Yes, dork, you understood her correctly...this is a food forum...and any other darn thing we want it to be.

No, dork, you dont use human food for locomotive fuel...jeeze, how stupid can he get?

If you have a problem with the content of this, or any other thread, tell your mom to quit reading it to you.

Really what is the stock symbol of that company producing the new fuel so I can invest some money in something that looks like it will be a big time hit since it will be solving our energy needs. [:o)]

Are you saying that potluck is the new fuel to propel locomotives down the tracks? Do I understan you correctly or did you forget this is a RR forum not a food forum.

Thank you, thank you many times over for the chicken soup......

Well, the sore throat ballooned into a full blown sickness during work tonight, complete with headache, body aches, fever, etc, etc. I'm just going to heat up and eat the soup, crawl into my sweats and go to bed to try to beat this thing down before Monday.

See everyone later......

Sorry to hear you are sick. [:(] Best wishes for a speedy recovery. [:)]

I am not sure about the "machine" being fired up. It seems like we are all still here. [;)] I am sure, actually I know, that are some that wish some were not here. [8] I think time will take care of that. You know the old saying, "give a person enough rope, and sooner or later they will hang themself." [:0] [B)] [}:)]

There are many of us who care little about the stars now. Two years ago, stars were more interesting than now. To Mookie, Ed, myself, and others, it just isn't a big deal anymore.

Well I think I am off to bed.

Well, so much for the warm spell- we're supposed to get snow flurries into tomorrow morning. At least the forecast for Saturday and Sunday looks good, sunny and warming back up. I might actually get in some train watching! Woo-hoo!

Boy, I hope so!

Speaking of the great weather (as somebody was), I was able to get out of the house at 5:30 this morning and bike to work, arriving well ahead of my 6:30 class (too dark for the scenic route!). We crammed an eight-hour class into about five hours' time, ignoring the luxuries like a lunch break, etc. So, in the good weather I was able to get the tires pumped up on my bike at the repair shop. Then I saw:

One commuter train as I locked my bike in the rack.
Two freights as I was getting my hair cut.
Three more freights and one more scoot as I was having lunch with Pat at our favorite Italian restaurant.
Two more freights and another scoot before I could get out of Elmhurst (the time between the first scoot and the third should have been one hour).
And two more freights in Lombard, as soon as I could get close to the tracks again.

And now, before I drop from sheer exhaustion, I have to check out all of these interesting freight cars I saw!

It might take some getting used to, but I'm sure you'll find it useful in the end. (I'm not doing it just to make you guys suffer... honest.)

As far as IP addresses go, that's great except for national ISPs where multiple users can share the same IP address over the course of time. Blocking an IP isn't fool proof, unfortunately.

Chris, Those ice formations are like the ones deep in the Lava Beds caves up near the Oregon border.

I went spelunking up at the Lyman caves near Baker Nevada dureing Thanksgiving. I'll send you some pics tommarrow if I remember.

I am just now getting over a major railfan bummer that happened on that trip. I didn't post anything about it till now because just thinking about it made me mad. Anyway I went to visit my bro up in Ely,Nv over thanksgiving week. He is not a railfan but usually tolerates my addiction. Anyway the first couple day we went out exploreing abandon mine shafts. Thats no place for a camera so no pics from there. The next day we went and explored the old ghost town Oseola and then went and checked out the Lyman caves at the foot of Mt. Wheeler. This was a tour guide / group kind of thing (witch I don't like) so I took the camera. I got some good pictures that day. Then things went south. We had taken his girlfriends car and the next day they got into a fight and she took off with my camera. She had to go work at one of the mines and I actually had to stay an extra day to get it back when she came back to town. So then I was left with only my video camera. That I could have lived with. The next day the Nevada Northern was running two trips up to Ruth and back with the just re-built #93 and I had planned on doing some chaseing. That morning I charged up the camcorder and went tocue the tape to the right spot and it ate the tape. I fixed the tape and tried it again and it did the same thing. I went to Radio Shack and got a head cleaner and tried that. No luck. So we did some chaseing and that was cool but [censored] I wanted pictures. And they would have been great as it was a cold 15 degrees out that day and that makes for a much more dramatic show. I did get a few pics from around the shop the day I left but the whole camera situation was a real railfan bummer. But don't get me wrong It was a great trip otherwise as I had not seen my bro in over a year.

Jay,

An Avatar is a small pic that would go where our stars currently reside. Generally speaking, they're usually around 60x60 pixels, or soemthing in that neighborhood. I'll post a couple of mine I have on other fora assuming that PBase (where I stash my photos) starts working sometime in the near future.

Avatar - kind of like the stuff you put in your signature, but it goes under your name. If you look at Bergie's post, the little Trains logo is rather the same thing.

Thanks, Chad. I took that one in Starved Rock State Park on my last trip. Usually that's a pretty neat area to visit in the winter time, since there's usually lots of icefalls. Sadly, with the drought the midwest had this year, only a very few of the icefalls were in place, and most weren't all that spectacular. This is one of the few pix I got.

One of these days I'll actually get an interesting train photo to post down below. You seem to have quite the supply of great train sig. pix. And I still admire your uncanny knack for getting multiple trains in the pic!
