Joe, hope when you were in, that you made a plate to take with you for your
supper tonight.  Putting all the leftovers in the fridge, now.  So, if anyone comes
in wanting anything to eat, just check the fridge, and warm it up in the microwave.
And be sure you put your dirty dishes in the dishwasher.

CW,

I would have stopped in, but we had to go up to the school tonight for readi-fest to get our youngest  one's (3rd Grade) paperwork done for school. We did the oldest one's (7th Grade) yesterday afternoon. School in our town opens for studies this Thursday. The boys are going to have a heck of a time getting back on their sleep routine.

Everyone have a great Tuesday. I'll be lurking around here in the Diner to see what's going on.

For those that may be interested and live in the area of Louisville, here is something that may be of  interest to some. I was reading about this earlier on the web.

I'm hoping that CW and LM will let me know if they go and what it's like. I'm trying to find an open weekend to see it myself. I'll have to see.

We should never forget.

Evening folks!  Just got back from a 5k run with the girlfriend.  Her first physical activity since...a long time!  After the first few "I hate you!" comments she did pretty well.  I'm  used to a 10k so this was easy for me.  Tomorrow we start her on weights.  I finally got my bench press up to 375lbs and the leg press up to 900.  Not bad...

I'll grab a water and some fruit and hang around for a bit if anyone wants to chat!

Good Tuesday morning, everyone!  It's back to school today for all the rugrats here
in Jefferson Co., KY.  And they are getting rained on this morning.

I've already had 15 people come sign in for Produce Day.  Ugggggg.  Sometimes,
I wish I didn't do this, but someone has to.  I had thought that with school starting,
we wouldn't have as many people coming so early, to sign in for the Produce.  Guess
that's what I get for thinking, right?!?!Wink [;)]

Breakfast is laid out on the warmer bar:  bacon, sausage, sausage gravy, biscuits,
hash browns, and home-style fries, scrambled eggs, oatmeal (maple & brown sugar),
and toast.

I'll see you all later, when I get through with Produce.  Everyone have a great day.

Hey Mook, I believe they just spotted a tank car full of coffee next to the DD&CS. I'm filling your oversize cup right now. Should be ready in a couple minutes.

Meanwhile, had some good rain again last night. It's actually been quite pleasant to be a Coloradoan lately. Today's high is going to be 86ºF, with a slight chance of afternoon storms. Little better chance tomorrow as a cold front starts slipping in.

I think that's a good thing, too, as this is the time of year when I really start getting anxious for fall, my favorite season. When the temps get up into the upper 90's or worse, it only makes it that much worse. I can deal with this.

At any rate, I've got a big pile of work to take care of. Hope you all have a great day!

Good Morning!

The braces come off at 1:15 this afternoon, so wish me luck with that. Even after the braces are off I'll have to wear a retainer for who knows how long, so I'm not even close to being totally done with the orthodontist.

Nice day today with highs forecast to be in the lower or mid 80s, full sun and low humidity. School starts next Monday so this is the last week of freedom. Sad [:(] Nothing else new from Omaha.

Have a good day, everyone.

When CW went to the Library the other day,she came home with one of their monthly
newsletters which had a lot of info. about the display. We are looking forward to seeing
it;and will definitely let everyone know about it.
Saw that it's to be in several other cities, so for this bunch, looks like Carl and other Chicago
area residents will be able to view it;and Houston Ed and people around there, also.

Willy,A VERY BIG CONGRATS in getting the braces off!!!  I never had them, but the
people that I have known over the years that have had to wear them were VERY thankful
to have them taken off.

Good afternoon, folks!  Ended up having 80 people come for Produce today.

Here's the list of what I got:  2 bags of Red Delicious Apples, sweet green
peppers, large bag of shredded lettuce, 3 small bottles of chocolate milk,
and a 5 lb. bag of potatoes.

Lunch menu today:  pork chop abracadbra w/onions, baked taters w/butter and/
or sour cream, fried apples, peas & carrots or broccoliw/cheese sauce.

Desserts today:  chocolate cake, yellow cake, peach pie or peach cobbler, and
apple pie.

Now, all I have to do is figure out something for supper.  Any suggestions from
anyone?

*casually walks in and sits down*

yeah, I'll have a large Pepsi please. I need more time to look at the menu, thank you.

Nice to meet you all, it's my first bold attempt to walk in here, and say hello to fellow railbuffs. Hopefully I can stick around here long enough to learn something. So um, yeah.

Ooohh, Biscuits and gravy, I'll have that, with spicy sausage added.

Sign - Welcome [#welcome]  Welcome Nightrain!  Others will reiterate this but two rules here in the DD&CS.  First don't aggravate the cook, second don't miff the cat.  Other than that have fun!  There's usually someone nosing around in the kitchen, hanging out in the hammock, or sitting in the easy chair doing sudoku or a crossword puzzle.  Make yourself at home!

Thanks for the welcome. I think I will remember not to disturb the cook, since my husband has the same frame of mind when he's in the kitchen. Miff the cat? It must have a temperment or something, but I'll steer clear of it as well..(darn and I like cats too!)

I see you have a nice collection of Model railroads, and garden railroads, but wheres the live freights? *VROOM* Never mind, there goes one now.

I think I'll like this place. Thanks for the food too, that B&G dish was excellent! I'll take a Pepsi to go, since I have to leave soonSad [:(] Pity too. I'll stop in when the nightshift is in though, maybe bear a hand if it's needed

Take care

Nighttrain - one of my favorite songs from waaaaaaaay back when.

Not to worry - I don't miff easily.  Takes too much energy.

But every so often, an ankle or a chicken goes by that just really needs my attention!

Come back and visit - we need more visitors!

The cat didn't have to cross the road!  She threw a stick and the dog crossed it for her.

Actually, the diner is on this side, so there is nothing over there to go see.

Nighttrain, Sign - Welcome [#welcome] to the DD&CS!!  So glad to have you join us.  Please come in any time
to visit, and enjoy a "virtual" meal or two, etc. as often as you can.

Okay, we have TWO Blue Plate Specials for supper tonight:

1.  Beef tacos w/chips, con quaso or salsa, and Spanish rice, along with shredded lettuce,
     diced onions and tomatoes
2.  Meet loaf, mashed taters, gravy, and whatever veggies you prefer

Everything's laid out on the warmer bar, so help yourselves.
