As the holiday draws ever so slowly to a close...

Up to 38 here today - which was nice as the wind vane on the weather station was frozen in place...

We aren't going to see 'Mutt's weather, but we still see that danged snow. Haven't really watched the forecasts lately, but I should see what the morning commute will be like.

Now for some late pizza....

Good eveing everyone how are we all doin tonight fine and dandy. I hope well today was my 1st day back to work and it was pretty easy if you ask me. This morning i sat around for 4 hours and got paid for doin nothing which was cool because it was a real crummy day here today and this afternoon I had a real easy route but yet it was still crummy it was raining all day long and tommorrow we are going to get snow which I'm really not going to like driving in but I got to because it is. MY job but anywho hope everyone has a good night and I will be talkin to you all later.

I still remember some years back, sitting in traffic- NB I-65 just south of the FairGrounds, and watching a tornado cross west to east. It took out the horse barns,skipped across I-65. On the east side,it took houses out. As the radio reporter[in a 'copter followed it east and reported, as it skipped back and forth across the alley's taking out some houses and leaving others. I remember the sight but cannot remember the reporters name or station. Too long ago.

The reporter was *** Gilbert, and the copter had the WHAS logo
on it. He gave the copter reports for both WHAS 84 radio, and channel
11 WHAS news reports.

My daddy and his sisters were coming back from a funeral in Hodgenville,
KY, and followed that funnel cloud back to Louisville.

Quentin,you are so right This one was as scary as I would like.(have been through others,but this one really raised the "shackles" this time.
And again,at this time;there are no reports of injuries,or worse;just some damage.
We hit about 72 degrees this afternoon (broke record.)-and now about 58-59 .
Supposed to get down in the 30s tonight. I'll be extremely happy when our temps. get back to seasonal,and we don't have these swings like this. I'm sure that there are alot of peple that feel the same way.

Hmmmm. Have to say I am glad we got out of town when we did-8am eastern. We picked up some of that 60 degree air mass north of Indy, but Chicago was in the 50's and it is 38 degrees here on the home front. Above freezing, so I'll take that any time.

Belated Happy New Year to everybody. We had a great time with the kids and grandkids. Got to rest up because I have much to do in the next couple of weeks as we will start to see our clients as early as January 16.

Wow...Locomut that sounds like serious stuff.....Mixing this warm weather with colder weather systems in this season can unleash some unwanted stuff.....Sounds like you lucked out this time....Our weather instrument indicated 60 degrees here at 3:30 this afternoon....Under no threat now that I know of....We were under just the northern fringe of the outer Possible weather systems today but we've experienced nothing....

We had thundershowers earlier today! Weird weather--if it were colder we'd have had several inches of snow by now (and enough wind to make it miserable). If it were any drier, I'd be on my way to work right now--on my bike!

Louisville plays Va. Tech in the Gator Bowl, game starts at 12:30. Neither
Mutt nor I will be watching. Now, IF UK was in a bowl games, we'd
probably check that one out.

The pizzas will be ready around noon EST.

Good morning everyone. Back in here after about 4 1/2 hours asleep. It
was sometime after 2 a.m., when I finally got to sleep this morning.

Joe, thanks for putting the coffee on, and making the juice.

Joe, thank Mama for the nachos for today. I'm sure all our football fans
will really appreciate that. Even though Mutt and I aren't especially football
fans, we love the nachos; as a matter of fact, the university here in Louisville,
the University of Louisville Cardinals team is playing in the Gator(?) Bowl
today, against Virginia Tech. (We aren't fans, so we won't be watching THAT
game!)

Breakfast this morning will be: your choice of BLTs, sausage, biscuits &
gravy and scrambled eggs, or oatmeal & toast.

And to go along with Stacey's nacho dip, I'll be making pizzas for today.

Time for me to head back to work. I'll be back in May at the soonest, I hope. Christmas break wasn't long enough to post all the topics I wanted to talk about. Saw an interesting book at the library The War on Powder River: The History of an Insurrection by Helena Huntington Smith. Long before trains began hauling coal out of Powder River Basin that country was filled with cowboys, ranches, cattle rustlers, surviving harsh winters and a war between the homesteaders and the stockmen. With all the interest surrounding Powder River lately I thought it would be important to remember the pioneers that struggled to open and settle that territory.

You are right on that one sarah I do like getting paid so maybe I will go in to work tommorrow and. I think I will be makin about 10 hours alone which would be a very good thing to start off the new year.
