rvos1979Talked with a driver that now has the new paperless log book that we will be going to soon, and afterwords, am looking forward to working with it, especially after the story he told about the New York DOT officer who thought he would get an easy inspection, only to find out the truck had paperless logs, and passed the truck up.
Randy, when you gain access to your log, can you show it to someone else? Does the driver have to operate the system when the log is inspected? Why would the officer pass the truck without inspecting the log?
Thanks
Johnny
CW ; times are getting better for produce delivery. We got 10 pallets of goodies here today. What was a real blast, we got a pallet of TOMATOES; 2600 lbs.The price of them has gone thru the roof here in AZ. ( 2.99 ) a lb. Somewhere there is bad weather where most are grown. They are cool storage, but don't havefuzzy beards. Cabbage ~ carrots ~ lettuce and different kinds of ( shrubbery) salad. The last pallet was bananas ( Chickipoo ) brand All this came from area grocers , mostly Krogers. Yeah ~~ even out here~~ though called Frys. Hope the furnace gets beat upon properly to work. Respectfully, Cannonball
P.S. most of the stuff came by train.

The emergency medical services world is moving to electronic record keeping in the field, which will allow for a quick download at the hospital and easy transmission to insurance companies for billing purposes. I haven't worked with them yet, though, so that's about all I know about them. It'll sure beat all those paper copies...

Good Friday morning, everyone. Randy, sorry to hear about the extra trouble with your trailer. Hope everything will work for you.
We had a very interesting night: Mookie, Walt was on the computer, typing a reply to you about the furnace, when our power went out, at 9:50 p.m. Got power back around 12:58 this morning. Someone reported "Sparks coming from the transformer", across the street from our house. So not only did we have a couple of police cars at the two intersections on our block, but the fire department showed up. Then the power company finally showed up.
No, we still do not have heat, except for the space heaters. Got a call from the electrician, they will be out first thing this morning, probably around 9 a.m. Walt and I had to listen to the UK game on our windup emergency light/radio. The only good thing last night, was that UK won the game.
Woke up at 5:00, hearing about snow showers at 4:15 this morning. Gone now, no accumulation. But our temp is at 34 degrees, going for a high in the low 50s.
Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go. And our Friday morning doughnuts, danish, bear claws and bagels are on the serving station.
Everyone have a good morning, keep safe, warm and take care.
Good morning, and thanks for breakfast. 59 degrees and dark in Carolina at present. The sun is below the horizon, but we are seeing a difference in the darkness. Nothing to brag about on the wireless, so I will likely go back to bed. Everybody have a great Friday and take care.

Good morning. At the present moment we have 28.8 degrees here in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and it looks like it will be a fairly nice day here, with a high of 54 or a little better than that. I've been up for a little bit longer than a half an hour and if I wake up anywhere between 5:00 and 7:00, there is no going back to sleep for this guy!
I hope the rest of you are all having a good day, and CW, thanks much for breakfast this morning!
good friday morning!!! we are on spring break!! matt will join us after school today.Cw thanks for breakfast.Need to get a nap.Grandpa is coming for local fish fry tonight. Then we are going to watch more of march madness.Next week looks great for trainwatching.

CW! Not a happy time in Loo-Ville! To make up for it, I will send a little warmth your way. It won't be much, but it is all I could strangle out of the weatherperson. It is 38 here now, but with strong south breezes, will make it up to around 60. Then rain comes back. We seem to have these little gust of energy coming from out Sir Mud's way. They just keep hanging on. Next week will be a little better with high on Wed up to about 70. Will squeeze it and then send it on to the east.
Think Tree is having a weather issue, also.
Not following BB, but Big 12 is still in the running, I believe. K-State?
Going to the "pahk" this afternoon with Driver. We are going to frolic in the sunshine. That means we are going to feed a peanut to the local squirrel and doze in the sun.

Yep Mooks - Kansas State (and Cincinnati is a bit grumpy about that outcome this morning)...Nailbiting time for BHanel is tonight. Sorry to see that Cornell went no further (but they will still win the GPA and graduating rate competition).....
Rain turning into 4-6" of snow starts here this afternoon, so here we go again. The freshman lab rats at good 'ol Weatherliar U. are rushing to complete their winter weather thesis?
MookieThink Tree is having a weather issue, also.
Were it not for the national sales aspect of NCAA tournament games, Cornell would have had a hometown crowd for their game - as it was played only an hour from the school, at the Dome in Syracuse.
Speaking of Syracuse, looks like Butler got the best of them.
29 for the low here earlier this morning....White puffy clouds in the nce bluie sky, with a good amount of sunshine. But, to see just 48 today. That's a bit cool for what I wanted to do....But we'll watch it and see......
Walt / Paula....That sounds like terrible service from the furnace installers....Hope you get that problem resolved soon. Good it didn't happen in the depth of Winter.

Quentin, the guy came out this morning. Said the float on the condensate pump was stuck. Yeah, we've not been real thrilled with the service we got from them, last month, when they were installing the furnace and all the duct work. They just happened to be the low bidder, from the city grant we got.
Mookie, the house is finally warming back up (again). The insulation they put into the walls, ceiling and crawl pace/part cellar seems to be working just fine. It didn't get as cold in here overnnight, as it would have. Nice to have the house retaining heat a little bit better than before.
Our Friday Fish Fry is now on the serving station. All the regular types of fish, and the side dishes and desserts.
You all enjoy, have a good afternoon (Mookie, don't get 'sunburned' sitting in the park feeding the squirrels), and take care. See you all later on.
Well, it happened again: our power went off at 3:30. Do not know what caused it this time. I phoned Mookie, and left a message for her, around 5:25,and lo and behold, two minutes later, the power is back on! Hopefully, it'll stay on this time.
Looks like things have been slow in here this afternoon. The serving station has been replenished with the fish, fries, baked beans, etc., ready for tonight.
Brian, hope Iowa does well tonight.
Everyone have a good evening, and see you all later.
Currently in Denver, we have White-Out just before Lights-Out.
OH the things that just showed-up from the National Archives - It's gonna be a long weekend sorting out what they just found for me railroadwise.

Well, they did well, but not well enough. MSU was on top of their game in the second half.
Off to bed-

Good Saturday morning, everyone. We have 33 degrees at 7:19 this morning, with clear skies. Going for a high of 64.
Coffee, juices and the rest of our morning beverages are fresh and ready to go. On the serving station this morning: buttermilk pancakes (regular, whole wheat, blueberry) with your choice of bacon or sausage, along with pure maple syrup, blueberry syrup, or your can have fresh fruit on your pancakes. If you don't want that, there's scrambled eggs, toast, grits, toast, made-from-scratch buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy and country fried ham w/red eye gravy.
Hopefully, you all will have a great day, keep safe, and I'll see you all back tonight for our pizza fest.
....31 degrees 2 hours ago....but clear with the sun shining thru the trees east of me....
I sure hope it gets to a decent amb. temp today.....Have been putting off 3 days now the initial mowing I want to do....Should be able to make it today.....Maybe without the shorts on but I'm determined to get that done today....Even if it takes reg. long pants to stay warm....
Hope my faithful John Deere starts....Has not been run since last November. But if not, we've got the portable carry around boost unit that will....
Some small leaves and red buds on trees now....along with a generous amount of flowers here and there....Golf course has had it's first mowing....so Spring evidence is becoming abundant now....and beautiful blossoms are next....But rain forecast for tomorrow....Then warmer still next week.

Go State!
Nothing like some friendly rivalry!
Of course, my "home team," 'Cuse, got beat, too...
tree68Go State!
From this point on, I'm with you. At least we could say that UNI got beat by the best if they go all the way.
Still a pretty nice day. First lawn mowing is in the record books now. Looks really nice. Good 'ol John deere started right up...
Question: I am really surprised no comments of the Roanoke rail cam showing a rather long {non Amtrak}, passenger train....{Private cars....?}, passing thru at 10:13 this morning.....Any diner patron see it....if so, what do you to think it was.....I'm wondering if it had any thing to do with the Master's Tournament in Georgia.....??
Here's our pizza menu for tonight:
1. Cheese
2. Canadian bacon
3. Goetta
4. Hawaiian
5. Pepperoni/mushroom
6. Supreme
7. Italian sausage
Our weather today has been pretty nice. Currently sunny with a temp of 63, but on the breezy side. Definitely need a jacket, or a light windbreaker w/a good lining in it.
Everyone have a good evening, keep safe and take care.
Evening all. CW, thanks for supper!
We went up to Lafayette today to watch some trains. We saw 3! I took my new camera, and got good shots of all 3 of them. Here’s what happened.
We waited for about 10 minutes, when we saw a big blue GE blasting our way from the north. It was an Ex- LMS -8 locomotive with a super cab on the point with a mixed freight train. Then we saw a CSX -8 with a standard cab on it. It was struggling upgrade (Eastbound) with about 26 loads of grain. Then NS sent a WAY over-powered 9 car Extra train Eastbound. It had a -9, and an ES40DC. Here are the shots.

Hi
what a day today! Matt and I got some chores done early this morning then went to Deshler. We had some NS reroutes due to a coal train derailment in waterloo Indiana. The action was pretty good with alot of meets. Also we talked with one of the members of the historical society.A local resident put the museum in their will and now it is getting a facelift.Modelcar that special train could have been the ns buisness train.it was going to pick up 2 extra cars at Roanoke and go south to the masters.Cw thanks for the pizza.I will work on getting some pictures together later.
Joe

Joe.....If I had to make a guess, I'd say you are correct as to what that "passenger train" was.....The ones {cars}, I did see, about a dozen, seemingly were the same dull maroon color, which leads me to believe it might have been the business train.
I sure was surprised to click on the site and see a passenger train spread all the way across my 16 X 9 ratio monitor....A nice site....
I'm seeing quite a bit of traffic from that rail cam....
Went to the Central Plains Severe Weather Symposium in Lincoln today, and then watched trains at Camp Mookie. There were 12 trains in just under two hours, which is really pretty remarkable. BNSF sure knows how to put on a good show. The severe weather symposium was also very nice this year, with a good mix of speakers.
Willy
Justin; all 3 shots are very clear. CSX 7586 looks weary ( almost tired iron). Her ditch lights looks like bulging eyes ~~~ from pulling so hard.#1 shot has my vote for the day.Your composition & camera make a good pair, keep up the good work.
Cannonball
good morning
breakfast is on the warmer bar.coffee is ready to go.fire department is out our way taking care of an abandoned house fire.will be time soon to wake up Matt for sunday school and church. An umbrella day today but the rest of the week looks great.
Good morning everyone. 47 and partly clear in Carolina a half hour after sunrise. Supposedly, it will make it to 69 later and then thundestorms for the next 9 hours! I think I shall beat it to the punch and disconnect the wireless and rotors before it all gets here. Everyone take care
And we too have overcast / rain this morning. Probably will be with us until early tomorrow morning. Then, the "L" is to move on and we are to get into some pretty nice weather this coming week.....Up to 76 degrees by Thursday...! That will be our warmest, if it occurs.
Temps are mild this morning.....48 earlier.
Glad I accomplished our yard mowing yesterday...It looks so nice and green and even this morning....Spring is here....!
Church is next.....a good day for all.
