My girls got me up, allowing that they had to go outside

Boy, tom...."allowing that they had to go outside"......Rain here this morning, and that is our problem....Our new young pup will not go in the rain....Just could not make it happen yet this morning......For the last 3 hrs.

Temp in the 40's now....and overcast with light rain, with brief interludes from it.....Tomorrow starts several days of sunshine again....Two things....we'll be able to get this pup out in the grass to do her business.....and....3 days of sunshine, yard mowing will be in order.

Only 3 big 10 teams remain in march madness.

Including Michigan State!

Syracuse is still kicking **** and taking names.  Go Orange!

It doesn't get tough rooting for teams until it's two teams you like....

Cloudy and windy here today - good day for working indoors, which I should be doing instead of playing on the computer....

My bracket is not busted. I'm moving up on the leader. Her bracket shows just one win ahead of mine. Last year's winner IS busted. A brother in law flew out to Spokane from VA to watch his Terps. He is not taking calls today. LOL

Have a good one everyone.

Sold out by two.  Love it.

Got some modelling to do - I'm assisting with an incident command course and we need a fuming sulfuric acid car.  I may do a molten sulfur car while I'm at it...

I'd prefer a new Buick if you wouldn't mind....

Yes, do go for the new Buick; it's much safer that what Larry plans to work on. Concentrated sulfuric acid is bad enough, but fuming sulfuric acid? Leave it alone!Smile

I did not see any difference that the sun's coming north of the equator made in the weather. I can open the living room curtains earlier and not have sunlight shine in Ricki's eyes as she eats breakfast.

Well, looks like no one has given me any meal suggestions.  So, here's what I've come up with:

1.  Leftover meat loaf w/all the fixin's from yesterday

2.  Chicken stir fry, with all the Chinese veggies, won ton soup, egg rolls, beef & broccoli

Speaking of the cars, I truly wish I still had my 1973 Plymouth Duster.  Even though it was a 2-door, that was a good mid size car.  (And I could see over the dash in it, too!)  In Sarah's Jeep, I can just barely see over the dash, and can't see anything in front of us.    Unless they're about two car lengths in front of us.

Had a little bit of light rain this morning.  So far, nothing this afternoon, yet.  Everyone enjoy the rest of the afternoon, keep safe and take care.

Worse, it's going to be involved in a "collision" with a school bus....  Pity the poor soul who gets to be 'incident commander' on that scenario.  I just get to help run the scenarios.  I might end up as the police/fire/EMS dispatcher.

As background, we'll be working on an HO scale simulator which includes "city," "suburb," and "rural" areas, as well as an airport and an Interstate.  There are several set scenarios, and the lead instructor for this one has created several others.

A class runs a scenario:

The new crash/rescue station at the airport:

Somebody missed a stop sign:

The K9 officer (with his trusty police dog) talks with another officer about where he got the donut he's holding...

I did a comprehensive rehab of the simulator a couple of years ago - refinishing and decalling most of the emergency vehicles (around 100), as well as some others, building a new hospital, complete with helipad as well as the airport CFR station, installing fire hydrants color coded for flow (I used O scale hydrants so you could see them) and refreshing the foliage and ground cover.  There were also railroad tracks in place, so with the help of the local HO club (I model N scale), they now have a number of cars and a locomotive as well.

It came out quite well, if I do say so myself...

Good Tuesday morning, everyone.  It looks like a pretty good day shaping up around the Louisville area. We have a temp this morning of 42, 43 degrees, going for a high in the mid 60s.  The sun is supposed to be back out today.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  Mookie, here's your mug!

On the serving station this morning:  turkey bacon, pork sausage, scrambled eggs, hash browns or tater tots, made-from-scratch buttermilk biscuits hot out of the oven w/sausage gravy.

Thinking ahead to lunch/supper menu today, do we have our Mexican Fiesta, or would you all like something different?  Please let me know, all right?  I'll be back in later, after I get through with Tuesday Produce.

You all keep safe and take care.

Good morning, and thanks for breakfast. At present, 38 and sunny in Carolina, headed for the mid 60s so they say. The girls left me alone last night, and I have to wake THEM up for a change. Time to get them up and out to the yard, and not wake up the wife in the process.... Strange that they know when something is outside or if the neighbors dog is around. They raise the roof till we let them out and then straight to the fence. All the while, we haven't heard a thing! Everyone take care

Tree - from the looks of your set up, maybe there is still hope for me to get to play with the "tonka toys"?  Approve  Or maybe not.  Didn't see my Buick, either.  But best to play with these than the real things.

CW - thanks for coffee.  Sun is out and while chilly, still good to see something warm for a change.  Sounds like Sir Mud will have something to contend with today.  Wet and white and lots all over.

You're very wlecome, Mookie.

We had 50 people show up today for the Produce.  On the truck today:  Romaine lettuce, greens, onions, potatoes, yellow squahs and  (yuck) asparagas.

Since no one gave any suggestions or alternatives, I've started our Mexican Fiesta:

1.  Burritos (beef, beef and bean, beef enchilada style)

2.  Tacos (soft shell and hard shell)

3.  Refired beans

4.  Chimichangas

5.  Fajitas

6.  Mesquite-grilled beef or Tilapia

Everyone enjoy, have a great afternoon, and take care.

Yep, springtime in the rockies....70 degrees followed by eight inches of snow followed by 65 degrees followed by 14 inches (predicted)...followed by warm and more snow (it only took a day to melt eight inches).....Think I'm gonna spread light fertilizer during the next melt.

We might see some green by May.

Sir C - I think you are tempting fate...da Boyz are catching on that you take them in and one of the "ends" gets worked on!

Put all that nice water into the little streams that you have and send it this way.  We will need it for spring planting.  And we can tantalize Kansas with it!

I haven't seen any robins yet, but the hyacynths we set out by the front door some thirty years ago  (and have not tended since) are blooming--two weeks early (they usually bloom about Easter). We had a light snow here last night.

Robins are in the area, as are cowbirds, grackles, and red-winged blackbirds.  Had fun with grandson today - let him stand in the kitchen sink and check out the denizens of my bird feeders.

My tulips have broken through the mulch, but are still a ways from blooming.  On the other hand, I haven't seen my croci yet.

We got an inch of rain overnight, but aside from the creek running brown and a bit high, nothing untoward has happened as a result.

Daughter was up today to visit with her Dalmatian (I'm merely his caretaker).  He's suffering from arthritis and fibromyalgia, which has affected his movements and strength.   I'm afraid he's not long for this world, as things seem to be progressing fairly quickly.

Of course, her visit brought a visit from the grandson as well, which was fun.

Another busy day tomorrow.  Time for bed.

What a beautiful sunny day this was. Aledo HS girls had their first softball game. My grand-niece is the catcher. I got a great pic of her lunging for a catch of a spinning foul ball down the third base line.

Tree - I am sorry to hear about the Dal.  The one part of pet ownership that I always dreaded and didn't deal with too well, either.

Going to sneak into the pantry and dig around for an early breakfast.  (maybe cold pizza?)  Chef

Peace be with you! 39 and clear in Carolina before sunrise. Larry, I am so sorry about the Dal and his problems. The short lives of dogs is offset by the love and devotion that they show us. Hopefully, he has many more days left in him. Everyone have a great day

Good Wednesday morning, everyone.  Larry, I'm so very sorry to hear about the Dal.  We are having some of the same concerns over our Win-Win doggy right now.  She has several health problems, and they seem to be getting worse.  We know what you're going through.  Our thoughts are with you.

Sarah and I went out for a couple of hours yesterday evening.  We had a pretty good time, but did not see any trains.  We were back home around 8:30 last night.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  (Mookie, here's you coffee mug!!)  It won't be long, and I'll be ready for mug # 2.

On the serving station this morning:  bagels, bear claws, bacon, sausage, eggs (however you want them), made from scratch buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy, and if you don't want any of that, there's plenty of cereal you can choose from.

You all have a very good morning, keep safe and take care.  Taking requests for rest of today's meals.

Ray is back- after having spent nearly a full six weeks with my sister out in Wyoming. When I got home though, which was the night of Saturday the 13th, I discovered that my computer would not boot up for me. And considering it's age, my sister convinced me that I would be better off replacing it with a new machine rather than trying to get it fixed. The computer expert in my family told me that my hard drive was either shot or I had some issues with errors.

I went out to our local Best Buy store and bought a new computer the day before yesterday and their "Geek Squad" came over and set it up for me yesterday afternoon. I was able to replace my old computer with a sizeable tax return that I should be getting within the next few weeks, and my new machine is a joy to work with.

Right now we have a temp of 30 degrees here in Sioux Falls, and it is supposed to warm up here to about 50. I think I will go for a walk later this morning and take my camera with me, maybe I will be lucky enough to spot a BNSF or a Dakota & Iowa train rolling through my neck of the woods.

The sun is breaking thru a light overcast here now.....Mod temps.  Upper 30's earlier this morning.   Should be quite a bit of sunshine today.

Dogs / pets......That is a sad affair when they get into health problems.  Have experienced that twice in the last several decades.  32 years of them.  But, against my wishes, we have a brand new 11 mo. of age pup now to try to do it our way again....And of course it's a challenge.  Speaking of getting the business done outside.

Today, I will shorten the grass so this little short legs pup will negotiate thru the wet grass in the morning and evening to take care of the necessaries....Sure hope that helps.

Spring continues to push forward each day with more evidence....Very welcome.
