Raildriver is a 1/3 scale locomotive control console:

That's yours truly, running on MSTS.
It costs about $150.

I have one, and I love it! I also understand that they may be coming out with a version that replicates a traditional AAR stand. Either way, once you use the RailDriver, you'll never want to run MSTS or Trainz from the keyboard again! Actually moving a lever to advance the throttle or apply the brakes is SO much better than hitting keys. My usual problem was getting to the right key at the right time. I still manage to get into trouble from time to time, but at least if I want to apply some brakes, I know which lever to move.

Well I tried to change the topic off of food and on to something else but someONE put it back on food. Now I won't give any name <Mookie> and I won't point any fingers <Mookie> and I certainly wouldn't throw a cup of coffee <maybe a wet noodle>. Speaking of throwing food there is a restaurant in Missouri, near Branson, where they throw hot rolls to you. I have never been there but my family has. I love hot yeast rolls. Now I wouldn't want to make anybody hungry <Noah> just because I memtioned hot yeast rolls but let me tell you I like them with lots of melted butter. Now some people might want to put butter and honey <Ed> on them and that would be ok too. Then again some people might want butter and picante sauce <Dan>. Some people might like them without anything on them <KEV> [:D] [}:)] [;)] But now I certainly wouldn't want to make anyone hungry but you know hot rolls and pinto beans <Paula> might be ok too. I just had Cream of Potato soup so I am not hungry now, and it is 130 am anyway. Now speaking of potatoes and wanting to turn the topic to trains < [:D] > you know GN or NP (one of them I forget which) was famous for serving very large baked potatoes. When I say large I mean LARGE. Now wouldn't a nice big baked potato with lots of hot melted butter and ham and cheese and broccoli be good about now. HMMM, I am making myself hungry. [;)] I don't have any potatoes to bake and Wendy's is now closed so no baked potato for Jim. [:(] [B)] [:0]

Hey we haven't talked about donuts or other baked items for breakfast. I like Long Johns with maple icing. Caramel is ok but I like the maple a little better but it is kinda hard to find. Heat them a little and put LOTS of butter on them and they are mighty fine eating. [:p] Of course don't forget a nice large, cold, glass of milk. I put my glasses in the freezer and chill them before I put the milk in them. Oh, boy, does it make the milk icy cold and good. [:D] [:p] [:)]

Hey Mookie, invite Nora to the coffee shop, I don't think she has been in yet. [:(]

There is no set topic. However, trains, food, and everything under the sun seem to be talked about. Just post whatever is on your mind. So grab a stool, have a cup of coffee, and just chat away.

It was also suggested that Mookie be the waitress. I have a feeling that even though she does like to chat that she probally has no desire to be the waitress. But I bet she might like a cup of coffee or sip on a hot tea. Every now and then I think a hot tea with honey is a good thing, but for the most part just bring me a cup of good old regular coffee, no cream, no sugar, just plain, hot coffee. Coffee is my cup of tea. [:D] [;)] [:D]

Hey Noah! On a brief diversion from the delights of food, coffee etc etc I have been meaning to ask you, your picture of a WSOR passenger train -
I thought WSOR was just freight.
How often do they run a passenger service? On a regular timetable or excursions from time to time?

Coffee is on - Mookie is breathing - guess the world is going to keep turning.

Nora is coming this weekend. I've got a secret for which I will be off tomorrow, I think , and if I can clear it with those involved, I will whisper it to you on Wednesday. But only with permission!

We will now adjourn and proceed with the rest of our lives!

I don't recall eating peanut butter cups, even on visits to the USA! But it is possible, since I knew they existed. I haven't seen them in Australia. When I'm in the USA, I often spend some time in the first couple of days looking through supermarkets, to check what is available and what isn't, compared to Australia. The range of candy bars, and biscuits is much bigger, in general.

I do like peanut butter, but I am more than a little put off by the energy and fat content specified in the labels. I don't think that data is carried on Australian labels, at least not yet. As far as I recall, we don't get jars of mixed peanut butter and jelly in Australia, at least not that I've seen. I've been told that I shouldn't buy that, because the quality of peanut butter and/or jelly is not up to the standard of normal individual packs!

Dave, have we mentioned "Vegemite" yet? This might be regarded as an alternative to peanut butter as a spread on bread, toast or cracker bicuits. It is something most Americans can't come to terms with! It is composed of solids removed from the beer brewing process, a thick black salty, sticky material. It is a tradition at breakfast in Australia. Even McDonalds make it available with their breakfasts in Australia.

I like it, but I was brought up with it!

Peter

Yes Peter, I like vegemite too - but then again, I grew up with it as well.

I'm not so sure the "up over" folk would take to it so readily. Particularly if one hankers for sweet things rather than savoury snacks.

Ed, what are Keeblers Townhouse Crackers? Savoury or sweet?

Peter...as you speak of lables on American food...Those lables have been with us now just these last few years and of course they are required. If you like to stay away from the reg. peanut butter we also have low fat type as well and it's taste is just as good, at least to me it is. We have it here at home all the time...Hmmm good.
Boy, that product you mention of being removed from the beer brewing process....Believe I would have to pass on that...Sorry.

modelcar, sadly I am not that well travelled at all [:(] some day perhaps -
but I do have a few good friends in the States that I got to know when they were down under. They have introduced me to quite a few intriguing goodies that seem to be U.S. specialties.

I'll have to keep an eye out for the peanut butter/chocolat combo.

Maybe Peter (M636C) has seen them down here?...
