CW, you thought it was Monday morning when you woke up this morning?? That's funny, but you're not alone, the same sort of thing has happened to me at least once.

Right now we have 27 degrees here in Sioux Falls, and I am getting ready to go in and work for my other part-time employer, Howes Oil Company, I'll spend about six or seven hours cleaning their office building. I think I will take a couple bear claws along with me and my thermos bottle of coffee. CW, thanks much for serving breakfast this morning!

Good Sunday morning everyone.  Slept so good last night, that when I woke up, I was thinking it was Monday morning. Blush  Guess I slept too good?

Coffee, juices, hot chocolate, hot cider and hot water for tea are ready.

On the warmer bar this morning:  bagels, bear claws, cinnamon rolls, pecan rolls, and doughnuts of various kinds, including chocolate covered, cream filled long johns.  (Got a little bit wet, coming in from the bakery.)  Yep, we're still getting some light rain in our area.

There was a tornado that touched down in southwestern KY last night, in the little town of Corydon, KY.  Fortunately, no injuries or deaths reported.

Our temp's at 43 degrees this morning, and will stay there.  They did say, though, we maybe we'll reach 44 by about 5 p.m.  Going to be quite breezy, with winds gusting to about 35 mph.

Everyone have a good morning, take care, and I'll see you all later on, and I'll have the Sunday Dinner menu ready.

Nope, I hold a scheduled (Well, pool service manifest) job.

Joe, thanks for taking care of our pizza fest for tonight:  been so busy around here, that I am just now getting back in here.

Brian, we are having thunder storms as I type.  We've gotten plenty of thunder and lightning, and it is pouring outside right now.  As a matter of fact, we're under a tornado watch until 10 p.m. EDT.  Think I'd rather have the t-storms, and not a tornado, though!!

Everyone have a good evening, and please take care!!!!

Well, on a cheerier note - the robins are up, the croci/jonquils are blooming a little - saw some tulips and....the Driver's favorite floral - forsythia - is blooming!!!  (He has a lisp and this always gives me something to smile about.)

But it is cold - with a strong north wind and while sunny and warm on south side of house - it is raw on other 3 sides!

BNSF was running coal heading south only.  Saw one local for freight.  Otherwise very quiet.  Went shopping and saw an MT coal train coming from the south heading into the yards.  Even the yards were pretty quiet when we went by (no parking anywhere).  They were working with a crane on the RIP track, something we don't get to see usually.

Must drop Willy a note and congratulate him on the "wife and kids."  He better own that Arby's before anything like that happens!  Big Smile

At last, I got into the Cafe! I kept getting the "Unhandled Error" message...

I just didn't have time to get to the home improvement store to get a new handle for the door.  Sorry about that!   Smile,Wink, & Grin

Thanks, Larry, I know we can be so pressed for time that we simply cannot do everything that needs to be done. It's good you were able get it done at last so Mutt and Paula could get out and we could get in. Smile

Thanks for the breakfast, Paula.

It's in the high thirties, with sunshine, here this morning--but the wind from the south that is sweeping the valley for the next storm is COLD. The last two storms left plenty of snow in the mountains (and on the Front Range, too), though we got very little out here. The next storm (tomorrow morning) may do the same.

I just caught on to your replacement for the unhandled door. Does anybody know who is supposed to handle the errors so they do not bother us poor innocent door knockers?

Good Morning Diners!

Beautiful day here in Alamo City...Sunny and currently 54 degrees.  We got some much needed rain here a couple days ago.  Not a drought buster but we'll gladly take it.

Enjoy your Saturday!

Good morning Ladies and Gents,

Writing to say hello from the computer in our hotel. Laying over on required rest, and just not tired yet. Stress is getting to me already, from the uncertainty that I face.

Reading the forums helps, excepts it reminds me of my job Angry

Homemade buttermilk buiscuts?? YUM!! Tongue Thanks CW!!

We have 19 degrees here in Sioux Falls, and our temp is supposed to top out at 41 this afternoon. Overall, it's supposed to be a pretty nice day here.

A blizzard hit the Denver, Colorado region within the last couple days, and it forced the Colorado Railroad Museum to shut down, but I guess they are planning on re-opening today. On my next trip to Colorado I will have to try to work in a trip to that museum, it's been a long time since I was last there.

I hope the rest of you out there are all having a good day!

Good Saturday morning, everyone.  We've got a temp in the upper 40s this morning, and so far, no rain yet.  They say we'll have some rain arriving in a little bit, though.  And chances of light rain, with a slight risk of some severe storms.  Then tomorrow, our high will only be in the low to mid 40s.  Guess we'll wait and see what comes in or doesn't, as far as the rain is concerned.

Coffee, juices, hot cider, hot chocolate and hot water for tea are ready.

On the warmer bar this morning:  cinnamon rolls with cinnabon cinnamon.  Thought I'd give you all a treat this morning, along with the regular Saturday brunch of:  turkey bacon, sausage links & patties, scrambled eggs, hash browns, tater tots, country fried ham w/red-eye gravy, homemade buttermilk biscuits, sausage gravy, grits and toast.  A wide assortment this morning, so help yourselves and enjoy.

Everyone have a very good day, and I'll definitely be back in, in time to get the pizzas ready for tonight.

At last, I got into the Cafe! I kept getting the "Unhandled Error" message, and I was beginning to wonder if the Cafe had been raided and shut down. Or, was it closed for remodeling?Smile

We expect warmer weather tomorrow--but Sunday morning another storm will move in. Thursday's storm did not leave much snow out here--maybe it will cover Mudchicken up. It did improve March's snow/waterfall, so we may not have to skip baths this summer. I feel for those wh live along the Red River of the North.

Looks like I might start to spend a little more time in here if the price is just right on the food...

Just got news that I'm getting furloughed... Seriously thinking about turning in to the US Military while these times are tough.

Think I'll grab the cider and go molt in a drum of Ben-Gay....amazing how every year people have to get re-educated regarding what happens to "baloney skins" in the snow. Lotsa people last night and today spinning tires and getting nowhere.

At least our snow deficit for the year got cut by a third.

55 degrees and dry here now at 11:30.  Terrible conditons northwest of us in the Dakotas.  And now bad stormy weather mess is passing from west to east, but south of us....along the southern states and ranging up to the southern tip of Indiana.  So far, it seems we're not in the range of any of it.  My thanks for that.

sorry we missed you in Muncie.we also missed the depot being open by 10 minutes

Joe, it sounds like you at least did get to eyeball the depot and it's surroundings.  Sorry you missed it being open to peek inside.  I even have a RR lantern on display in it along with other items the people there have set up.  It really is nice.

I hope you did get my PM.   And sorry we were not avail.

We do have several areas along the Black River valley that are subject to flooding on a fairly regular basis.

The immediate area around my house isn't one of them (and it's not on the Black) - it would take a very significant event to bring the creek near me up to where it would threaten my house.  There is a falls of about 15 feet near the house, and the lower portion of that is pretty much at the level of Lake Ontario.  If that comes up 20-25 feet, my house will be the least of our problems.

I do occasionally have runoff issues, but I'm getting them straightened out, too.   Our thaw this spring has been fairly gradual, so thus far there haven't been any extraordinary problems.  There is still a little snow at the headwaters of the Black, and along the flanks of Tug Hill.  My snow is all gone.

Fog. Sleepy

But they're promising sun later!  Cool

Tea's ready.

Larry, you can be glad you and others in your community are not having to fill and stack sand bags, like the people in Fargo, North Dakota. I have a friend who lives up in Aberdeen, South Dakota, and Aberdeen is now experiencing some flooding, although I have yet to find out just how extensive it is. I live barely a block from the Big Sioux River and I know that the same thing could happen here.
