Good Thursday Christmas Eve morning!  Joe, thanks for setting things out for me!  The coffee really tastes good this morning.

On the breakfast/warmer bar, you all will find:  bagels, bear claws, turkey bacon, sausage (pork, of course), scrambled eggs, fried country ham w/red-eye gravy, grits, oatmeal, sausage gravy, homemade buttermilk biscuits and fried taters, hash browns and tater tots.  Yes, I'm giving you lots of choices this morning.

Everyone west of us, please take care, and be very, very safe this long holiday weekend.

What would you all like to have for lunch and supper menus today?  This is my holiday gift for you all:  whatever you want to eat, let me know and I'll fix it up!

See you all after a little while.

Since no one gave me any ideas for lunch, how about this?

1.  Cold cuts on the cold end of the food bar

2.  Burgers, cheeseburgers and brats w/your choice of chips, or fries and garden salad

Evening all.  Hope everyone has had a very good day.  My doctor's appointment went well.  The test results:  a tiny bit of degeneration of my heart, but nothing to be concerned about just yet.  And the carotid arteries show very little blockage, so I'm good to go there.  Guess the Plavix I've been taking for the last two years is doing it's job!!

Since I've not been in since this morning, I'll make it up to you all in the morning, by fixing up a big ole country breakfast for everyone, including Mookie's bagels and Larry's bear claws.  And of course, you know I always have plenty of extras for anyone else who wants to partake of either one, or both, if you want.

Everyone have a good evening, stay nice and warm, keep safe and take care.

Houston Ed:  Do you think you could post your railroad version of T'was the Night Before Christmas?  I for one would absolutely love to read that again!!  And if you can, then Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!

Someone beat me to it..see the Christmas Switch thread...but check your email too...

After a long but uneventful drive I arrived in the land of snow - Maryland - to a hug from granddaughter, which makes it all worth it.

The little one is in bed, the toys that needed assembly are assembled, the gifts are under the tree, and all the "big kids" are headed for bed, too.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all, a good night!

I am keeping my eyes on the storm system which has moved into my area in the last several hours. The Interstate highway, I-90 between Sioux Falls and Chamberlain has been shut down due to blowing and drifting snow. The area where I live could receive anywhere between 12 and 20 inches of snow between late tonight and mid-afternoon tomorrow.

Depending on what tomorrow's weather conditions will be, my family's annual Christmas party might be delayed until Saturday or Sunday. I went to my neighborhood grocery store yesterday afternoon and stocked up on soup, crackers, bananas, oranges, peanut butter, and a few odds n' ends, just in case I might find myself snowbound here tomorrow morning.

Merry Christmas to the rest of you folks out there!! Stay safe, & Stay warm!

I haven't been around for a while, but just wanted to wish all the regulars a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.  Oh yes, and for those of us who live "up north", a short and warm winter.

Sadly, no...Ralph the Red Nosed Wrangler is out of service awaiting a new water pump and radiator....and Ammie threatened to shoot me if I put antlers on the Challenger....

Our only snow storm/hard freeze this year did in the pump...but after 14 years and150,000+ miles, its about time something on it broke, I guess.

Merry Christmas everyone!  It has taken me/the computer two and a half hours to get here.  Not sure what the problem was, but oh well, it's Christmas, and I'm not going to get steamed about it today!

Joe, thank you very much for fixing breakfast.  For here, I have the turkey in the oven, along with a nice ham, so you all have a choice of one or the other, or both.  All the regular side dishes will also be available, including potato salad (to go with the ham) and garden salad.  There's also banana croquets (bananas dipped in mayo and rolled in chopped nuts.

On the dessert menu today, it runs from sugar Christmas cookies, brownies, chocolate cake, yellow cake, pecan pie, pumpkin pie, mince pie, etc.

Although, I imagine it'll be very, very slow in here today, with all of you visiting with family and friends.  For Walt and me, it'll be a very quiet day here at home, with us, the dog, and the two cats.

Larry, I'm very glad to hear that you made it to Maryland safe and sound.

And Jay, very pleased to see you in.  It's been a long time.  Hope in the coming year, you'll be able to drop in a little bit more often!!

Merry Christmas, everyone, and may you be blessed with every good wish imaginable, today and every day.

Good morning and Merry Christmas to the rest of you folks out there! It is still snowing here in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and I was just looking out my front door, it looks like we already have 12 to 14 inches of snow on the ground here, and we could easily get another 12 inches by 12:00 noon tomorrow. It has been a long time since this area has seen a snow storm of this magnitude.  I received a call from one of my sisters at 8:00 this morning, and because the roads here are so impassible, we have decided to wait until at least tomorrow afternoon for our annual Christmas party. I am snowbound here, but I consider that to be something of an adventure. Currently, our temp here is about 15 degrees above 0, the wind chill factor leaves us at about 3 above 0.

Merry Christmas all!

Santa, in a way, brought me 3 lumps of coal. The Rebel XS’s body is in black, also is the 18-55mm and 75-300mm lenses in a coal black color. Nevertheless I couldn’t be happier. I’m Just glad that I get to spend today with family. Celebrating the birth of my Lord, and savior Jesus Christ.

Have a safe day all.

Justin

Merry Christmas Flat Wheel Cafe friends and fellow railroaders. Sun shining in the AZ mountains and will be in mid-forties after mid-day.

We will have Christmas dinner at the home of friends as we did last year. Several of us do this when we cannot be with our families. We were with our family at Thanksgiving but glad we chose not to drive to Lawrence-Topeka, KS for Christmas given the severe weather they have.

About ten inches of snow here, but drifts as high as 4 or 5 feet. Still a couple more inches to come.

Merry Christmas! Everyone have a safe, blessed day.

.....As Christmas Day progresses here, we're being blessed with weather on the "warm side" of the massive Low system that's plaguing the middle of our country.  46 plus degrees now.....all snow {very little}, melted that we had, and just a few drops of rain at times with probably 10 -15 mph winds.

Re-read Willy's posting and that is why I am thinking about becoming a snowbird.  Problem is finding enough feathers for both of us.

Anyway - Merry Christmas to all.  Enjoy the quiet time with family and friends.

We have had drizzle off and all day, but right now, I don't think it's doing anything outside, except for the wind blowing.  It's really been gusting at times.  Current temp is 37 degrees here in Louisville at 4:48 p.m.

Our Merry Christmas Dinner at the Flat Wheel Cafe/Diner is now on the warmer bar:  turkey, dressing, roast, taters, carrots, cranberry sauce, green beans, dumplins', corn, dinner rolls and crescent rolls, along with all the different salads and desserts:  brownies w/nuts, sugar cookies, fudge (chocolate, vanilla, peanut butter) and the mince, pecan and pumpkin pies.  Randy, I believe there's also some cherry pie, too!

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good evening!!
