CW, sorry to learn about your back problems. I thought I had a corner on that market. My news is better.

I had my first of three cortisone shots on Monday and the comfort level is much better. Also, surgery would not be in the immediate future as mine is diagnosed as stenosis, a compressing of the vertebra.

Nice weather in AZ today with possibility for rain showers tonight. Enjoy your day railroaders..

Jack, the doctor did say that surgery wouldn't help, so that stenosis may be what he's thinking is the problem.  And he did say that I may have to have the cortisone shots, if the therapy doesn't help.

Mookie, isn't it nice to be able to have our rockers back outside, in the fresh air?  The breeze is even warm!!

For our lunch/supper, here is the menu:

Beef noodles w/garden/tossed salad, or you can have Caesar salad

Dessert:  Yellow cake w/chocolate icing, chocolate cake w/white icing, and any flavor ice cream you want

Everyone have a good afternoon, keep safe and take care of yourselves.

a smaller switcher size engine painted red....and labled "US Army".....Wonder what that was all about.....?

A number of Army installations have a pretty good sized railroad plant and have their own power.  Most likely just a move from one installation to another, or else it was heading to/from an overhaul.

.....Another beautiful day here in our mid western Muncie......Plenty of sunshine and seems it will continue all week.  Getting warmer each day.

Just returned from a bit of new tire work at our favorite tire dealer and the double track CSX east / west line is right across the street from it, and watching from the waiting room, a westbound mostly autocarier and tanks passed with 5 or 6 {CSX}, engines, but roughly in the middle of the power units was a smaller switcher size engine painted red....and labled "US Army".....Wonder what that was all about.....?

Good Wednesday morning, everyone.  Fair skies with a temp in the mid to upper 40s this morning, here in Louisville this morning.  Bob called last evening, and said that he and Barb would be heading out early this morning.  Wishing them a safe trip, and looking forward to meeting them tomorrow.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages fresh and ready to go, like hot water for our hot tea drinkers, Mudchicken's Gatorade (truck arrived last night).  On the serving station this morning:  pizza left from last night, cinnamon rolls, bagels and bear claws along with BLTs this morning.

Mookie, your coffee mug is ready, and I've got our rockers in place, on the deck.

Everyone have a good morning, keep safe, take care and see you all later.

Smile  Joe;  be sure to check out the granite walls in the terminal.  Every thing is in the ( art deco) time.  No matter how many times the terminal is remodeled , CUT still stays the same.  We have been there a few times and theres always something to see. Down the tunnell to the track side is original,  ( a trip thru time ) .  Smile       ~~~  Cannonball

.....A beautiful day here in Muncie land.....Spring is advancing.  Tomorrow it's another yard mowing.

Finally, took the two 70# sand bags out of the back of my S-10 today....which have been in all Winter for a bit more traction.  Should have removed them over a month ago....Just hauling them around for no reason.

Tomorow the m + S tires come off...{Could have had that done earlier too}, and we'll have 2 new one's {reg. summer tread}, installed and we'll have them rotated.  New ones to the front....etc.

And let the nice weather continue....To be warmer tomorrow.

I was thinking of having "breakfast" for supper, but pizza works.  I think I saw Hawaiian on the list...

Windy and cool here today, with a gust of 18.7 recorded earlier.  We're on the edge of the rain, but we don't expect much, if any.

If the weatherguessers are right (let's hope) we'll have a beautiful day for our Easter Bunny trains on Saturday.  Easter is supposed to be nice, too, with just a chance of a sprinkle.

Back to my list of chores for the week...

We are having pizza for dinner tonight?? Yum!! But save a few slices of it for me, CW, and I will have it for breakfast tomorrow morning. I just finished browning a pound of ground beef, and I added a can of Hunt's Manwhich sloppy joe sauce, and it is now simmering in my small crock pot. Anyone care to join me for sloppy joe burgers tonight?

I was reading my email at roughly 7:30 this morning when I could hear a strange sound coming from outside my windows. I stepped out on my front deck and discovered a duck in my neighbor's front yard! It was I think a female mallard and maybe she was looking for a place to build her nest and raise her brood of little ducklings. "Quack, Quack, Quack, Quack!"

Well, the good news from Dr. is that my hip is looking pretty good.  The bad news is:  next Monday, 4/5/10, I go back to therapy, for my back.  He says that is what is causing my hip to hurt and constantly ache.  The sessions will be two or three days a week, for the next four weeks.

Bob, pizza does sound pretty good for tonight.  And it looks like you all did a pretty good job of cleaning up the roast, taters , carrots for lunch today.  So, on tonight's menu:

1.  Cheese w/extra cheese

2.  Hawaiian

3.  Pepperoni/mushroom

5.  Supreme

6.  Italian

There's also tossed/garden salad to go with the pizza, and there's plenty of iced tea, fruit punch , sodas, whatever you'd like to have to drink (that's not alcoholic).

Everyone have a good evening, and I'll see you all later.

Going to be close to 80 here today...Open windows in the morning here have the dogs on alert.

Spent part of yesterday on the horn with a great bunch of people trying to keep the C&EI Historical Society functioning. I know of at least one side trip I'm taking the next trip east.

Good morning. Bright, sunny and 52 in Carolina. I haven't seen the forecast, but maybe it will warm up again. Paula, I hope your visit with the quack doesn't turn up anything bad and will remember you at 115. Thanks for breakfast, and everyone have a great day

Good Tuesday morning, everyone.  Starting off on the cool/cold side this morning, with a temp of 34 degrees.  Supposed to get up into the mid 60s today.  The sun finally made an apperance late yesterday afternoon, and it warmed up nicely, after all the clouds got out of the way.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go, along with hot water for hot tea.

On the serving station this morning:  bagels, bear claws, and the rest of the regular breakfast menu.

Lunch is cooking in the Crock Pot/Slow Cookers over on the counter:  Roast, taters and carrots.  I go back to the surgeon today on my knees and hip.  My ride will be here about 12:15, and my appointment is at 1:15.  Been having some trouble with shooting pain in the back of my right thigh, just above the knee, and have been experiencing some pain in my hip.  So going to go make sure everything is semi okay there.

Everyone have a very good morning, and I'll see you all sometime late afternoon.

That's some railcam, isn't it? I wish the Rochelle cam people would take note. After seeing Roanoke, Rochelle seems pitifully antiquated, and like it has been said, sound would be wonderful!

Afternoon all.

CW, I think BLT’s sound really good! ThX!

What a nice day here in western Indiana! It’s 50* here with a slight northerly breeze. Had a good day at school today. I’m now in arts class. I’m also in Computers. I hope I do well in there!

Have a good evening all!

Sorry I missed lunch - and I like BLT's...

Lunch today was courtesy of a former co-worker who I met with to help with a project I started before I retired.

Cool and damp today - about a third of an inch of rain overnight.  I've got both inside and outside work to do, so I'll run either way.

Good afternoon, and thanks for lunch. It was a weekend of heavy weather in Carolina. Some areas to the west got tonadoes and thunderstorm activity. There are some areas still without power according to the news. We have had on again/off again rain today, and it currently is 70. Everyone take care

Thanks CW.  It's hard to say what the possibilities (two of 'em) will bring.  One may mean more 'down' time but when I'm busy...I'm busy!  The other may mean more of a lateral move (in terms of hours/days worked) but higher pay.  We shall see.

I should be able to get a picture of 'Sprout' up after I get back near the stored files.  Maybe later this aft or tonight.  He'll turn one in about 3 months (June 30).

Hello Dan!  And thanks for agreeing with at least one of the meal selections for today.  Good luck on the job interview this afternoon.  I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.  If you get this job, think we'll be able to see a little bit more of you in here?  When are you going to post a new picture of Aiden for us to see?  I imagine he's 'growing like a weed'.  When does he turn 1 (I'm having a problem remembering, but it seems like he should be about to have a first birthday coming up.

A BLT sounds perfect about now...good call!  Job interview this aft (promising phone interview already) and then finish working outside.  Gotta get some grass seed down on the bare earth and with luck...prep the front flower beds for planting.

Mookie, I'm looking forward to the morning, that we can take our coffees outside and enjoy train watching!!

Since no one had any meal ideas for me, I've been  pondering and pondering on what to fix for today.  Since it's still a tad bit on the cool side (at least here in Louisville, this morning, and into the afternoon, how about:

1.  Beef stew w/oven baked cornbread

2.  Minestrone soup

3.  You choice of BLTs or grilled cheese sandwiches

Randy, sounds like you've got everything just about under control now!  I hope it stays that way for you.

Everyone have a good afternoon, enjoy your lunch, and I'll see you all later.
