Hi gang, thought I'd open it up early. Quiet weekend, even after the Toledo post office screwed me royally Friday night. Apparently, they didn't care that I had to be in Cleveland at 7am Saturday. In Knoxville tonite, headed for Albany, GA, tomorrow, then who knows where.
See everyone later.....

Good Tuesday morning, everyone, and Randy, thank you very much for opening up our new location! Sounds like you're really keeping busy.
Coffee and the rest of our morning beverages are ready to go, and on the warmer/breakfast bar this morning: bagels, bear claws, turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, toast, homemade buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy.
I'll definitely be putting my thermals on this morning. Current temp is 34, so imagine it will be at least 32 when I go out for Tuesday Produce at 8 a.m. Back is feeling better this morning (at least so far).
CW, thanks much for fixing breakfast for the rest of us this morning! I think I'll grab myself a bear claw while I am in here.....
The word is now out that this bag of scum who killed the four police officers in Washington State was cornered by the police in Seattle and was gunned down in a firefight with these officers. I would imagine that a lot of people out there are heaving a huge sigh of relief over this bit of news.
Ray ooo ooo ooOOOOOo
good morning
Cw thanks for breakfast.Matt is on time and on the bus.Time for a nap.Chores to do this afternoon.

Couple of inches of snow at my house, less closer to Watertown. Police, fire, and EMS are busy chasing "vehicle off the road" calls all over the place. Most involve no injuries - just a slide off the road and the occasional rollover. I hear it's supposed to warm up, so this may be gone before long.
Good day to sit back and enjoy a hot mug of tea and a bearclaw.

I am home from the family Thanksgiving in Topeka and Lawrence, KS. I drove and encountered no adverse weather conditions which some may consider fortunate as blizzards frequently occur along this 1660 mile route after late October, but not in 2009.
I shall enjoy CW's fine meals after too much restaurant food along the way. Fortunately there was some home cookin in KS.

CW, nice new ( decorations ) pine boughs with holly and tinsle trimmed with non imatation glass ornaments ~~~ nice touch. Those book titles you spoke of is great. Put the list on the next outbound RPO car . I am sure Mary Whitebuck and myself can find them very interesting. Now it would be nice to have some warm cider / w a cinnomon stick and a pecan roll. Respectfully, Cannonball

Gee, it's been kind of slow in here this morning, hasn't it? Mookie, I was wondering about that myself. Cannonball, glad I could give you a little info.
Since it's so slow in here, instead of our usual Tuesday Mexican Fiesta, I think we'll make this another soup and sandwich day.
The soups for this afternoon and to night are: mild chili, vegetable beef and there's some turkey noodle soup left from yesterday.
The sandwiches will be: PB&J, grilled cheese, tuna salad, bologna & cheese and roast beef.
You all enjoy and have a good afternoon. See you all later.
Hello all,
Busy day today. Someone robbed the Hillsboro IN. bank. That, in turn, put our school on lockdown. They were going to land a police chopper in our footballs teams field, but they apprehended the suspect in Danville ILL.
Hope your day was better!
Justin

Had grabbed a post office run from QuadGraphics (the people who print all the fine magazines listed above, and much more) at 11am friday, had a 11pm drop in Toledo and a 7am stop saturday in Cleveland. Got to Toledo at 9, they said come back at 11, no dock space. Came back at 11, they said they were short manpower and too busy to get to me, come back at 6am. I politely told them I had to be in Cleveland at 7, had no effect, so went to bed and came in at 6am. Talked to a third dock supervisor, told him what happened, he finally got me into a dock and unloaded. Was only two and a half hours late at Cleveland, but at least I ran the load legally......
And now you know how our lovely postal service operates.
See everyone later...
So now a new thread will open up with Toledo/Cleveland area Trains subscribers complaining that they got their magazine a day late. And it is all your fault!

Good Wednesday morning, everyone. Jay! Welcome back! We haven't seen you in here for quite awhile. It's good to see you back in here. Hope you can drop in more often.
We currently have 40 degrees, with very cloudy skies. Rain is coming up from the south, should be in some this morning; then, we'll have off/on rain all day. I think the high is to be in the upper 40s. So, seasonal weather around here today.
Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are ready to go, along with hot water for our hot tea drinkers. On the breakfast/warmer bar this morning: bagels, bear claws, oatmeal, toast, scrambled eggs, turkey bacon, sausage and homemade buttermilk biscuits (freshly made this morning, btw) w/sausage gravy.
Don't know if the problem is with trains.com or Firefox, but can't let the print color on here this morning. Had the same problem yesterday.
Guess later on this morning, I'll start addressing a few Christmas cards, and get them out in the mail later in the week. Everyone enjoy your breakfast, morning, and take care.
Good morning
seems csx is busy this morning.we heard 2 trains while waiting for matts bus to arrive. We aslo heard the maws horn too.weather guessers say stuff is coming tonight so we will see.Time for a nap.Cw thanks for breakfast.
Red sky at morning.
And the sun was about the same color as the Trains logo at the top of the page this morning. The radar shows no echos, though, and I thought I heard the forecast as clear all day. Maybe it'll melt the rest of the snow in my yard.
I'll have the usual. Since Ms Mook's not in yet, I'll be in the corner.
Heard some paper rattle just a few minutes ago. Must be Tree trying to hide in the corner.
The cat miffed the Tree - got some hair in his tea. Well, gee - there is hair on paws and you use paws to stir tea.....(oww, oww, oww)
CW - I got my 1st Xmas card yesterday from, as the Driver hollered up the stairs after he got the mail, "Who do we know in Ohio"?
Randy, if the PO doesn't get its act together pretty soon, you may be our new mail delivery person.
And our Canadian friends left the fridge door open overnite. I keep telling them they really don't have to share, but they are so nice about wanting to do so. 32, cloudy, 20-30 mph wind (out of north, duh) and a 60% humidity factor. Our landlord was over yesterday doing some final cleanup of our yard. He picked up all the stray leaves and removed some dead plants. But overnite the 15 leaves from somewhere in the neighborhood got thirsty and found their way into our bird water. Whole yard is clean except for that little water dish. Packed full this a.m.
Just heard Omaha has 5% unemployment and is a very good place to live. Bring $$$$, we need tax relief.
Off to do whatever it is I do.....
Mookie, that card waren't from me. I am from SC.... Moving right along, 52 and rain this morning. I like days like this. Everything is refreshed, and when I was working, it meant an easy day. Everybody take care and stay safe

OK - The promised 50 Degrees and sunshine turned into 20 Degrees, 3" snow and ice. The ditch-hunters from Tree's neck of the woods are here on their baloneyskin tires doing their best kamikaze imitations. Now gonna be in the single digits tonight. Three scotties last seen near the fireplace with BossHen.
I see Mooks got the care package with the aspen leaves....
(Something's wrong - I actually saw a snowplow/sand truck on my street this morning as I swept the sidewalk. They usually don't show for hours or days after the snow stopped.)
We have not had a hint of snow here yet....but just heard of the mention of possible flurries after midnight tonight. No problem. We're ahead of last year on that stuff.....Nov. had no snow like last season. Mid 40's right now and overcast.
Another article in our morning paper about the Brevini heavy gear box Mfg. business being set up in our industrial park at Park one, next to I-69. Production to be underway in a year or so....
Drove by there several days ago to check if the new RR spur back into it from the NS Frankfort line has been started yet, and I see nothing at this time. Length of it will have to be roughly 1 plus mi. or so....The gear sets are made for various businesses but primarily for Wind Turbines that generate Power. Hopefully, we'll soon see progress on that siding back into it.
Understand those gearsets weigh in the 48,000 lb. category, hence the need for RR access. That's just a few miles from me and we'll be watching for the spur to be started.

Notes to 2 people posted on bulletin board:
CW - I have addressed a handful of Xmas cards. I have Rd, Ln, Dr, Pl, Ct and BLVD - doesn't anyone just live on a street any more - (cept you and us?)
Sir Chicken - if the aspens were from you, they arrived very DOA. Now they are DOA and WET.....and the birds and small creatures aren't happy trying to drink thru them.
Mookieand the birds and small creatures aren't happy trying to drink thru them.
Which reminds me, it's a good thing I've got a "cookie duster," to strain the paw residue out of my tea....
Ms Mook - I live on a "Co Rt"....
MookieAnd our Canadian friends left the fridge door open overnite.
That would be Alberta and her clipper.....
Tree - look again - you live in a small box in a post office.....
Well we used to be able to put RT 6 on a card and it would get to my sisters house. Now the post offfice wants a full address.I can't argue with the speed that the letters get through.Mookie has a package coming from Michigan soon.Got to do some chores.Cw thanks for supper tonight.

Afternoon all.
Better day today. The electrical system was going haywire at lunch today. The fire alarm went off 3 times in less than 3 min. But it was ironed out rather quickly.
Had almost a 30min. Class discussion about rail lines that have went through Fountain County Indiana in speech class today. The rest of my classmates say I know “everything there is to know about trains.” But, I ensured them that on one person can never ever know everything about any topic, and that I’m still learning more, and more every day. No matter how much you think you know, ther is always more to learn!
Have a good evening,
Good evening, everyone. Sorry that I haven't been in since this morning. But my back has really been bothering me today. It's all I can do to find a comfortable position to sit, and I have to stand in a leaning forward direction. Good thing I go to my GP tomorrow. Maybe he'll be able to prescribe something so I can get some relief.
For supper tonight, you have sloppy joes w/fries and garden salad.
Everyone take care, and have a good evening. Mookie, I didn't make it to the point of beginning to address Christmas cards today. Hopefully, I will be able to do that tomorrow afternoon.
Paula, I am sorry your back is bothering you. I have the same problem. A friend gave me some pain patches that worked, so I asked my doctor and he prescribed some for me. After the insurance, our copay was $196.20, so we left them at the pharmacy... Of all things, we are under a tornado watch until 4 in the morning. That is kinda unusual for December. I have found a place that has all episodes of THE ADDAMS FAMILY TV series from 1964-66. I have spend the past few hours watching some of the most outrageous comedy by some talented actors. How many remember that series? Everyone take care

CW - I hope your back gets better soon! Hopefully there is nothing too serious going on.
Tom - Not only is it a tornado watch, it's a PDS (Particularly Dangerous Situation) tornado watch. Stay safe tonight.
It was indeed cold here today, but what do you expect during December in Omaha? It will be even colder tomorrow with highs only in the upper 20s. There could also be some light snow on Sunday. Now if we could just get a big snowstorm for once.
Willy
Tom, I can remember when the Adams Family series was being aired during my youth, and it always generated a good deal of laughter with members of my family, especially my Dad. I very rarely watch television any more as I don't subscribe to cable service, and in my opinion, there is hardly anything worth watching anymore.
CW, I hope your doctor is able to do something for your back, I know how miserable you must be feeling because I've been there a time or two. I believe in chiropractic medicine, and if it were possible to send you to my chiropactor, I would do that.
The temp here has gotten down to 23 degrees and the wind chill makes it seem colder than that. I had gone to my neighborhood grocery store for a few things and we were getting snow flurries when I came home. It probably will not amount to much though.
Ray, I only watch Trinity Broadcasting on the TV, and most of that is on the computer. The Addams Family is also on the computer. I think I like Jackie Googan as Uncle Fester as my favorite actor in the series. Speaking of him, it is hard to accept that he was once married to Betty Grable, the most sought after pinup girl of WWII. Rainng hard at present, and the girls won't go out. Gotta watch them close.
