BC! Not in the diner!!!

Well, it's hot already - just past 6 am. 93 for the high today. At least I can suffer with a lot of company!

Got some cantaloupe, grapes and strawberries for breakfast fruit. And some liquid chocolate, just in case you want to dip a little!

(gotta go clean the chocolate off my mouf - tried dipping w/o fruit......it's ok - I don't have germs!)

I hereby pledge that on this, my day off, when it's supposed to reach the 90s, that I will do nothing that requires me to wear long pants!

glass to drink!! Also have some unsweetened iced tea and sweetened iced
tea.

Been grinding the old paint off the Sailfish in preparation to some patching. Gotta hit the showers and lose some of this dust!

WOOOOOOOOOO WEEEEE was it hott here in Philadelphia and surrounding areas!!!!!! A cool no I should say a hot 90 degrees F! I was hot, I wished I could of got into the pool today but, that wasn't going to happen I had to go to school. boooo. I think we're suposed to get some rain later on tonight, I hope we get it late in the night because, I plan on pulling one of Carl's numbers and ride the bike to the Chestnut Hill West station a little later.

Carl I'm glad I wasn't going to get that lingering storm that was moving East of Glen Ellyn!! Poor Michigan got hit really hard there I guess, that sux.

CW I think I'm going to break down and relax on the patio tonight with some good old wholesome tuna sandwiches, some potato salad, and some I guess I'll have to look in the frezzer and find out what drink I want.

Since no one's come in for lunch, the lunch menu will work also for
supper tonight. Plus, there will be garden salad and chef salad.

Lunch is being served on the patio: tuna salad sandwiches, potato chips,
potato salad, etc.: all things on the cool side. With it being
close to 90 degrees in most places, we don't really need hot food!

Not too sure about the hazy part, but our weather here is definitely hot
and humid! Unfortunately, we don't have any air conditiong, be it central
or window. Our cooling system is fans. Need to crawl upstairs and get
the window fan for the living room. Have one in the kitchen window ex-
hausting air out. When I get the one from upstairs and put in the living
room, it'll be on the same setting.

Morning all, Glad to hear you're better Mook. Keep those tornadoes out there in the flatlands. We had our shot on Sat. night. All is well and yes we've got the 3 h's. Installed the window air yesterday. It was too much with Mama's hot flashes. Willy

Interesting weather yesterday and last night. I was telling Sarah about the thunderheads to our south (our own weather was nearly perfect!), and she was afraid those would be going toward Philadelphia. Turns out that that storm system moved north and hit Michigan pretty hard.

We're going to have warm weather today and tomorrow, with no rain forecast for either day. Hope the A/C's working well at work this afternoon.

Thanks Joe, for getting the coffee going, and putting out the juice and
fruit.

To go along with it, we'll have sausage and biscuits and gravy.

Got to get back outside this morning, and do a little bit more work
in the yard before it gets too warm out there.

Yeah, it sure was hot today, just like Mutt said. And we were out in the front
yard taking care of more yard work!!

Carl, I didn't put any pineapple rings in the baked beans. All right, who
sneaked in the kitchen when my back was turned elsewhere?!?!

A special thank you to Mutt and Larry for doing the barbequeing today.
Both of you did an excellent job!!

That said - it's picnic weather. I'll do some chicken, but I"m gonna have my beef steak "medium well."

Larry,
You cook the chicken, and I will do the steak;Medium anything you want, with my
special sauce.
Glad to see you moving out of the deepfreeze, and warming up some.

And for Sarah,we've had the threat of rain all day,but thus far it hasn't done
anything, except be hot(almost 90) with the humidity about that high also.

Afternoon All, Well we survived the night. Lot of thunder and wind but not really any rain that we desperately need. About 30 miles north they got 2". Kids spent most of night in bed with Mama and me. They weren't buying "the angels bowling" routine. Always worked for me as a kid.
CW, barbequed chicken and strawberry cheesecake! [bow] [dinner] Is this heaven?
"no, it's the Diner" Any word from Mookie?
Well Dr said to start putting pressure on knee, so I thought a trip upstairs would 'Help"
Left the windows open with all the hot weather, and forgot to get #2 stepson to close windows before storm last night. [banghead] Seems we had a HO scale "tornado" blow thru. Lot of trees down, "flattened" ADM grain facility and other structures, and tipped over a BNSF coal consist. Well, I've managed to get up there once so I know where I'll be spending the second week of rehab.
Sarah, storms in eastern ILLinois, so you'll get them eventually. Batten down the hatches.
Well, CW take care of that "bearable ache". I've had them only they were pains and they were alittle lower than my back. I think the official name is "EXUS WIFEUS" [(-D]

I hope the DD&CS is catering the little affair we have to attend this evening. I'd consider biking to it (about nine miles each way), but there's still a threat of rain, and temps are close to 90 (which means that the rain would feel good if it weren't so darn wet!).

Carl if you please like Mutt said a couple of posts earlier keep that weather out were you are or take it up North. lol I noticed everytime Chicago gets something, Philadelphia always gets it. The only thing I want from your current weather is the 90 degree temps then I can go to the beach and I could go swimming at my friend's pool. lol

Since it's so warm today, our supper tonight will be:

your choice of beef or pork steaks prepared on the grill (by Mutt), and
baked potatoes. Inside the diner, I will fix baked beans, and potato
salad and we will have garden salad also.

And Larry, do you think you could barbeque some chicken?

Desserts will be: strawberry cheesecake, banana pudding, and rice
pudding.

Willy, didn't get the vicadin, but the back has eased up. Not totally
without pain, but it is a bearable ache now.

Didn't know if anyoneaws awake or not at this hour. Getting pounded her in NW IL. Tornadoes, hail all the good stuff. Got 4 of the grandkids over for the night, so I thought I'd get up and keep an eye on things for a while. Jen, how are you holding up? Hang in there. CW how's the back? Did vicadin help? Those biscuits are hitting the spot for a late night snack, although I prefer mine with honey.
Well it sounds like round 3 is moving in, so better batten down the hatches and unplug computer and big screen and wait for a bed full of youngins. Willy

Larry, I think Jim was referring to my brunch menu, where I said anyone
could have biscuits and jelly for "dessert" with the brunch this morning.

I've been known at breakfast time, after I finish breakfast, to get a biscuit
or two, split them open, and put jelly in them. mmm, goooooood!

Who said anything about jelly? I was talking about the ultimate strawberry shortcake!!! Those little cakes you buy at the store will never suffice again once you've used fresh biscuits![:D]

Haven't made sausage gravy, but those biscuits are good for chicken & biscuits, too. Since you're making them yourself, you can make them about as big around as you want! Once again, best served fresh from the oven!

I have, though, been known to put some jelly on a leftover biscuit for a snack.
