Oh I'm happy to be eating those BLTs. I think I'll have a second. I haven't had one in about a year! Thankx CW

Carl I don't know why you were worried about hitting 1000 miles on the 14th,?? As much as you ride the bike across town, it gets more mileage than the Stratus!! lol And, yes you still an AMG!

At the rate it's going over here in Philadelphia with the constant humidity I'll be real happy to see Arlene come though. That will also give me a reason to watch the rushing waters of the Wissihickon.

Lets see yesterday I went to Abrams Yard which is right outside of Norristown and Conshohocken. I saw a Southern Pacific untouched AC44CW number 164 on the point of a NS coal drag which was out of Enola. That was awsome!!! I almost hated to depart. Other than that I didn't have anything happen to me today. Except I got swamped with unnessacary papers to write for my English Comp class. What nonsence!!

Afternoon all! Spent the weekend moving MAMA ( note spelling as opposed to Mama) into a retirement village. She's 86, still drives all over the country to doll shows and runs her Doll store five days a week. She's 90 miles away and won't move down here with us, so this is second best. They can stop in and check on her , help her with meds, but she's still got a yard for flowers and her "own" place. Thought two weeks out of knee surgery was enough, so I let the testosterone take over and put my big red "S" back on my chest. Man, I'm paying for it today. Knee's all swelled up and can hardley walk.
Decided to take two more weeks off from work. They'll pay insurance and 80% of paycheck to stay home and work on layout. [:D]
CW- Must of survived the tornados. At my age only 3 things turn my head. Trains, a hot 21 year old female in a thong bikini, and a hot roast beef sandwich[bow] Bring it on!!!!
Carl-I don't think I could ride 1000 feet on a bike. At least not with these knees. My hats off to you.
Larry- Thanks for the awning. 3 H's here again. Calling for storms. I don't know what they're calling them, but it's not working! Looks like August here too! My water bill is going to be astronomical but we do love the plants. Hard to believe we were complaining about frost 5 weeks ago.
Mook- Don't get too cranky. Mama gets that way when we forget to get her menopause happy pill prescription. I've learned to make that a TOP PRIORITY!!!! [banghead] [:D]
Well, everyone stay cool. Might stop in for asnack after supper. Willy

Think supper is going to be on the light side tonight. I'm not feeling too
well right now; stomach seems to be very upset. Guess the heat and
humidity is getting to me early this year.

Supper will be: bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwiches, with potato
chips. Dessert will be ice cream sandwiches.

And it will be served out on the patio under Larry's awning he put
up for us all.

Well, in my particular instance, I hope the awning can double as an unbrella! We have a line of storms headed our way, and biking to work is out! Good thing I got my 1000th (and 1001st) mile in yesterday. I made it 1002 with an errand this morning.

Good Mawning, everyone!

(Much appreciated, Larry!)

Still warm here--anything in the way of light lunches? Egg salad sandwich? Frozen fruit bar for dessert?

It'll work both ways, so if anyone is feeling "cranky," they can take it out on the awning...

Larry, thanks for putting up the retractable awning. Does help keep the
sun out. May be the imagination working, but it seems a tad bit cooler
in here.

Today's lunch specials are beef liver and onions, tuna melt on whole
wheat toast or whatever toasted bread you want, and open face roast
beef sandwiches with gravy and mashed potatoes.

Give me a couple of hours, and I'll think of something really good for
the supper specials. Anyone have any ideas for me?!

Rain here this AM. Not much, but it all helps - we look like late August around here... We really don't need any severe stuff (well, I'd enjoy it, but I'm thinking about the general populace), but Arlene will be welcome if she has any rain left to drop on us.

I'm installing a retractable awning over the deck here at the Diner this morning - As hot as it's been, we need to be outside, even if it does rain!

Mookie, hope your search is successful!! Do you need any help in the
location process? I'll gladly help.

Breakfast this morning will be all the regular breakfast menu: turkey bacon,
sausage, biscuits & gravy, oatmeal, toast, etc.

Since it's a tad bit cooler this morning, I really don't mind being in the kitchen,
cooking.

I was told to expect Arlene up this way later today (Monday), so I may have to use the car for work.

But, Sarah, I made it, with more than a mile (so far) and an entire day to spare. Guess I'm still a pretty AMG, huh?

Thanks CW for the o so wonderful beef roast, with potatoes, carrots and onions, and green beans :) I loved it!! yum yum. I had some good old fashioned H2O with lunch to quench my thirst. I'm a little envious of you CW, you got some rain!! We didn't. Philly is suposed to get some tonight and next weekend. That ought to be good. I can't wait for that one!

Carl I think you will hit over 1000 miles, before the 14th at the rate your going!

I didn't go to my softball game today it was too hot !! I didn't want to play. Instead I went to get some pond supplys including, filters, fish, gravel, and some fish food. I cleaned up the pond a bit and watered the flowers, then watched the fish swim. I've also desided that I'm going to go out train watching today in West Conshohocken, and Phonixvill (spelling). I hope I see something worth while. hehehehe

I would sincerely doubt that mudchicken is waiting for me to beat him.
He's probably very, very busy, and hasn't been on the forums any; other-
wise, he would have responded by now, marking his 2,000th post.

I didn't know Mr Mudchicken was such a gentleman. It looks like he is going to wait about 23 days so that Cherokee Woman can hit 2,000 first.

Good morning everyone. Nice Sunday morning here, with RAIN!!

Breakfast this morning will be: pancakes with your choice of the following
toppings: syrup, fresh strawberries, or blueberries. Will also have your
choice of turkey bacon or sausage to go with the pancakes.

Sunday lunch today will be: beef roast, with potatoes, carrots and onions,
cole slaw, green beans, corn.

Dessert will be your choice of the following cobblers: apple, peach, strawberry,
cherry, blueberry. And, of course, the ice cream to put on top of the cobbler.

(quart wide mouth mason jar)only had about a .01" in the bottom of it.
In other words,no cool down, still very sticky out. Just enough dampness
to screw up doing anything in the yard.
