Two lbs ground round, a can of Rotel diced tomatoes and chilies, a pod of garlic, one onion sliced thin, four tablespoons of real butter, pasta of your choice.
Pre cook the pasta, drain and rinse(or not, depends on how thick you like it)

Brown the meat, drain.

In a large lidded pot, or cast iron skillet(I use a big dutch oven/caldron) braze the onion and crushed real garlic in butter till the onions go clear, (leave the butter in there )and add the meat, Rotel(drained) along with two cups milk, one cup water, several handfulls of you favorite cheese, grated, ( I like a mexican mix), throw in some pre cooked egg noodles or tube pasta, cover and simmer, when the chese melts, stir well and serve real hot with a skillet of cornbread on the side....
Salt and pepper to taste.
For those who like a real "hot" meal, drain only about half the juice from the Rotel.
You can add other spices to you own taste.

Cheap, fast, good.

However, I did get to come home after only 7 hours 55 minutes on duty! Got paid for eight hours--that was my "bonus".

Banana pudding is something I haven't had for a long time. I think the pudding will help soften the adverse effect bananas have on me (mild allergic reaction, I suspect).

Poochie's owners are watching us like a hawk. Normally I get 15-20 minutes a day.

Can I swap out onions for pineapple on a "supreme"?

Thanks!

....Muncie at a bit before 7....Out to get the paper and find a little less than 1/2" of granulated like snow...and not very cold, 28 degrees...and no wind. Believe that's about it for this weather system. I believe south of us there was a mix of ice and sleet first.....
A cold week {upcoming}, projected for us though..

Good morning, we got four more inches of the white stuff yesterday afternoon. The snow blower has almost gone through its first tank of gas. Looks like we've got around 8 - 10 inches on the ground now... we'll keep trying to send it your way, Sarah! Hope we don't lose it before Christmas, though- my son and his girlfriend are flying up from LA, and she's never experienced playing in the snow! My son said she went up to Idaho one Christmas, but it was a year in which they didn't have any up there- hard to believe.

EDIT- first post on a new page- woo-hoo!!![:D][^][tup][wow][yeah]

Good morning, all; Joe, thank you very much for getting the juice made for this
morning, and putting the coffee and hot cocoa on.

To go along with Mama's blueberry muffins, I've also got some waffles for
breakfast this morning. (Bet you all thought I'd say pancakes again for
this morning!)

Sunday dinner and supper: fried chicken, with mashed potatoes and
milk gravy, with cornbread or biscuits.

Dessert for today: choice of apple pie or apple, blackberry cobbler w/
ice cream.

It turned from brown to white while I was at work last night. Nice, as long as the roads were taken care of. We got enough for the village to wake me up with the plow at 0300.

Sometimes I wi***he Diner could serve breakfast in bed. But then I'd miss the trains.

SNOW!!! IThe first snow fall of the year has happened here in the great state of Penn's Woods. I would say there is about an inch of snow on the ground right now. We are suposed to get some more snow tomorrow night. I'll just have to see if this snow is going to be "cheap ol' snow" or the good stuff, that sticks like crazy to anything. Oh I want to thank everyone who chiped in to send some of the white stuff to Pennsylvania.

CW what 's for din din tonight??

"Trigger" has landing gear? I thought the holes in the floor pan meant only one thing! (as in Yabba-dabba-dooo)[:D]

First stuck had the truck sliding sideways towards a steep slope, Second had truck buried up to the axles in loose mud sugar-coated with 18" of powder.

Anyone seen or heard from Kozzie the Aussie lately? (heard they had a heck of a meteor shower & light show)

Tree - isn't it just amazing how folks can exceed the GVW of a truck and not give it a second thought? Had an office employee here go four-wheeling on a mountain jeep trail with a brand new Ford F-150 1/2 ton P/U with a camper and could not understand why the frame broke! (Ford tough? [(-D][(-D][(-D])

Scary thing is, I've actually done something similar. My dad and I were on a parts run when we happened to meet our seed dealer who happpened to have our order in the back of his truck. We loaded 4000 pounds of seed into a half ton pickup, truck was literally riding on the bumpstops on the frame! That was an interesting ride home!

Then again, I've also seen what happenes when you dump the clutch on a loaded semi one too many times. (pretzels anyone??)

I also know that about 60mph is about what it takes to get a 3/4 ton diesel pickup airborne off of a certain humped crossing in southeast Wisconsin, although next time I'm installing 6-point harnesses!![}:)][}:)]

Mudchicken: Have you ever tried those Mattrax track setups for trucks?

Good morning, all!! Excuse for me being late this morning. Just woke up
about 15 minutes ago. Breakfast is running a little late this morning; so,
just help yourself to a cup of coffee, and a glass of juice while I get the
bacon, eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy going.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend, and that everyone is back with us
this morning.

Mudchicken, heard from Kozzie on Nov. 27th; haven't heard from him
since their meteor shower light display. Believe he's been very busy
at work.

Good morning- thought I'd pop in before I go back to bed and try to lessen the effects of this bronchitis spell. Don't worry, I'm wearing gloves while I type and have a plastic cover over the monitor, so I can't spread the germs to the diner patrons [;)]. I'll take two doses of Sudafed with my breakfast, please- oops, you probably don' t stock that, do you? Wait a minute- I do have some, just get me a big OJ to wash it down with. I'll check back in at lunch (cough, cough).

And a Tip Top of the Morning to You All,

It seems that Winter has indeed found Colorado with quite the plethora of conditions associated with that latter of the solstices nearing. Temps were dipping to 20 below in Gunnison, winds are expected to whip up to 80 MPH along the Front Range today, several ski resorts are reporting near record snow totals after 10 consecutive days of snow, avalanche warnings are in effect for most of the Northern and Central mountains and after a warm day at 34 today, Denver looks to pull a Fraser (the Icebox of the lower 48) and drop to 0 for overnight lows! Woo hoo!

I suppose that string of 90 degree days this summer is still fresh in my memory, since I'm actually looking forward to this. Then again, unlike Sir Mudchicken, going to work hardly involves getting my 4x4 stuck, as I walk with my "2x2" a couple hundred feet from my house to my place of employment. I'm quite glad that I don't have to head up around Winter Park unless I want to. If a 4x4 can get stuck, I really don't care to think what would happen to me in the Cruiser. It does alright as moderately powered RWD things go, but when the conditions drop to less than favorable for such vehicles, it can be a real nightmare. My 2x2 is much better suited, as I have a couple pairs of "snow tires" (X-Country Skis and Show Shoes) for them.

Oh well, hope you all have a great work week.

TTFN!

Gee, and I was just going to comment on our 5 above today...

Sarah, our snow was pretty, but I don't think it would be very useful for snowboarding, hockey, etc. Although there's a patch of ice on our neighbor's walk that's a little scary.

Good afternoon, everyone! Gee, has no one heard from The Mookster this
morning? She must be hiding somewhere, curled up asleep.

Maybe the smell of lunch will rouse her: Have leftover beef vegetable soup,
and have made a pot of bean soup w/ham. To go with the soup, we have
grilled cheese sandwiches, and PB&J sandwiches.

Getting a fresh batch of chilli going for supper tonight. And am making
sure that I fix enough grilled cheese and PB&J sandwiches to have with
the chilli tonight.

SKID....I am here!

I have been a little busy - getting to do actual work - "we" (our football team) are going to the Alamo Bowl and you would think they were selling rides on the moon! I am in charge of processing the $, so got a lot of sticky on my finners! (to count the $...silly!)

May be off tomorrow or may work, just because we are so swamped this week.

I LOVE IT! I love being busy - but still must find time to visit....

Andrew - send her a card - what can she do but tear it up and sometimes that's all it takes. It's worth the $9.95 that cards cost all of a sudden. [^]

MC - stop with the sending the snow.....we have enough. Don't want any more! And shut that fridge door - don't need to cool the whole world! Brrrr.....

OK visit over -

Back to work.

And I thought -3 this morning was cold!! It's going to be a cold week in Wisconsin, not supposed to get above 20 untill Friday or Saturday. Going to be rough going for the diesel truck at work, due to no place to plug it in (it has been proven to start at -5, but it turns over VERY SLOW!!

I'll take a bowl of chili for work as well, need something to keep me warm at work.
