we got some sprinkles last night at work more to come.more juice coffee and lemonade are ready for today.gotta change the battery in the forklift for mookies coffee mug.we are also on standby for my niece.she is in the hospital as we speak for the birth of their 2nd child.so they might need uncle joe and matt to come and keep big sister lucy occupied.carl I hope nora sends me some pics that she took that would be great.

Rain forecast all weekend here - could be a good weekend for the railroad, as people look for stuff to do "sort of" outside. 

I hope I look as good at 92 as the guy I transferred from one hospital to another last night.  He'd had a heart attack, however, and pretty well figures his time is up. 

Looks to be a slow day here at work.  But probably not, now that I've mentioned it....

Morning...our high for the day is supposed to be a comfortable 77 with party cloudy skies. Too bad I'll be at work from 9-9 today!  I have the weekend off, though so I'll take it.  I just got back from running 4 more miles so I'll have some fruit and skim milk.  Catch ya later!

Another 1.25 inches of rain here in Omaha last night. This is the last rain they're forecasting for the next week, though. I wish it would keep doing this like it has the past 3 weeks because then I would never have to haul the sprinkler and hose around the yard again.

This weekend will be a BIG one for railfans here in northern California--Union Pacific will unveil its final SD70ACe Heritage locomotive (designated UP 1996), which will sport a livery inspired by the old Southern Pacific liveries. It will be unveiled at Roseville Yard in Roseville, CA--about 20 minute's drive from my house tomorrow (August 19, 2006).

Well, I've got fish frying for our Friday Fish Fry.  Also got a deep fryer with
fries in it, and another one with hushpuppies.  Have fresh cole slaw made, and
in the cooler, along with a chocolate pie, and a lemon pie in the dessert cooler. 

First batch of fish, hushpuppies and fries are just about ready, so get your
plates ready.

mookie dont look now but you got tatar sauce on your cheek.was woken up by a telemarketer so i called to check on my niece. Matt has a new cousin to play with.21 inches long and 8lbs and 12 oz.He was born at 3am.everyone is fine just tired. we will go see him tommorrow.

Last Friday that I can leave early.  School starts Monday.  Driver just called - he and Millie are going to do a drive-by pick up, so see you all on Monday.  Perfect weather for my favorite sport ....Train Watching!

Hi Nightrain, Yes it is the Olympic engine. I caught it in Oakland in 86'. Here is a bigger version. Zak has a nice looking HO version too.

Nightrain, don't feel like the lone stranger, when it comes to cabbage.  Cole slaw is the only way
I'll eat cabbage, except in homemade vegetable soup.

Wow, pretty dead in here for a Friday night, finally wound down enough to slide on in for some late-night food.  Worked untill 8:45 tonight on overtime, then unwound for a bit.

Has rained a little the last two days, but we've only had a dissapointing 17 hundreths total, really could use more, the crops need it.

Joe, congrats on the new little one, have Matt teach him well.

Will be relaxing over in one of the recliners, with some classic rock and blues playing softly on the Jukebox.  Ahhhhh, that's relaxed.........

Good morning!

It's kind of a dreay Saturday morning here in Omaha, but the rain is finally over.

That's how the day started here,then it got dark,started lightning & thundering and pouring down
rain about 20 minutes after finishing cutting the grass. Just another one of our usual summertime
t-storms that puts out about 1-1.5" of rain in a short amount of time,and leaves the prerequisite
number of scattered power outages, limbs down,etc.  Hopefully,that will be all we do get today;
as we had planned to do some train watching ourselves!


Brian (Ky) Will pass that info along to CW for you.

.....Oh so you have had a little weather down there Walt....Nothing up here yet all though it is around in some areas of Indiana...Just back and forth clouds and sunshine and  90 degrees here so far today.

Looks like the next 4 or 5 days should be pretty nice too...but we are pretty dry and could use some rain.  Maybe one of the scattereds will visit later this afternoon.
