Short day today - summers - I get off after 4 hours on Friday. Most here are off at noon - I get off at 10:30, since work day starts at 6:30 for me.

Will have some kibbles, milk and a cup of coffee - then back again on Tuesday.

Don't want to start another flame war, so will quietly wish you all a safe Memorial Weekend.

Lest we forget.

Mookie

Good morning, everyone! Hey, has anyone heard from Tina?!?! Miss
seeing her come in!!

Okay, breakfast this morning is going to kind of bad, but: we can all
burn the calories off during the day. Chocolate cake for everyone
before they start their Memorial Day weekend!! That is the breakfast
special today. Of course, if you aren't into weird things for breakfast,
I have all the regular breakfast menu items I can fix for you.

Are we running on SW E3?

If so then the storyline was rather sad . . .

BUT . . .

The graphics were cool . . .

Darn it, I had just reinstalled Trainz and it corrupted. Now I have to reinstall it plus I have to figure out where one program went to. I said C drive but it's not there. Why are computers so disobedient? Particularly the blasted software..........

Is everyone enjoying the Tex-Mex today? Does kind of look that way,
since I'm looking at the food bar, and need to add to it. Does my heart
good to see people eat the food I cook for you.

And Mookie, thanks again for the strawberry crepes for breakfast. They
were delicious!!

Hey, just dropped in for the first time. I heard about the great "chow" and sorta eaves dropped on some neat talk. Then, I heard some mention of the "Third Movement of Tchaikovsky's Pathetique" and whoa, that did it! So, if you guys don't mind, I'll grab a seat at that table next to the kitchen door and "rest my weary bones" a spell. Is it true this was a Fred Harvey House Dining Room "once upon a time?" I never could afford to eat at "Fred's" joint when it was running "full tilt." I used to gaulk through the windows of Harvey's in the K.C., Mo Union Station as a kid. The "Harvey Girl's" had put on some weight since the "Golden Years." Really, they looked more like "The Golden Girls" but who can blame 'em? All that great food, every day...I'd would've "taken the calorie count" (ten and you're out!) in a year.

If there's room for one more, would you kindly bring me that "Tex Mex" platter I heard so much about? Looks like I'm going to have some time in the "Devils Workshop" since some surgery I had today. I can't think of a better place to 'mend' than where folks love their creosote and "grease" all in one dose. Don't fret any 'cause I can take a hint real nice if anyone gets a "hot box" or a "flat wheel" over my palaver. As Roy Rogers once said, "Happy [T]rails to you and may the good Lord take a lichen to you," or something like that. Hope to talkatcha real steady, Ted

I have to say first Ted that I was the one who mentioned Tchaikovsky's Pathetique third movement. Though I am a bigger Dvorak fan. [:D] Well, welcome to the Diner!!!!!!!!

First of all, [#welcome] to the Depot Diner, Ted! Always glad to have
new customers come in.

Second, Mookie, I'll take one of your strawberry crepes, please!
And we can add some cinnamon rolls with orange flavored icing
on them for anyone who doesn't want a crepe. And thank you
very much for making them this morning. I know how much you
hate to cook!

Third, Larry: you know we always have tea here in the Diner:
regular tea and herbal teas. My favorites are the chamomile, sleepy
time, and the peppermint. Walt (Mutt) likes the sleepy time, and the
zesty lemon (think that's the name of it: out of it right now, though).
And the Earl Grey is good, also.

Ted, thanks for mentioning the Tex-Mex. We haven't had that for
awhile in here, so think we'll make it Tex-Mex for lunch and supper
today. Sounds real goooood. Mmmm, tacos, quesedias, enchi-
ladas, etc. "Heaven, I'm in Heaven."

Welcome Ted! Some of us are VERY (i.e. every darned day) visitors and others (like me) come by when we are in town, but you are always very welcomed at the Diner!

Tea - my morning wake up! Orange and spice or mint, most generally. Generally can't stand the herbal teas. Tried an herbal "orange and spice" once - could have sworn it was rasberry.....

Sunny and warm in the lower right corner again today - should be a great day for trainwatching in Folkston this afternoon. Night on the town in St Augustine last night. Nice old(est) town - but we quit early and headed back to the hotel so we could get rested up for another gruelling day of briefings...

Jay - what are you doing in here at 4 am?

We are going to try something a little different on the breakfast bar. Driver made me up some crepes - put your own innards in them. But I will make up some for the few of us that like strawberries -

Strawberries inside with whipped cream on the outside - it is so sweet my teeth hurt just thinking about it. But it is soooo good! Will drink coffee to counter the sweet!

Tom - do you like herbal tea? (Sham-o-mile as one lady told me! To go along with her Qwish!)

Yes, Tom, I do have apple pie here. How big a slice do you want? Sorry,
this is late, but I HAD to watch the two hour season finale of LOST!!
That's our favorite show to watch.

Now, I have to wait FOUR MONTHS for a new episode.[:(]
