I hope Ed and Aimee are having fun wading through the menu!

Happy anniversary, you two! At least 20, right?

I'm done with the classroom activities for this year. I took one test and got 100 percent on it--my instructor said I was the first one to do that.

Also took his sermon on consist accuracy out into the field and corrected a departing train's wheel before the AEI reader caught it. I don't think anyone will thank me for that, though the guy who would have gotten the blame otherwise should have!

Too busy to go back and look--how did we solve these problems the first time around?

Oooohhhh my achin' head......

I just might have to take some chili tonight, just to clear up my head. I'll take it to go, though, no sense making things worse here.[:-^]

I see we had another barbeque this morning, and I'm going to stay silent on it. The dark alley offer is still open, though.[}:)][}:)]

Off to get more rest again, see everyone later.

EDIT: Almost forgot, happy anniversary ED and Aimee!!!!!!

As we enter the weekend I would like everyone to drop whatever nonsense has occured during this week and ask that we all be a little more civil to one another.

Thank you, and have a great weekend. Especially you, Ed. Happy Anniversary!

Oh, I like beans in my chili all right, much to the consternation of the better half. I'm even game at trying the five-alarm stuff, although my doctor has kinda put the brakes on that sort of activity lately.[:(]

Here in the diner, though, bring it on!

Well, Elvis and Mr. Bed seem to have left the building and Bergie is out there somewhere, so I will do likewise and leave the building.

See you all next Tuesday - another forced vacation - and we will continue this really intriguing situation......... what's to eat!

Tree - they are getting "wired!" And I am not sure I could even sneak up on your chili! I am used to pablum, so.....

Quentin - We see "foreign" power through here occasionally - in fact last weekend it was to KCS with no BNSF on it anywhere. And a lot of time they are on the point. We even had two UP engines that make a regular trek through our yard.

If nothing else, we do have variety!

Well, Ed and Aimee are headed elsewhere for dinner (Congrats, by the way!), but we can have something resembling Mexican here tonight. Haven't seen CW (although I might not have gone back enough pages), so picked up some hard corn and soft flour tortillas, grilled up some peppers, onions, steak and chicken, grated up lots of cheese, chopped up some lettuce and tomatoes, and the frito frijoles and shredded beef are heating up on the stove. If you find the fixings for your favorite Mexican dish, have at it! (Hot sauces are available for those who wi***o partake. Let us know so we can turn the exhaust fan up.)

As for our resident curmudgeon, well.....

Good candidate (Brian) for Cincinnati Greek Chili , Mooks. (3-Way, 4 or 5-Way would do him in! http://www.skylinechili.com/)....Food Channel recently did a comparison on Cincinnati Chili, Texas Chili and what the rest of the world calls Chili - kinda interesting & BossHen controlled the remote)[sigh]

Won't even get into the suspicious brown stuff that Nebraska and Kansas call Mexican Food! [xx(][xx(][xx(]

Dan: Will you please ask dumberthanapost if he's off his medication again, PLEASE?

Hey Ed, I should bring my favorite tostada dip into the diner some time- it's a very simple recipe, too! Just combine 1 lb. hamburger (browned and drained) with 1 lb. Velveeta cheese and one can Hormel Chili w/no beans in a crock pot. Once I get started on that stuff, I have a hard time quitting.

I never made the connection until now, but I think spbed might be Ralph Wiggum from The Simpsons. Let me give an example:

Ralph Wiggum-" Me fail English? Thats unpossible"

spbed-"Talking about RRs is food is not & just because you have doing this for several years does not make any more right then then now to discuss other the RRs in a RR forum. "

How could I have missed that before? It certainly would explain a lot.

Ralph, er spbed, have you been eating your paste again?

Mike

No - no mistake. We have been eating in this diner for a long time. Such a kidder - you know that diners are for food and social conversation. And you must admit, even I engage in a little train conversation along with other conversation.

I would rather have a tiara than a medal, but will take whatever is offered.

Isn't socialization fun?

No idea. I don't speak babble. [}:)]

So macaroni boy...get bored of having conversations with yourself, so you had to come back here to stir things up again to get some attention? Or was the daily up/down status of the Rochelle web cam starting to take it's toll on you? Are you just a grump old dude that can't stand folks entertaining themselves or a snotty kid just stirring things up because you can???? What gives with you....Like Chad said....your village needs you back.

You don't want food or chit chat in the diner. What would you like to see in the diner? More train talk? And that makes it different from the regular forum, how?

I don't want to e-mail each person I have contact with on the forum. We can exchange pleasantries that never extend into a conversation one-on-one. The diner is the place we do this. Now you don't like that. Just exactly what do you want to see. Please detail!

I would really like to see some serious answers to serious questions.

And, as a added bonus, every time you post one of your mangled attempts at the english language, you bring this post back to the top, where even more folks will notice it and enjoy!
Thanks,
and please keep up the fine work and outstanding work!
