Well, the weather bureau late last week said it would be hot and dry here this week. HA HA HA HA HA....
We have had 4 inches of rain in some spots. We were so thirsty, it soaked right in. But tomorrow - (they never miss on the temps!) we will be about 107 heat index. Oh goody!
Willy, still working on getting you and family down here for Octoberfest!
CW - 1/2 sheet cake - sounds like something that should be enjoyed in the hammock. Nope won't last much past lunch!
Going to go pillow shopping after work, I think. May decide to go feathers this time. There is so much I could do with that, but since he is Andy & Gus's Dad, I won't say a thing.
For now.
I am patient.
Wait until he isn't watching so closely.
Sneak up on him.
Lots of good feathers there.
Biding my time......

Joe, I'd be on the way to Jay's, and our lawn isn't all that big. And we've got trains nearby!
(Also, plenty of geese to pluck. Though we also have family members who are allergic to such fowl things.)

Of course, the airport could be getting rain bad enough to interfere with the flights, and we won't see any of that, either.

The total at home was 2.75 inches. The total at Eppley: 1.40 inches. Some areas just south of Omaha picked up 4 to 5 inches of rain. It's too bad that all year we've been struggling to get the rain and then it all has to come in one big deluge.
More rain could be coming on Wednesday night as well as some severe weather. I have something good to look forward to I guess.

Morning All,
First off, Nance69, it was good to see you in here. I'm so sorry about your son. You and your family will be in my prayers.
Does anyone know why there's a confused looking cat talking to a mirror in here? Maybe we had better get the chocolate cake out now and see if that can straighten matters out.
Well, the temps are starting to climb in Denver again. Still have a bit of the monsoonal flow going, but it isn't dropping as much rain now. It did put on a heck of a light show last night though! I guess by the weekend the temps are supposed to be dropping, which is good as it looks like I'll be hiking up to the top of Mt. Bierstadt Saturday morning (probably the easiest of the 14ers...but still a challenge when one only gets to breathe 60% of the oxygen available at sea level).
Well, I have to go feed the pups. Oscar (the Min Pin) is insisting on the matter. Hopd you all have a good day ~or~

Good Morning everyone out there! I am getting ready to spend another day out at the Sioux Empire Fair here in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Our county fair grounds is the home of our HO scale club, the Sioux Valley Model Engineers Society. We are one of the better "free" attractions during fair week and I will be going out the our club house within a couple hours to run trains for the fair-going public. The Sioux Empire Fair Board owns the building which houses our layout and we have a working arrangement or an agreement which stipulates that we pay no rent for the building that we are in, in exchange for opening up our club's layout and running trains every year during the week of the fair itself. This is our biggest open house of the year, in terms of how much money we take in from the fair-going public in the form of donations.
Some 25 years ago when I joined our club, I started a tradition of providing a lot of homemade goodies for the rest of the club's membership to munch on during the course of our open houses, especially the fair week open house. I had already produced six or seven batches of cookies, and had I not slept so late this morning, I would probably have a pan of my cinnamon rolls in the oven right now.
It is threatening to rain here in Sioux Falls, and I hope it does, although if it does rain, it might have a negative impact on the number of people who will be attending the Sioux Empire Fair today, and thus the number of people who would come in to see our layout and watch the trains roll past them. We got just under 2 inches of rain last week, and considering that it has been so hot and dry here this summer, I would gladly take more rain anytime!

Kibbles to go please. Getting close to time to go terrorize the new landlord. This one is #. He has done a lot of "cleaning up" in the yard so far. I think I could like this!
107 heat index here in the true midwest - keep cool everyone! You just know I will send it all on east!
We have a forum member named Autumn now? And she bakes? Nice!
A balmy 79 here as I write this, and more of the same to come. The lawn is getting a little brown however, and that doesn't bode well for the well. This despite the hammering folks not all that far south have gotten this summer, we're pretty dry.
Chicken barbeque on Sunday. FD is doing the chicken, but it's a benefit for a young lady with health problems.
If it weren't for a couple of hot projects underway here at work, I think I'd take Friday off and go run on the railroad.

Also gotton all the cab rides I can get my hands on.
OOH Mookie is an sweetie--be no problem there--but do have rocky as my guard. He is the spoilest of all. Most time only got a partial seat at puter as takes over well. Joe--you just cant win them all concerning our pets. They first then us.
