a rather solid red line on radar, but not very "deep", so it passed rather quickly with some rain.
During the night, which I heard just a bit of....Another phase came thru and my rain gauge indicates .9" of an inch overnight....including phase one.
And the potential is there for similar to happen again today. Afternoon temps expected to be in the area of 92 degrees. Lots of sunshine here this morning. And these conditions are in our extended forecast for almost another week....
The storm blew through here yesterday about 3:30. Then we went to Moline for an outdoor wedding at 5:30. At 7:30, another storm came through. My niece got hitched OK.
Good morning from Carolina. 74 with fog and haze this morning. The guess is for the high 90s and of course, a thunderstorm later. We had a real whizzbanger of a storm yesterday, with all the bells and whistles. Not only that, slightly over 2 inches of rain in just over an hour. It makes me grateful for a roof that doesn't leak!!
I think I will turn in for a nap since I've been up most of the night. Everyone take care
Good Saturday morning, everyone. Joe, thanks for taking care of breakfast this morning. I've been up since 5:25, but we were getting thunder, lightning, and rain. We even lost power for just a couple of minutes: long enough, for us to have to set clocks. Seems to be well east of us now, although we are still getting a little bit of rain. Checked the rain guage, looks like we've gotten about a 1/3 of an inch so far this morning. We're supposed to get up to about 96 degrees today, so bet we'll probably see a little bit more popup showers/storms in the heat of the day.
Brian, sounds like you have quite a few pets. Want to send us a little puppy? Preferably one that won't grow too large, would be all right. We've now been dogless for two weeks, and we're still looking around for our beloved Win-Win. We sure do miss that girl.
Everyone have a good morning, and you all take care with whatever you have planned for today. See you all later this evening, for our Pizza Fest.
Everyone have a good day.
rounds 1 and 2 came through last night.alot of wind and rain but no damage here. There was a report of a tornado near pettisville ohio(between archbold and wauseon). But nothing has been confirmed.Breakfast is ready and on the warmer bar.We have juice, coffee and gatorade too.getting things ready to go to lima.we'll report later.
Anybody need a pet? After that last round, we've got plenty of cats and dogs to go around... Good Lord, if this keeps up, 2008 will seem like just another damp summer!

I've refreshed and replenished everything for tonight's Friday Fish Fry on the serving station.
cherokee woman Brian, hope you all are okay!
Brian, hope you all are okay!
All is well here- just alittle wetter. Had a 47 MPH gust during the storm, though...
Mookie, I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed our treats this morning! Even at 58 years old, if I eat too much chocolate, my face will break out with two or three pimples. Disgusting, isn't it?
Willy, I'm glad your Mom had a nice birthday dinner with you and your Dad. And shame on him, for getting her age wrong!
Tom, you're very welcome on today's breakfast choices.
Joe, congrats on getting a laptop computer. I would love to have one. Maybe one of these days (years).
It is very muggy and hot out. We probably have the slight possibility of some scattered showers/tshowers. Our high today is supposed to be 95, and I would imagine it is very close to 90, 92 degrees outside right now.
Everyone have a very good afternoon, keep cool and safe, and I'll see you all later on.
