So far here, it's been a very nice day here in Sioux Falls and our temp right now is just barely 80 degrees, with a humidity factor of 28%. I guess we can't do any better than that!

I saw my doctor the day before yesterday for my mandatory, yearly physical exam, and he seemed to think that my health is pretty good despite my two most serious health problems; Type II diabetes and high blood pressure. My blood pressure this time around, his nurse told me was perfect. My doctor has recommended that I start taking fish oil as a dietary supplement, but I'm not sure I want to do that. He did say that with me being diabetic, it would be good for my heart.

I received a package of information from the National Railway Historical Society yesterday afternoon, and I am considering budgeting $34.00 for a yearly membership.

Paula, did you get yourself a new pair of shoes? And if you did, how are they working out for you? Are they comfortable?

Afternoon.

Well, was a beautiful day here in Western Indiana today. We ended up going to a flea market today. Not the state park. We then went to Lafayette IN for some rail fanning. I caught a NS mixed freight with UP power. Check out my new post called New Train Pix.

Yall have a good evening!

Justin

Well, the weary travelers are home!  We spent the afternoon out in the eastern part#3300ff of the county, doing some shopping:  Peddler's Mall, Whole Foods Grocery Store, and then to the Great Escape (a shop where you can get video games, movies, CD, and, believe it or not, phonograph albums!

Ray, I didn't wear my new shoes today.  Started to, but decided that with all the walking I'd be doing, not to (and the orthotist told me not to, on outings where I'd be doing a lot of walking, until I get totally used to the brace.

Our  Saturday Night Pizza  Fest is:

1.  Anchovie.  2.  Canadian bacon.  3.  Ghoetta.  4.  Hawaiian.  5.  Pepperoni/mushroom.  6.  Supreme.  7.  Italian sausage calzones.

I hope everyone has had a very good day today, doing whatever you had to do, and also hope you all have a good evening.  Take care, and see you all in the morning.

Good Sunday morning, everyone.  Gee, it was dead in here last night, wasn't it?  I'm glad I popped in here unbeknownst to anyone, and put away the pizzas.

Our morning temp is 67 degrees, with 90% humidity.  Supposed to have mostly cloudy skies today, with about a 40% chance of showers/storms.

Coffee, juices, lemonade, iced teas and hot water for hot tea are freshly made, and ready for consumption.

On the warmer bar this morning:  bagels, bear claws, caramel pecan rolls, and cinnamon rolls.

Still feeling quite tired this morning, plus having my right arm hurt:  think it's from getting my flu shot Friday morning.  Right where I got the shot is a nice little swollen area, that feels a little bit on the warm side.

Have the Crock Pots going with our Sunday Dinner in them:  roast, taters, carrots and if anyone has any requests for other veggies to have with the roast, let me know, and I'll get it ready.

Everyone have a good morning, take care, and see you later.

Good mornin' Paula and Justin, and thanks. A beautiful day in Carolina 73 and sunny. It is supposed to get up to the high 80s today, but no thunder forecast. Have a great day.

Good morning! Paula, thanks much for breakfast this morning. Our temp right now in Sioux Falls is 65.8 degrees and it is supposed to top out at about the low 80's for this afternoon. I'll be out my front door to work my other part time job within the next hour, and I think I will be able to enjoy myself, not being rushed to get anything done, like it usually is at Wendy's. I can work at a more relaxed pace.

Paula, if your right arm is sore, I can identify with that! On Thursday of this past week I took a pneumonia shot in my left shoulder, and it has been a bit sore up until now. I could feel the discomfort especially when I'd try to sleep on my left side.

I hope the rest of you out there all have a very good day!

I too have wondered if there would be any rail traffic over the holiday weekend, but certainly overnight and this morning we have heard activity on the Frankfort line of NS.

Overcast here today, and just a hint of rain drops at times.....temp. moderate.

Just returned from church and now will wait  a little while before heading to Ruby Tuesday's for some Sunday lunch.

Believe we have a Nascar race at Atlanta tonight.....That's one of the fastest tracks and makes for good racing....Nice wide track too.

Everyone enjoy their holiday.

Have the Crock Pots going with our Sunday Dinner in them:  roast, taters, carrots and if anyone has any requests for other veggies to have with the roast, let me know, and I'll get it ready.

The roast, taters, carrots & gravy have been taken out of the Crock Pot and put on the warmer  bar; Transferred to the warmer bar from another Crock Pot is  beans.  There's also fresh corn , garden salad, cole slaw, and your choice of baked cornbread or dinner rolls.

We apparently got a little bit of rain overnight, and then a little bit more sometime after 9:15 this morning.  Not sure if we'll get any more this afternoon or not:  guess we'll all just have to wait and see, won't we.

Everyone enjoy your Sunday Dinner, have a good afternoon, and take care.

a csx curfew is when they just run trains that are needed.Like stack trains, the produce train which we saw and ethenol trains. The locals probably won't run and coal and grain trains will probably find a siding somewhere. This usually happens around holidays for most railroads.Although it was said that NS is buisness as usual.

Hello all:

At the close of this Sabbath, it has been a beautiful day here in the NC Piedmont. Very few clouds and temps in the low 80's with lower than average humidity. I have been know from time to time as to call this weather pattern " Carolina Perfect."

Everybody stay safe tomorrow, eat well but wisely and enjoy the last days of Summer.

Roy, welcome back to the fold!  Hopefully, things are settling down at work for you, and you'll be able to come in and join us more often!!

Roast, taters, carrots, etc., have been replenished again on the warmer bar for tonight.  Already have the steaks, hamburger and hot dogs in the fridge, to put on the grill tomorrow afternoon.  Guess I probably need a head count, to see who all will be around here tomorrow, so I know how much of everything to prepare.

Walt and Sarah are somewhere riding their bikes.  When they left, they weren't quite sure where they were going to go ride.  So, I have no idea what time I can expect them to get home, so we can eat supper.

Everyone enjoy your supper and your evening, and take care.

I've got to go work on refinishing an old fire extinguisher at our fire training center, in preparation for our annual memorial ceremony on Friday, but otherwise, I'll be here!

Took in another fire department's 'steak bake' tonight.  Not bad (although the steak was a little rare for my tastes), and for a good cause.  Maybe I'll win the pickup they're giving away, too!

Time for bed.

Good Monday morning everyone, and may you all have a Very Safe and Happy Labor Day!

Coffee, juices, lemonade, iced teas and hot water for hot tea are all freshly made.  There's also  plenty of Gatorade for mudchicken, and chocolate milk for Matt and anyone else who wants it.

On the warmer bar this morning:  turkey bacon, pork sausage patties & links, hash brown, tater tots, scrambled eggs, buttermilk pancakes w/plenty of hot maple syrup, and made from scratch buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy.

I'll be putting the eggs and potatoes on after awhile, then after they cool, I'll make my potato salad, along with some German potato salad.

And, I'll also have to make a trip to the store, as I forgot yesterday, to get the aluminum foil for the charcoal grill.   Everyone have a great morning, and enjoy your holiday breakfast.

CW, Joe, Morning.

Thank you for breakfast! I will try to get mum to allow my parental controls turned down, so I can be on longer.

Tom, Joe,

The past few days NS has been haullin’ *** out of Lafayette IN. I bet it has something to do with the Labor day weekend. Have a friend that sent a txt. He said he has been trackside for 2 or three hours now, and nothing.

Have a good, and safe Labor Day!

See you all later!

Justin

Good morning! At the present moment we have 62 degrees here in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and we have a hazy sky. Our temp this afternoon will top out a 80 degrees or a little better than that.

Thanks much for breakfast, Paula, I'm hungry this morning!

Tom, if you are not feeling very good this morning, I certainly hope that you will have a much better day tomorrow. My thoughts and prayers are with you, my friend!
