Afternoon all,
Lot of the white stuff on the ground. About a quarter of an inch here. Hope you all have a good evening.

Good evening, everyone. Well, doctor gave me a pescription for hydrocortozine. I've been itching, since Friday afternoon, late, but no rash. Hopefully, that will help! And yes, Sarah made it to Philly all right, she's safe and sound. She called at 4:45 EST, and was on the train, going to her grandmom's house. She told me that when she landed at the airport, she had to laugh: the airport drivers out on the tarmac were sliding or spinning around.
Looks like it's been pretty slow in here today, not many have been in. Since I was awakened at 4:00 this morning, by a noise (like our mailbox alarm), think I'm going to be going to bed and call it a night. See you all in the mornin'.
P.S. Where's Mookie? Haven't seen here in for several days. Wonder if she's just lurking lately.

Good Tuesday morning, everyone. And mudchicken, thank you for answering my question about the Mookster! At least now I know she's all right, and still with us!!
Coffee, juices, and other morning beverages are ready to go. Breakfast is on the breakfast/warmer bar. All the regular breakfast menu items.
See you all after I get through with Tuesday Produce!
good morning
cw thanks for breakfast.a little dusting of snow this morning.weather guessers have changed forecast to rain instead of snow but here in nw ohio it can turn around quick as a wink.Glad sarah made it home for the holidays.Time for a nap.

Anyone here who wouldn't love to have that much paved real estate available to slip, slide, twirl, and spin our vehicles without fear of hitting anything?
Clear and cold here.
Looks like my trip to MD on Thursday will be uneventful, weather-wise (traffic will be another story). Christmas day may be another story. Hopefully Saturday (the whole family will be together if daughter and SIL can get there) and Sunday (on the road home) will be good, though.

Good afternoon. At noon, clear and 47 in Carolina. It's pretty outside for a change. Thanks for the breakfast and everybody have a great day

Afternoon, everyone. Produce went well this morning. We had close to 70 people, and the guys who help unload the truck, said we could have it outside (we should have gone in, because several people, including yours truly, had feet that were just about frozen! On the truck, we had potatoes, sweet potatoes, chopped lettuce, cartons of egg nog, gallon jugs of skimmed milk, asparagus, and bags of sweet barbecue potato chips from GFS (Gordon Food Service).
On the warmer bar, you'll find a Mexican Fiesta awaits you:
1. Tacos (soft shell and hard shell); 2. Burritos (beef, beef & bean, beef enchilada style; 3. Chimichangas; 4. Fajitas; 5. Spanish rice; along with tortilla chips w/your choice of con queso, picanta sauce, or salsa. The are mild, medium and hot for the dips.
You all have a very good afternoon, stay warm, keep safe and take care. See you all later on.
Evenin everybody. Paula, thanks for supper. Larry, take care while you are on the road. Enjoy the family and spoil the grandkids, just take care on the road.
My girls got into a brawl a few minutes ago and are facing a time out if it happens again. The little one starts something, which is normally ignored by the other. However, if it is not ignored, the fur will fly, and that is what happened this time. When the wife gets home, they will fight over her!
According to the news, Amtrak had another fatal collision in NC. Some woman went around the gates and killed herself and a child. Another child survived, condition unknown. Amtrak has had a lot of collisions lately. It seems to attract them like flies to honey...
Everybody take care, stay warm and safe
Boy! If you want to change your entire outlook on life, spend the days (2) with a ten year old boy!
First boy in our family since my Dad - this is a whole new experience for me!
Tomorrow, we will be alone again, but dealing with another snow/ice storm. Would rather deal with the 10 year old. At least he was no work, wasn't slippery and was very quiet most of the day! And gives great hugs!

.....And don't forget Jen....just nudge that stuff a bit to the north push it up and over the Great Lakes.....We really have no nead for it.

Evening all.
Today was spent wrapping Christmas gifts with Grandma. Got almost all of them wrapped. It was actually a good time for me and Grandma to have some one on one time.
In other news we had snow last night. Almost an inch! It was wet too. Roads were slicker than scum fresh off a Louisiana pond. Plows got out though, and put some salt sand conglomerate down which made things better.
CW, thanks for supper!

Yeah---that might help with the little dribbles and siftings we get here---you can find some other place to ditch the ice stuff though

Good Wednesday morning, to everyone! Mookie, sounds like you're having a blast with your grandson!! Outside of the snow and ice you seem to be getting inundated with.
Coffee, juices, and other morning beverages are ready to go. And on the breakfast/warmer bar this morning: muffins (all flavors), cinnamon rolls and pecan rolls, along with bagels and bear claws.
I've fixed a roast, and it is in the oven for you all to have open-face sandwiches for lunch, with mashed taters & gravy, green beans, slaw and/or garden salad for lunch. My doctor's appointment is at 11:00, so I doubt I'll be in here to get lunch ready for you all.
Everyone, from Larry to whomever else is traveling today, please be extra careful, take care and be extra safe out on the roadways. To everyone else, I'll see you all sometime late this afternoon.
Ahhh, it's good to be home......
Got in yesterday afternoon, after dealing with snow Monday night into Tuesday morning. Not fun with an empty trailer (thank you, whoever invented ABS for semis!) If Willy sends us what he is forecasting, he might not like what I send back in return, I don't care for an ice storm this close to Christmas.
Will be busy day today, with last minute christmas shopping, getting things moved to the apartment for christmas eve (we are cooking dinner), and prepping for the storm coming this way.
See everyone later.....

Light snow this morning - a heavy dusting on the ground. It's supposed to stop for tomorrow, so my drive shouldn't be too bad in that respect.
The hassles will be just north of Harrisburg where I-81 and I-78 run together (often stop and go anyhow) and the beltway around Baltimore. After that I'll see some traffic, but nothing debillitating.
I'm not sure that an early start will help any, but I'm shooting for one anyhow. I still have to bake a pie and make my favorite cranberry relish (and pack the truck) tonight before I call it a night.
What a mess. I have a general whine - in the summer time, "Willy's People" can never predict any rain accurately.
In the winter time, they nail it every time!
We have an ice skating rink behind the house - and that is where the peanuts and birdseed go and where the garbage cans are based. Might have to throw all of it out of the 2nd story window. Poor garbage man - he will have to come up a long driveway to get garbage cans and then whee all the way down into the side of his truck!
Guess we will spend the day quietly inside. Makes for a good marriage. He has a tv and comfy chair and the kitchen and I have a tv, puter, comfy chair and the bathroom. We meet on the stairs at least several times a day.
Well, Messy Merry Christmas to everyone. Sorry about whatever you receive weatherwise, but it isn't me. It is Iowa! And Omaha!
Morning
off for Christmas until our Monday(sun night).Mookie I am not blaming anyone for the weather. Its nw ohio.It can change in 5 minutes or less this time of year.Matt has an early dismissal today.might go see what we can see then.Stay warm inside if you don't have to go out.

Peace be with you. Sunny and 38 in Carolina today. Actually quite pretty outside, but cold enough for the girls to want back in quickly. No ice in the forcast that I know of. Everyone on the road take care.
.....A bit after 11 am here and we have bright, overcast skies with a bit of real fine rain. Temps above freezing. Seems this kind of weather will be with us for next few days, but fortunately, it will be mostly above freezing during daytime.
Believe the nasty stuff we're hearing about west of us will be tracking north thru the Dakota's rather than across our way......
Quiet here too.....Christmas dinner....{all of it}, purchased and prepared by big box store, Meijer's....Have done that in the past and it works out well. Jean has minimum prep that way.
Everyone be careful traveling......and remember this is our time to observe our Lord's birth......Down time for many to be with family. Have stereo in here {office}, and the one in family room on station presenting the Christmas mood sounds.....Kinda nice. Luckily, we've seen many times as this, annually.
Radio sez we will have white Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Christmas Sat, Christmas Sun, maybe white until about July! Sir Chicken - r u listening?
Willy - I am looking for you!
wow is all I can say.We saw 3 westbounds including q 91(empty salad shooter train). We saw q 368 with some retired up switchers going east. Then we saw the Maw cross back across FC to go back into the yard.Sounds like the Maw is still at work putting more cars in storage. Our next door neighbor just brought over some Christmas goodies for tonight.Who wants some hot chocolate??

Mooks: Our snow stops tonight and there wasn't that much of it this time. I managed to slide down to Pueblo, have lunch with visiting LARamsGuy and then slide back into town (lurch has changed from white to road-grit grey)...........I think you got some surplus Wyoming or Canadian white stuff.
gotta go home and clean carpet before Sandy Paws arrives....
Wow,
I feel really bad, but it was 75 and sunny today.
If it makes all of you feel better, it is supposed to get to the 30s Christmas night....
Run Willie, run....

Wonder if Willy can outrun a semi?
Started snowing here about 3pm central, has been snowing since, with some freezing rain thrown in for good measure. Done driving pickup for a while, is parked in heated garage until at least Christmas morning, though my sister and I may just walk to aunts' house that day if it's nice enough (read: not snowing or raining hard). Grocery store is just across street, if needed.
Shopping and wrapping of presents is done, even had some time to set up my DCC system with some spare track and test out a sound-equipped locomotive. Sounds very nice
See everyone later....
Evening all. Hope everyone has had a very good day. My doctor's appointment went well. The test results: a tiny bit of degeneration of my heart, but nothing to be concerned about just yet. And the carotid arteries show very little blockage, so I'm good to go there. Guess the Plavix I've been taking for the last two years is doing it's job!!
Since I've not been in since this morning, I'll make it up to you all in the morning, by fixing up a big ole country breakfast for everyone, including Mookie's bagels and Larry's bear claws. And of course, you know I always have plenty of extras for anyone else who wants to partake of either one, or both, if you want.
Everyone have a good evening, stay nice and warm, keep safe and take care.
Houston Ed: Do you think you could post your railroad version of T'was the Night Before Christmas? I for one would absolutely love to read that again!! And if you can, then Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!
Good evening. Paula, I am glad your Dr visit went so well, and you are good to go. I wish you, and all of my friends a most joyous and safe Christmas and a happy and prosperous 2010. Just stay safe and sound for all of us.
I've gotta say, I'm really feelin' the love in here tonight!
But, there could be good news, for Mookie anyway. Latest computer model data takes this farther east than originally thought, which could mean much less snow for spots like Lincoln and Omaha. Not set in stone, but keep your fingers crossed, Mookie.
Willy
good Christmas Eve morning
