Well Mookie, I think it will be a treat: Chicken strips on skewers, fixed on
the grill, and then you put the chicken skewers over a plate of white rice.
It's really good, I think. Hope the rest of you think so, also.

Andrew, send us some of that SNOW in the form of nice, cool rain!!

Are you out of your mind!

After many, many, many years - I am pet-free! Have had shelter pets, pets people gave me, foundlings at the door and now I keep the door locked and make the driver get the mail and the paper, so anything loose out there won't find me!

I miss Mookie, but don't miss the cleaning, feeding, cleaning, medicating, pushing, pulling, cleaning, kitty litter on socks, did I mention cleaning?

I put out wild bird water and I am thinking of putting out a water dispenser and cups - let them get their own.

I will leave the pet owning to all the rest of the world now. I will just enjoy the pictures of everyone's pet!

Good morning, everyone. Coffee is ready, and I have the juice ready.

Breakfast this morning will be: turkey bacon, sausages, biscuits and
gravy, oatmeal & toast, scrambled or fried eggs. Looks like some
people around the country had some rain last night. Right in our local
area, we got nary a drop.[:(] Our changes of getting some are about
8, 9 hours away according to the weather report this morning.

Heard from Nance69 yesterday evening. She and Bob are back home
in Arizona now.

Will let you all know later what surprise I have in store for lunch today
in a couple of hours. It will be a treat, I assure you.

Everyone have a good day today, and try to stay as cool as
possible.

Carl,
We can share the salad fixin's;not so much I have to worry
about anything, but when it gets this hot and humid like it is,
I have a tendency to eat lighter than usual.

Mudchicken, you can have the heat if you wish, but if we
get any precipitation,I hope it comes soon. We are all pretty
much used to the 3 Hs in this area;but from 79 degrees low
humidity one day,to 91 degrees and a heat index the next day,
It's a little hard to get the body acclimated.

Carl, I think you can have some tomatoes and lettuce for supper, if that's
what you want.

I have a couple of new things on tonight's supper menu;

1. Burger bites: little meatballs on scewers alternated with pineapple
chunks and chunks of sweet red pepper.

2. New potato summer salad: It's small sized new red potatoes with
red onions, cherry tomato halves, bacon bits tossed in a combination
of Italian dressing, Miracle Whip Salad dressing and Grey Poupon
Dijon mustard, topped with bacon bits.

And yes, Joe, there's plenty of cheesecake left. (both black forrest &
strawberry ). Might make another later on with cherries, when I get
some fresh picked cherries.

"Death by Chocolate" is also the name of a dessert offered at Bennigan's; we let the baby order one after her graduation (she shared it with her mom and fiance, but not with me--I had something else).

We're trying to coax a little of that water out of the sky right now--it would help with the four-inch-or-so deficiency we now have for the year, and break these temperatures, at least temporarily.

P.S. Another day off; shorts and short sleeves are being worn around here. The bike is in the garage for the day so far, though--don't want to be too far from home when those dark clouds let loose!

Maybe I won't bother fixing anything else for lunch: just serve everybody some
black forrest cheesecake!! But before you eat the cheesecake, how about
eating your choice of the following sandwiches: tuna, ham, bologna, liver loaf,
roast beef, turkey, salami. All served with sliced tomatoes, pickle slices, and
lettuce.

Randy, have you ever had the Kroger brand "Death by Chocolate" ice
cream? It's gooooood!

Mornin' all, thought I'd drop in before it got too hot and/or the storms hit. Getting to be warm enough that the clutch fan on the truck kicks in when taking off from a stoplight (now my truck sounds like the big rigs). TWC is predicting mid-80s in southern WI for the next week, nice to have summer here (and it makes the corn grow!!).

CW, if that cheesecake is as rich as my parents Death by Chocolate or chocolate torte, I just gained ten pounds reading the post. I'll have a piece anyway!!

This weathers also about right for just sitting on the porch/deck/patio with friends, a guitar or bass or banjo or all three pickin' away, and if there was alcohol allowed, a jug of moonshine. Seeing as there's no alkyhol allowed here, though, I think a couple big pitchers of iced tea (sweetened and unsweetened) would work just fine.

Yep.

Morning All! Just a quick pop in before grandkids wake up. Kids get back from their Vegas trip today. Thank God!!!! In serious need of peace and quiet and Willy and Mama time. [:D]
Mookie-Glad to see you're better. It takes time. I see you're a fellow cheesecake coni...connisu... conesu....(screw it) lover. If it has chocolate and cheesecake inthe title then i'm all over it.
CW-Black Forrest Cheesecake? Sounds like 1500 calories a spoonfull. I'll take 3 large pieces. I'll sweat it out in this 3H weather.Hard to believe Mama was fretting over her hostas and the frost just a month ago. Going to look for a AC unit for train room this weekend. If I find a good one I'll throw it on back of southbound NS for you and Mutt.
(Free Shipping!!!!!) Well, grandaughters waking up so I better get going. Maybe I'll just get them dressed and bring them all down to the Diner for breakfast. Willy

Mookie, I was going to surprise you, but I'm in the process of baking a
chocolate cake right now, especially for you (and the rest of us chocoholics).

When you go on your morning break, it'll be iced, cut and ready for you to eat!

And I also have some black forrest cheesecake. Anybody ever have that?
Know Jim always talks about black forrest cake, but until yesterday, I'd
never heard of black forrest cheesecake.

CW - much, much better thank you! All the good wishes from the forum really helped get me back to my usual self.

Gave away the left over kitty litter last nite - it is going to a good home!

Tonite will give away the neighbors - but no, I won't go there.

It isn't even 4th of July yet and the nation is suffering through the heat - even heard Maine of all places, was really hot!

Now must find some chocolate cake - we haven't had that in ever so long! That makes my world so much better!

Good morning, all. Looks like it's going to be another hot one today.
But let's have a good breakfast this morning: turkey bacon, sausage,
biscuits & gravy, scrambled eggs and cantalope.

Everybody try to keep as cool as possible, and I'll let you know the
lunch and supper menus a little bit later this morning.

Mookie, how's it going this morning? You doing all right?

Sarah, my Gurl, that would be MPRCB, for Manifest, Proviso to Council Bluffs. It normally leaves the yard sometime around the time I'm trying to get in, pulling out as far as the first signal and then waiting until the scoot (and Goodness-only-knows what else) clears. I can bike where the company trucks go (compressed ballast) to get up to the locomotives, then I have to carry the bike across the tracks between the units and the red signal to get to the access road on the opposite side (if I'm especially unlucky I'll be blocked again by a Global II move at this point!). Yesterday, MPRCB's conductor actually apologized to me for putting me through that (I don't mind, as long as I'm not late).

Mookie you'll be happy to know that I participated today in the ladies "leg show" because I had shorts on!!!! It was another hott one here today in Philadelphia. I want to go in the pool!!!

Carl when you put your legs through as much stress as you normaly do, it begins to show espually when NPRCB blocks the way into Proviso. Really lol AMG.

Um. .. .nothing much happened to me today. I got to watch a home video in class today. It basicly showed on of my classmates doing burn outs with his Mustang in parking lots, streets, and on the snow. It was down right hallarious!! The one cliping showed him doing a long burn out for 1 min straight! He ended up losing all his coolant and blowing the top off of the radator, the tires had no grip on them either. That was funny. Sortly after makeing the tape the kid doing th burn outs crashed his car into a concrete divider. Hummm.......and the state of Pennsylvania gave him a license why??? lol

CW I'll take some pork chops & potatos if your able to make them:) I'll also have some good old watermelon and cantolope. That would do good in this hott weather.

Hello everyone! Finally made it home: I had to give out the numbers for
the produce this morning, then call the numbers five at a time, for the
people to come up and get their produce. Got some nice fruits and veggies
today: apples, bananas, oranges, red cabbage, celery, onions and
potatoes.

Think I'll fry up some of the potatoes for supper, to go along with the pork
chops I'm fixing for everybody. And there is more watermelon and canta-
lope also, for supper.

They're currently pale, hairy, and solid from thousands of miles of biking.

Currently 91 here--and I'm going out on the bike again now, to run a very vital errand for our baby girl (don't tell her--a birthday surprise has been taken care of!).

BC - maybe we should have a little "leg show" for the ladies in the diner?

Joe - Fostoria OH made Paul Harvey! Someone stole the safe from the Fostoria Bureau of Concern.

Not only was the 1/2 ton safe empty - they had been trying for years to get someone to get rid of it for them!

What nice people in Fostoria!
