The beef was great!

I'd stay around for the cobbler, but I've got a train to catch.

Hang on, Sarah--less than 30 hours before I arrive! AMG

Joe, thank you for getting the juice and coffee ready. Sunday brunch will
be cantaloupe, watermelon cubes for ladies. Plenty of donuts for all you
men out there.

Sunday's Mother's Day special will be roast beef, potatoes, carrots and onions
and dessert will be the cobbler of your choice: apple, blueberry, cherry or
peach with vanilla ice cream. That will be ready around 4:30, 5:00 on.

CW, Now that you have a year in at the dinner I guess that makes you elegible for some vacation time to go watch some trains [;)].

I wish everyone a great weekend.

Why would I want time off to go watch trains? I see quite a few each and
every day. That's the nice thing about the diner: My work table here in
the kitchen is right at the window, and I can see all the trains perfectly!

Oh, sorry I didn't know you had a room with a view. [bow]

Chad,

Have you ever thought about buying one of those tents you set up in the bed of your truck? They make them now for any size pickup bed. Have thought about getting one for my truck now for some time.

Randy

I don't think it will work. Right now I'm driving a company truck that has bins on it with no even surface. Thanks for the thought though. I may pick one up for my truck when I start using it again. As it turned out I could not stay the night anyway. Oh well.

hey, better than the looks i get for blasting my heavy metal... and as for breakfast, i don't usually bother, since i'm only up before noon when i have to be. But i could go for a nice egg and cheese sandwich on a roll with plenty of ketchup, salt and pepper...

Carl really lol!!! I agree w/ you on this one. :) I wouldn't want to watch any derby when I have a mainline or two to look at. lol. Well the hours are dwindeling as the clock ticks. I can't wait to see you at 30th Street Station!!

Lets see I missed breakfast today :( I didn't want to miss it. :( however, I will be here tomorrow for breakfast and din din. I don't have a softball game to go to tomorrow so I can pay more attention to trains! Today nothing really happened to me. Oh yes something did. I decided that when I was going to go to the gym today that I would bring my Dvorak cd preformed by the Philadelphia Orchestra, conducted by Wolfgang. Anyway I played it down in the wieght room, Dvorak's symphony number 8. I did this to see what people would say. Sure enough five guys walked in and said "What the hell is this crap doing on" I fell laughing!! The funny part was that they thought it belonged to the older guy in the weight room.

Having lived in Lexington, KY back in the 80's and later working as a mutuel clerk for a couple Derbys, I have been at Churchill many times. I did not realize that that they had put bigs bucks into the place until I saw the TV coverage. Dramatic change to the appearance of the Grandstand, but the sky boxes are awsome. The rent on the larger size is a quarter mill a year. Not likely that the "lady" on the bike was going to one of the boxes.

If I rent one for next year, I'll have y'all over for derby week. Don't know for sure what size, that will depend on the size of the payout for the winning lottery ticket I'm buying next week.

Yeah, with Giacomo winning the KY. Derby, almost makes me wish I
had entered a pool. One year when I worked for a bank, I won three
Derby jackpot pools. Saw an interesting)?) sight earlier. Was out
in the front yard, and the Derby motorcyclists were going up the
street. On one of them, the "lady" on the back, had on only thong
panties on her behind. She was on the "chunky" side, and it was
NOT a pretty sight[:0]

Supper tonight is on the buffet bar. Have cold cuts and fixings.
Thought we could eat out on the patio and watch the trains.

Going to have a special meal tomorrow in honor of Mothers Day.

Jay,
That is a good one.We will do what we can to get admission
to the Downs. We have permission to be outside, but they want extra
'bucks' to go inside. And sorry,we don't have box seating.
Your warning about the 'infield' is great;even some of the older,
semi- traveled adults can be shocked by the goings on there.[:0]
Would also like to thank Larry, for his time spent at the grill today.[C=:-)]
(he temporarily relocated to help us out.)
Tom,get to feeling better soon, you should be here in the crowd
with the rest of us.

That is a good one, Jay. Maybe I'll have to give Jim a call today, and
see if he wants to open up a second Depot Diner & Coffee Shop
here in Louisville.

There might be a few in the diner that we probably should
charge admission to enter, but right now everyone DOES get
free admission. There's some that I'd like to cover their mouths
and hands with duct tape, and put an IV in them and just feed
them that way. I know there are probably a couple of EMT/Para-
medics who could handle that for us.

The ACTUAL breakfast today is a brunch from the buffet
table along with donuts.
