CW I really do hope those Chicken and Dumplings are going to be done soon!!!!! Because, I'm really looking forward to that, I think you know why. lol

railfan619, I believe you and I are in the same boat for going back to work tomorrow. I have to go back, and I really don't feel like going, but I do feel like getting paid.

I also start kick boxing tomorrow at 7:30 EST at my gym. This should be interesting, on top of that I have to do my normal weight training after kick boxing so, you'll bet I'll be wiped. Oh I forgot the gym will most likely be packed with what I like to call the "New Years Resilution People", they only stay for the month of Jan then they leave.

I got to sleep about 12:30, up again at 4, to the airport by 5:20, home before 6, in bed by 6:05, and up again at 11:15. Finally got down here, and now it's nearly time to get ready for work. I think I'll take some leftover pizza with me for lunch.

Kids have landed back in California.

The Bug is showing that it's 40 degrees out. I should check the weather report for tonight. Might do something drastic! Nope, too late for that already. Oh, well--happy new year, everyone!

Joe, thank you for putting on the coffee, and making the juice! Also,
thank you for the delicious cinnamon rolls!!

Mutt and I actually stayed up, and I finally went to sleep about
12:30, and slept until 9:30 this morning.

Hope everyone had a very nice evening, and also everyone here on
the forums stayed sober!! I want to see everyone back here in one
piece!!

For Sunday Dinner ( which will be ready really later on this afternoon,
will be Chicken & Dumplings. Was going to have the traditional meal
of cornbeef and cabbage, and black eyed peas, but couldn't find any
corned beef at the store: they were SOLD OUT, would you
believe? That meal has never brought us much luck and money; so,
I've decided to start a new New Year's tradition with chicken & dumplings.
It should be ready around 5 p.m., CST, 6 p.m. EST.

Again, want to say HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone!!

Carl, I think Union Pacific should of kept their corperate offices over here, in the great state of Pennsylvania, that would of brought back some rail life back into all the hills and valleys over here in Penn's Woods . I was very and I mean very surprised to learn this information, out of all the times I've been over to Bethlehem, I never knew that information!

CW I think I'm going to need extra chesse on the pizza tonight!!!

Everyone HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!

Willy,
I'm sure that the "brunch" menu will include the necessary items required for
those "unfortunates" that "over-extended themselves celebrating.
(can't imagine anyone doing something like that, even at a younger age....Hmmmm)

Hope you guys have a great "gig" tonight, and yes;please;EVERYONE STAY SAFE & SOBER
If you can't stay sober,please either stay where you are,or have a sober person take you home. DO NOT DRIVE IMPAIRED !! The "Diner" provides many things,but one of them is NOT bail money for impaired persons that have been taken into custody;
when they should not have.[B)]

Who knows ? I might even get wild and have a beer tonight..........at home !![:)]

Getting all the pizzas ready for tonight's Saturday night pizza fest.

Also have a chocolate cake decorated for Ed's birthday; we'll have that,
and then at Midnight, we'll have some Welch's Sparkling White grape
juice to toast in the New Year. How's that sound to everyone?

Yeah, Joe, I heard on the news last night that the new postage rate goes
into effect l/8/2006, but I'm like you: I thought it was 1/1/2006! Think I'll
make a call to my local Post Office, and make sure about that date!!

I an certain the postage rate will go up1/8. Check twice because we have a large mailing for our business that will go before the increase.

Thank you so very much for putting the coffee on, and making the juice.

Breakfast this morning will be: a big one; just pick what you want to
eat from the following list:

country fried ham w/redeye gravy; fried taters or hash browns, turkey
bacon, sausage (patties or links), biscuits, gravy, pancakes & syrup,
oatmeal & toast, scrambled eggs.

What Sarah doesn't realize (or didn't, until I told her) is that when Drew Lewis was chairman of the UP Corporation, the corporation's (as opposed to the railroad itself) headquarters were in, of all places, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania!

Patrick, I think your crewmember either didn't know what he was talking about (i.e., didn't know the real cause for the stop), or was pulling your leg. HDC would probably be the safest place around to be in the event of a tornado. Besides, I doubt that the dispatchers would have had the opportunity to explain an evacuation if it had been forced upon them.

Leftovers? I think I'll fix up a shrimp salad to have tomorrow.

Hey, Randy, what's your bike doing (or not doing)? Maybe I can lend my expertise as Scooter the head wrench at Claremont Cycle Depot!

Thanks for the offer, but it's just the minor adjustments that come with purchasing a new bike from the likes of Wal-Mart (at least that's where my parents got the bike, I think). Nothing serious, just routine setup.

Afternoon all.....

Was working on my bike this afternoon, took it on a test ride to make sure I got everything adjusted properly (still needs a little work on the shift linkage, but was a good ride nonetheless). I won't get near Carl's mileage in a year, but it will help me get back into shape, and hopefully into smaller clothes!!

A big welcome to all the new diner patrons, don't you dare leave here hungry, there's lots of good food to be had. As the son of a dairy farmer, we always had good food, and lots of it. Once again, welcome, and have a good time.

I don't really have any resolutions for the year, just a goal. I'm setting myself the goal of getting my Class A CDL by the end of this coming year. It's been something I have wanted to do for a while, and the railroad job I had for three years had set back that dream. Now that I don't drive trains anymore, I think I'll drive trucks for a while.

CW, any chance of getting a Friday fish fry for dinner tonight? Thanks in advance.
