Furnace ran this morning, and there weren't even any windows open in the house. It's up to near 70 at 11, so it should be a decent day.
Started my day with an EMS call - it's always tough when it's someone you know (and this is a small town, so it's easy to know people)
Gotta go refinish a fire extinguisher. Later!

You're gonna need some Wheaties if you want to wear that diamond, Ms Mook!
Has been a rather busy weekend so far, helped Dad pour concrete around our garage and started a new patio out by our pool, just got a call from him today, he wants to pour another section today. In between that, might get the benchwork finished for a two by twelve foot switching layout, I have a Walthers paper mill sitting around that I'd like to use.
Gotta get out to help pour, so see everyone later....

I've got the potatoes on, they'll be ready in a little bit. Everything else is on hold, until about 4, 5:00. Hopefully, we won't get any more rain, so we can grill out. Did have a shower this morning, when I took the dog (4 legged one) out this morning. Now it's mostly cloudy, with a liitle bit of sun shining off and on.
Joe, I'll make sure I have a couple of plates for you for work tonight. And Lance, just in case, there'll be a couple of to-go plates for you, also, if you have to work tonight.

Now that's a left handed compliment if I ever heard one!

We were supposed to have lots of rain today. Well, we haven’t got a drop!
Well, back to school tomorrow.
Everyone have a good evening!

Well, even after a very light drizzle, we've managed to go ahead and get the grilling done; steaks, chops, brats, hot dogs, etc.are off the grill and on the warming tables; so everybody Dig In and grab your food!!
Good Tuesday morning everyone. Sure hope you all had a good day yesterday.
Walt, thanks for taking care of supper last night. You did a fantastic job with the grilling, as usual!
Coffee, juices, milk, chocolate milk, iced teas, lemonade are ready, as well as hot water for hot tea.
On the breakfast bar this morning: oatmeal, toast, bagels, bear claws, and sausage/egg biscuits, along with hash browns, biscuits & sausage gravy.
We have 65 degrees here this morning, with fog. Going for a high of about 81, 82 today. Along with a chance of scattered showers/storms for this afternoon, evening.
I have another doctor's appointment this afternoon, but I should be here for lunch menu. Go back to the knee surgeon this afternoon. It'll be the 2-yr. checkup on my right knee, and he can also check out the ankle/arch support brace.
Everyone have a very good morning, and you all take care.
I hope that the Dr has good news for you CW. A slightly chilly & 'dewy' morning today here in the land 'o cheese & brats. Supposed to be summer-like through the next 7 days or so (Willy-any insight?) with the exception of tonight/Wed AM.
I spent most of my Labor Day laboring as well (I feel the pain Randy!), and also on a garage. We got 16 trusses installed on my 24x24 garage yesterday and finished 85% of the sheeting on the walls. I have to frame in a window on the East side and then trim up some of the OSB that's hanging into the doors and finish by cutting the last little pieces over each car door. That should keep me busy through the week and then it's time to do sheeting/tar paper/shingles next weekend. Weekend after that (19th/20th) should be siding, windows, access door, & doors. All of this started with "Yes, dear...we could really use the space." LOL!

Good morning! 67 degrees and partly cloudy in Carolina this morning. The guess is for a high of 87 and some rain, but that's basically what it was yesterday and neither happened.
Miss Paula, leave that doctor alone, and get an apple or two instead. Remember the old adage about apples and doctors?
Everyone take care

I'm not so sure of that. It looks like you'll be the warmest (mid to upper 70s) this afternoon through Thursday and cooler (lower 70s) over the weekend. Low temperatures in the mid 50s tonight and then upper 50s for the rest of the week and weekend.

Funny, Dan, my dad's ideas start out with 'I've got an idea of what to do with this small problem of ours'. Problem is, it turns into a very large project later on (dad figures he will use about three to four pallets of retaining wall block around the garage and the patio.). The concrete work yesterday turned out real nice, helps when one can bring home the concrete mix truck from work, no need to worry about how to get a concrete mixer in the driveway. After this is done, the next big outdoor project is removing all the old railroad tie retaining walls from our parking area and front garden, and replacing them with retaining wall block. Somewhere in all of this, construction of a pole barn outbuilding will take place as well......
Beautiful late summer day here, think I'll go enjoy it....

Careful, Paula, you may become a doctor "junkie." I should talk, since we are going up to South Ogden right after lunch today for the third of twelve physical therapy sessions (two sessions a week) for Ricki and tomorrow I make my semi-annual visit to my radiologist. Ricki is working on an appointment with a podiatrist to get her toenails cut (she doesn't trust me so much after one of my trimmings caused a nail to grow inwards). I trust your doctor found all well with your knee.
As to Ricki's ejector chair, it did not suit (and it certainly did not suit me, either; it took too long to get into and out of); it was not really comfortable, and the upholstery material was not kind to her bottom so we turned it in for another recliner for me--she discovered that you can get out of my old recliner much more easily than she could get out of her tilt-awhirl (rotating rocker) that she had used for more years than we can remember.

Well, guess it's Good News, and........Good News! Dr. says she is doing well, and unless there's an emergancy she shouldn't have to go back to see him until this time next year. Things seem to be doing as well as (he) expected.
Tom, she took him an apple, and he Did Not Appreciate it!
Joe, we probably could have had one of Matt's "Fog Days" this morning; couldn't see very far in front of you this morning. (think weather service said about 1/8 mile visibility.)
Dan and Randy, ease up on those construction projects and take some "You Time"!
Well, good news is always good news! Way to go, CW.
Came home about $500 poorer tonight, but with a new desktop computer under my arm. The old one flat died. Now comes getting all of the software and files reloaded on this one. Sheesh!
For now it's time for bed.

Some of my bad electronic ju-ju rubbed off over the 'net?
Good Wednesday morning, everyone. And thank you all of you for your 'good wishes' for yesterday. Walt (Mutt) is correct: doctor was very pleased with the new brace: he noticed right off that it was doing the job, and bringing my right foot back in and is straightening it. They also took x-rays of both knees, front, sides, back), and the report is good on them. Although, when I told him about my having quite a bit of pain in the left knee, I wound up with a cortizone shot. First one of those I've ever had, and man alive, do they hurt!
All the morning beverages are ready, including the hot water for tea, breakfast is on the warmer bar.
I have one more trip to make this morning. Back to the Center for Orthotics and Prosthetics, so they can have a look-see on how I'm doing with the new brace, and make sure they approve of the choice of shoes I got. (I sure hope so, because I'm certainly liking them!)
How about a big pot of beef stew w/baked corn bread today for lunch and supper? I hope that is all right, since that's what I have cooking in the Crock Pots . Trying to think of something I can put on, and it'll be ready for you guys & gals in time for lunch.
You all have a great morning, take care, and see you all later.
We have a damp, foggy....morning here in Muncie. Mid 60's temp. Might see some sun {and rain}, later today. But right now, it's really soupy. Visibility very poor...Take note Willy. School buses will be delayed today.
Quentin
well matt is delayed 2 hrs this morning due to fog.track inspector is out looking at track west of Defiance.Time for a nap.Cw thanks for breakfast.
Good morning. CW, I had one of those cortisone shots on my knee as well. He came out with a needle that looked like a 10 penny nail and gave me a shot I still feel 7 years later!I like to have corroded!! Eventually, it was determined that mine was a bone chip and surgery took care of it. 68 degrees in Carolina with a nice day predicted. Everybody have a nice day,
I've not had to have one of those shots (yet) but that reminds me of the military, where you had to get all kinds of shots. (especially when we went to Germany for two weeks) Those "compressed air" "Shot Guns" Hurt! Not sure what sized needle (or nail) they would be compared to, but like a staple gun, if it's not held tightly against the surface, it bounces a whole bunch! (and leaves bruises!)
locomutt it bounces a whole bunch! (and leaves bruises!)
I've heard of people who were cut by them as well.
MC - The old 'puter had been acting up. I really think I overwhelmed it - two many accessories attached.
Biggest problem with the new one is that it has Vista on it, and most of my drivers stopped at XP, so I spent a lot of time online finding the most current/compatible versions.
Beautiful day. I should find reasons to spend more of it outside...
