Q - in Italian it means "Good Forward".  Is it a basketball themed restaurant?  Big Smile

Jen.....it's a very nice Italian lady owned, restaurant.  Good real home made bread....{Jean says, garlic oil dipping sauce}....and homemade spinach bisque soup.  My favorite, is a sub type sandwich called a "Hero"....contains hot ham....salami....cheese....tomatoes....lettuce on homemade Italian roll.

Nope.....No basketball theme...total Italian theme.

Joe, thank you very much, for your help getting our Friday Fish Fry going!!  Dan, don't feel like the lone stranger:  I had quite a bit of trouble, trying to get in here myself, this morning.  I was just about to give up, when I did make in!

Here's the menu selections for this afternoon/evening:

FISH:  Cod, Flounder, Halibut, Haddock, Perch, Salmon patties or Salmon filets, Shrimp (jumbo butterfly, and popcorn)

SIDE DISHES:  Cole slaw, Corn on the Cob, Fries, Hush puppies, Breaded fried mushrooms, Baked beans, Macaroni & cheese, Mashed taters w/plenty of butter

DESSERTS:  Chocolate cake, Yellow cake w/chocolate icing, Yellow cake w/caramel icing, pecan pie, and the following cobblers:  apple, cherry, peach, blackberry and strawberry; all of the above available ala mode, any flavor ice cream you want

We are now getting bombarded w/rain and thunder.  Haven't seen any lightning, but you know, if there's thunder, there's bound to be lightning somewhere in the mix!  And we are under a severe thunderstorm watch until 7 or 7:30 p.m. tonight.

Everyone enjoy the meal, have a good afternoon, stay warm, dry, and take care.

Whew what a day of basketball. This is why they call it march madness. We have some rumbles of thunder starting up here in nw ohio.Going to be rain rain rain tomorrow.Along with the city looking at the clinton st. viaduct the county is asking the state about an overpass over CSX on the east side of town.(Hire road yard). This has been discussed before but the comissioners have sent a reminder letter to the state. Sometimes there are impatient drivers as the y101 switches and another train comes by the yard.A mile down the road there is an overpass on route 18.Going to clean up the counter and go to bed.

Stay safe

Good Saturday morning, everyone.  Joe, thanks for cleaning up last night.  I really do appreciate all your help around here (you and all the other guys who help out around here)!

We are currently at 46 degrees here in Louisville.  The rain has gone east, and we should have a nice day on tap, with a high of about 51 degrees.

Yeah, Joe and Quentin, I think a lot of people are tuning in to the basketball games.  Walt and I did watch the last of Kentucky's game yesterday.  Sure are glad that they managed to win against Alabama!

Coffee, juices, and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go, along with hot water for our hot tea drinkers.

On the warmer/serving station this morning:  buttermilk pancakes w/plenty of maple  or blueberry syrup, sausage (links & patties), turkey bacon, buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy, your choice of fried taters, hash browns or tater tots, scrambled eggs, grits or oatmeal w/toast.

It's just Walt and me at home this weekend.  Sarah is attending a  fire school in Elizabethtown, KY this weekend.  She'll be home sometime tomorrow, late afternoon/evening.

Everyone have a great day, enjoy it to the fullest, and take care.  See you all back in here tonight for our Pizza Fest.

Good morning. 54 degrees and hazy in Carolina this morning. The girls are outside not wanting to come back inside.  We had our first thunderstorm of the season last night and .33 inch of rain. I got chased off the wireless by the lightning. Not much more to report at present. Later

Kind of cloudy out - but in the 40's for today.

Joe - thanks for reminder.  We did ours in the fall.  Now for all those clocks...

I'm just enjoying the coffee on this gloomy morning. I'm watching "Great Scenic Railway Journeys: Celebrating 175 Years of the American Railroad" on Iowa Public TV. It is a good show about North American Tourist Railroads.

IPTV does a pretty good job of putting out the interesting shows- unfortunately, I'm not in a position to watch this morning, as I'm posting from Minnesota.  My brother is getting married today for the second time (the bride's first) over near St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin.  Off to repack the minivan...

Damp here in the wilds of northern New York, but just sprinkles.

Spent the morning watching a pile of rubble burn.  Used to be a house, but they had to knock it down before we could burn it.  In fact, it's still burning, but it's in the basement now, so all we have to do is check in from time to time.

On other topics - after two months of fruitless searching around here for a Wii Fit balance board, I walked into a well known big box store while in Maryland and found not one, but two on the shelf.  They said they'd had four earlier in the day.  So much for the "no longer being available."

Of course, that means I've got to start using it - which I really do need to do.  But it's fun.

Evening, all.  Our PBS is having their Spring Pledge-a-Thon.    Been going for a week now.  Will have to look at tomorrow's weekly schedule in the Sunday paper, to see what they'll be showing this next week.  We have watched the good ole Motown groups, the 60s' rock and roll (Beach Boys, Jan & Dean, Leslie Gore, etc.).  That was on last night.  I think tonight, they have a Statler Brothers Final Concert from 6 years ago.  Not sure what else they have listed for tonight.

It's mighty breezy outside here, and very, very gloomy.  Not sure what today's high got to, but I know they're predicting highs tomorrow in the 40s.  Since Easter is late this year, are we now in the "Easter Squall" or "Blackberry Winter", that usually comes around Easter time?!?!

Here is our Saturday Night Pizza Fest menu:

1.  Canadian Bacon

2.  Cheese w/extra cheese

3.  Pepperoni/mushroom

4.  Goetta

5.  Hawaiian

6.  Supreme

7.  Italian sausage

Desserts:  Pizza pie desserts:  apple, pineapple, cherry, peach and strawberry

You all enjoy, have a good evening, stay dry, warm, and take care.

With electronic clocks in almost every room, it has become quite a job to adjust for the time change twice a year....Some of them will take care of doing that themselves, including my wrist watch, but we must have 17 or 18 time pieces around here...

Good Sunday morning, all.  We're waking up to cloudy skies, no rain.  We did have some light rain off and on all evening.  But the streets are dry at this time.

I hope everyone did remember to set their clocks, watches, up one hour, before retiring last night.  All our clocks were set, except for Sarah's clock radio in her room.  She'll have to do that tonight, when she gets home.

Coffee, juices, and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  There's also plenty of hot water for our hot tea drinkers.

On the warmer/serving station this morning:  cinnamon rolls, pecan rolls, bagels, bear claws, bacon, sausage, eggs, biscuits & gravy, whichever you'd like to have this morning.

Do I have any special requests for Sunday Dinner later on?

I suppose most are hearing of the terrible Nor' easterner {but with rain, not snow}, plowing up the coast....Damaging winds and too much water....Heard one report of 500,000 homes with out power.  Trees down on buildings....Water over some railroads.....Here, it has been moderation, both in temp, and rain, but still, last night's figures reported we had 1.76" of rain yesterday and the night before.

Pittsburgh has been hit with high water too.....and of course Phila. / Wash. D C and on up north as the Low system moves northeast, slowly.

Hope we get that sunshine we've been promised for most of this new upcoming week.  And the folks out east too....Earlier this morning we had 38 degrees.  Imagine if {in the east}, if it had been snow....Would have been several feet of it with terrible wind.

Weeping Willow trees getting green in our area....They generally are the first.

Glenwood Canyon opened to traffic on I-70 on Friday (one lane each way). It's gonna be 2-3 months before all the damage is repaired. Union Pacific has had some minor spalling, but nothing the slide fences could not contain. http://www.denverpost.com/newsheadlines/ci_14668241   http://www.denverpost.com/newsheadlines/ci_14660036  It's going to cost the state about a million to clean up the rockfall and another million to repair the roadway.  The truckers have been whining constantly about the disruption (perhaps they might actually want to pay more of their fair share?Mischief)

I would have loved to watch the helicopter in the canyon helping with the rock scaling operations that got the rest of the loose rocks down.

(No mudslides, but we are starting to deal with range fires down here on the flats...it's been a while, very little snow left in the shadows around here. At least the mountain reservoirs are full.)

Thanks MC for the Glenwood Canyon info. Seems reasonable that the most expensive Interstate construction location would also be the most expensive to repair.

No time lost in AZ last night. We just keep on doing it the way it was always done.

Mookie,

I bet if you wait until November that time will find its way home.

Quiet day at home with Aedan planned today.  Got the clocks reset last night and just have my truck left to go.  Already 45 degrees outside with very little wind.  Maybe we'll go walk trackside.  Still no robins up here, but the birds were singing at 5:22 this morning.

Dan - ssh - I'm not here -

Had a glare down with one almost nose-to-nose yesterday.  Train watching and he was right outside my window.  I swear he had frown marks between his eyes....

Back looking for that hour - maybe it is here behind my eyelids....

MC thank you for the update. From what I've seen and read makes our rock slides and mud puny.At Black Canyon City up hill to Sunset Point is about 7 mi. on I-17, far less than events on I-70.
