Hank, I think you're talking about two different shows here.
One, Happy Days had "Arnold's Drive-in, and Two, Mel's diner
was from the TV show Alice

Joe & Hank, thanks for getting the juice, lemonade and coffee
ready this morning!  Always appreciate someone putting the
coffee on, first thing in the morning!!

Sleeping was so comfy last night, that I wrapped up in my
blanket, and slept "like a newborn baby".

With it being cooler, I do feel like cooking today.  So,
breakfast will be:  biscuits, gravy, sausage, scrambled
eggs, hash browns, and for anyone who doesn't want any of
that, I've brought in doughnuts:  chocolate covered, choc-
olate cream-filled, lemon filled, vanilla, long johns,
strawberry & raspberry filled, etc.

Lunch today:  making a big ole pot of vegetable beef
soup, baking cornbread, and Dan's chocolate mousse cake
(otherwise known as "death by chocolate" cake.)

Morning All,

Think I'll skip over the doughnuts ( I'm not on much of a diet, but I do try to avoid pop, doughnuts, cookies, and all the really bad stuff like that). I do think I will have some Biscuits and gravy, though!

Meanwhile, I still getting used to living with critters again. The MinPin and the Chi aren't too bad, but the Shiba Inu puppy is certainly a challenge. Oh well...I guess it builds character.

At least tomorrow morning I'll be taking a bit of a break from him. I'm going to go hike Mt. Bierstadt (a pretty easy 14er up by Georgetown) with some friends. No worries about the pups, though. The Shiba Inu's "dad" gets to handle all the domestic dog duties.

Well, before I head out tomorrow, I must unbury myself from the pile of work that has accumulated on my desk. Hope you all have a great day!

TTFN!

Good Afternoon!

I went to see 844 leave town this morning. We went a little outside of Omaha where it would be going nice and fast. I have to admit, it was probably about the coolest thing I've ever seen. It had to be going about 70 mph, lots of smoke and steam and really blowing the whistle. Absolutely outstanding!. I guess it's gone for good, or at least until next year. Sad [:(]

That's the only newsworthy info from Omaha today.

Willy - I saw the 844 run parallel to East 80 many, many years ago.  It was flat out running like it was late, too.  Very impressive.  Probably won't be around too many more years, so glad you could see it.

Sure hope everyone enjoyed their lunch today.  Guess you
did, because I've not seen or heard any comments about the
veggie/beef soup & cornbread.

Tonight, I'm "back on track", and we have fried fish (trout,
cod, perch, hallibut and catfish) w/fries, hushpuppies and
slaw.  Dessert tonight:  along with the death by chocolate
cake, there is also pecan pie and lemon bars.

Chocolate paw prints, MC?

Got a hankerin' for some chocolate cake, but I don't seem to see any.....

Carl - Did you send our weather east, or should I thank our neighbors to the north?  It's just 51 as I write this, about 10 pm...

Headed for the railroad in the morning - it'll be a nice vacation from the zoo at work, assuming they don't call me.  Think the cell phone is going in the grip....
