MC - you are never safe!

Tom - I didn't know you had my mother for your mother-in-law! Sad for you, but glad we are related. And as one generous relative to another, just keep her - don't bother to send her back! My pleasure!

CW - rest, rest, rest. You are moving too fast!

Mutt - move over - short night here, too!

Mook

Thank you Mutt, for doing the breakfast buffet.

Oh, Tom...

You don't tackle Chicago without a plan of attack that takes everyone into consideration. Wish I'd been around to help out (was either working or in Michigan last weekend). We took our daughter's future in-laws into the city last fall, and had a pretty good time.

But you certainly will get another sympathetic [sigh] from me!

There now will be 60 seconds of silence in the diner for the demise of a dear old friend.

BNSF has filed abandonment papers on the former ATSF York Canyon Subdivision, all 36+ miles of it, in Northern New Mexico.... RIP 1965*-2005

(*)The lower 16 miles, French to Colfax were part of the Dawson Railway, an SP/EP&NE branch line 1896-1962 out of Tucumcari/Santa Rosa (If you haven't had a chance to read "Coal Town" by Toby Smith, do so... http://www.ghosttowns.com/states/nm/dawson.html )

Terrible Ted Turner now gets to raise more Buffalo for his restaurants. This was some of the prettiest railroad you would ever want to see. Buffalo Burgers anyone?

Trying to "Short Start" it, eh?

I remember my dad and late grandfather short starting tractors before it became dangerous. Come to think of it, I did it back then once or twice too, but I was about ten then, and didn't know any better (we did do it from the operators seat, though).

I do remember our milkman getting shocked by 220 volt wiring trying to get his transfer pump to work, had to rewire the switch and outlet after that little episode. Surprisingly, the 40 amp breaker (which was also protecting one silo unloader at the time) NEVER TRIPPED!!

Tuna melt on toast sounds good tonite, CW.

Randy

Quite honestly it wouldn't be the first time I've shorted something!!!!!!! I seriously worry about my electrical abilities. I fear that one day I will get on a SD80MAC or something and go to discharge capacitors, then get zapped. Ouch!! I don't want that to happen. lol.

CW I think I'll have a little bit of everything tonight. YES, fried chicken and mashed potatoes w/ garlic and and grilled
beef steak strips, sounds really good. I could use it too.

Sorry about just getting back in the diner. Hope you all have had plenty
to eat today. We had to go see the lawyer on Mutt's SSI for help on some
more forms he had to fill out. Lawyer helped fill them out, and we got home
right around 4.

Supper tonight will be: fried chicken and mashed potatoes and and grilled
beef steak strips and mashed potatoes w/garlic.

Willy, do you have any vicadin to share? I fell in the back yard yesterday,
and my knees and back are ONE BIG ACHE! Think my knees just gave
out on me, cause there wasn't anything in my path to trip me.

Joe, here's three dinners to go for you, Momma & Matt.

Good Morning/Afternoon all ! (By the time I get done writing this it'll be afternoon)
Well, the knee is as good as new I guess. He removed the floaties, did some grinding but didn't have to drill into bone. Came out of anesthetic (1st time) without getting sick, and it felt fine till about 9 then whatever local anesthetic wore off , and it started to swell.
[:O] [:O] [WOW] Was up till about 3 eating Vicadin with knee elevated. Finally got to sleep (if you could call it that) Did get to watch the Cubs win though.[:D] Got up around 11 got some Vicadin in me and I'm good to go. Dr won't release me till Tuesday to go back to work. Mama's trying her best to keep me in line while she's working during day. I wooonnnndddeeerrrrr what I could do to stay busy for the next week? She thinks I can't get up the stairs to the train room on crutches. Silly girl! I can crawl!!! [:D]
Anyway all is starting to fall into place in "Willyworld" and with all this free time I'll be popping in from time to time. It's a good thing the Diner has a handicapped ramp for these crutches. I hate these [censored] things! C-YA Willy

Goooood morning, everyone. Looks like it's going to be another very, very
beautiful day today with plenty of sunshine!

Coffee is on, and juice is made. So I'll get started on breakfast for today.

All the regular breakfast items, plus, we'll have a nice selection of fruit:
apples, oranges, pears, bananas, blueberries, and strawberries.

I got a nice lovely arc when I did this, the sparks caught me a bit. DC loves arc that's for sure. lol I also almost got my finger caught in the magnetic feild of the starter when I placed the armeture and communtator back in place. The Tuna melt on rye, a couple of those delicious Kosher dills from the barrel and your legendary potato salad, please Cherokee. If you have a tall Rolling Rock that's lonesome, I'd sure like to join it in a frosty glass, thanks Doll. Hope no one's dander is up over my palaver about street rails around "Ben's Hometown." I have been taking "pain medicine" following some surgery on the 27th and shouldn't be around hazaardous machinery...like a P.C. for one. Wish I could "hang" longer but that "Buffalo" found my "range" and it had nothin' to do with chicken wings. see you good folks a.s.a.p. Ted

Ted D. Kramer you were speaking my language yesterday, in mentioning Tchaikovsky, espually Dvorak, Harris, and Richard Strauss. I'm more familar with Johann Strauss because I've head some of his movements played by the London Philharmonic Orchestra. I was just listing to Wagner's Gotterdammerung (spelling) a few mins ago.
