Thanks to Joe for making the juice. Saturday brunch will be: sausage,
biscuits & gravy, pancakes w/syrup. There's also cantalope and fresh
strawberries.

Just dropped in to help with leftovers.

As for today's rain, a storm apparently came up from the south and soaked Cook County. Kicked up a big cloud of dust before the rain came and settled it all down. I had some good views of lightning, and we had a nice double rainbow, too.

Here's the kicker. The reason for the rainbow is that the sky was virtually clear to the west of us. Lombard is six miles away from Proviso by rail, and my wife says that we didn't get a drop here at home!

Sarah, I'm well on my way to making 1000 miles by the 14th--two round trips to work and a few local errands should be enough.

Hot? I guess it's hot! 90+ yesterday whilst I traipsed around the NYS Fairgrounds at the NYS Fire Chief's Expo. Today wasn't much better. In fact, it rained around Noon, but then the sun came out and the humidity went to about 140%...

Scattered thunderstorms yesterday, today, and tomorrow. I guess some areas got some heavy weather, but we just got (not enough) rain.

Dinner for me tonight was world famous "Dinosaur Barbeque." Not bad, and the price was right (free).

One more day at the show (this time with the daughter's Dalmatian tagging along) and a little money left to spend (gotta set an allowance for this type of thing or bad things happen to the budget).

I'll grab a snack from the cooler. Almost time for bed!

Thanks CW for the o so wondeful Veggies, and turkey w/ gravy. That was yummy. So, whats for din din??? Can you tell I'm hungry today. Speaking of hungry I spent $96 bucks today at Whole Foods market. That got me depressed. I wasn't amining to spend that much at the market. However, Whole Foods tends to be expensive, but they have good food. I haven't been there in about 3 weeks which is abnormal for me! I tend to go to the market 1 time sometimes 2 a week.

It was another hott one here in the greater Philadelphia area. It went up to 90 degrees here and then decided to rain off and on. This happened right after I washed my truck. Darn it!!

It would be nice if the rain came and went before departure time this afternoon! It was already 80 here by the time I got up (it's pretty cool here by the basement computer, though).

Lunch is something I can do in the microwave, creating less heat in the
kitchen: roasted turkey slices in gravy. Veggies with it will be brocolli,
brussels sprouts, lima beans or white shoepeg corn. Dessert will be
ice cream or sherbet.

I think parts of Alberta still are trying to be a Canadian version of Venice; but they don't have any gondolas other than that on rails.

Hear on the news that Tropical Storm Arlene is a brewing! Also hear
that we in KY might get effects from it on Sunday.

Have doughnuts for breakfast this morning.

There is a big Air-Show in Janesville this weekend. The Blue Angels practiced all day today. They were buzzing the whole town - flying just a few 100 feet above us at times!

I need so tea to settle my nerves!!!

Yes Carl getting up to 1000 miles on the bike is something you have to do before June 14. I think you know why AMG.

CW I think I'm going to take some of that Italian spaghetti, garlic Texas toast, and
key lime margarita pie. I couuld use some tonight! I for a second thought it was going to be spiked, lol! But then again I'm not old enough to drink, I can operate heavy equipment, and own an assult rifle but can't drink, Whats Up Wit Dat??/

It was another hott one here in Philly today!! 95 degress!! What is going on here?? Is this th sign of another drout??? I hope not then my poor Wissihickon Creek will need more attention.

lets see what happened to me today. Oh I had a friend of mine who's an engineer for Septa come by the tracks behind my school (were I was standing) and blow the horn at me today. I got asked a lot of questions about that one when I got back in the building. People are so nosey!!! I also worked on my stero system in my truck today. I almost burned out my amplifiers and I created an arc on my 24 V DC Capacitor today. I also burned out a 20 amp small fuse and a 30 amp big fuse. That's going to cost me :( I did get my head unit to turn on, though and I got my subwolfers to work. I bypassed the conenction of the hot wire (from the battery) directly to the fuses. I then bypassed the other positives and negitives that were on the capacitor to my amps. However, there is a huge short to ground somewere in the system that I have to figure out, how that happened. That's what blew out my 30 amp fuse. Then I have to re connect the capacitor and what not. My truck is a wireing nightmare because, I have wiring for the off road lights, fog lights, neon lights, CB radio, and stero system.

Supper menu will be ready in ten minutes: So everyone get your tummies
ready to eat. Have more soft drinks, iced tea, lemonade and Kool-Aid
made up. Oh, how nice it would be to have a nice, slow, steady rain for
about ten-twelve hours to cool the temps and humidity, if only for a little
while.

Carl, did you get any of the storms yesterday? Looked like some were headed east out of Rochelle towards you.
Well, grandkids all left this AM. Love em to death but 4 of them for five days is enough. When they left, Harley ( the wonder mutt) just sat there watching them go out the door. Willy,
We didn't get anything downtown, but the eastend and Oldham Co. did.
Had some semi-high winds,a few trees down, several lightning strikes
on some buildings, power outages, and a very little bit of rain.[:(]

If you get a chance, check out photo link on SDR_North's post on the "dead cow on tracks". It's near the end. The photo is hilarious. I know you bunny huggers are going to jump all over me for that, but you can't help but smile and wonder what his last thought was.

Lunch is ready. Joe, I did add some tomatoes and more peppers
on the Kabobs. Dessert will be your choice of orange sherbet or ice cream.

Supper tonight will be Italian spaghetti, garlic Texas toast, and dessert
will be key lime margarita pie (no liquor in it, so safe for little ones).

We've got one of those rubber-stamp forecasts: Humid, upper 80s, slight chance of rain--every day from now at least through Monday (sounds like they're leaving themselves an "out").

I hope to be able to bike to and from work every day this week. If I can do that, I'll have 1000 miles for the year on the bike by June 14 (keeping an AMG promise [;)]).

Cher, I think those burger bites sound like a better use of pineapple than the baked beans! [}:)]
