Get Well -
Ray, Roy and anyone else who has helped with the cooking today, THANK YOU!! Yes, as Mutt said earlier, I did go to the doctor this morning. When I called about trying to get in sometime today, the receptionist heard me coughing, and told me to get over there immediately.
And yes, I always wash my hands with warm water and soap, and always using a hand sanitizer.
I came home with a presciption for amoxicillen and a prescription for a cough syrup. And immediately went to catch a bus to go get the prescriptions filled.
So far, I've only taken one dose of each med; not due again until 10 p.m. If it weren't for that, think I'm ready to go to bed right now.
You all have a good evening, stay warm and take care. Hopefully, I'll feel like making another appearance sometime tomorrow morning.
Dude! - 'Bout time you popped up!
Chris
welcome back.I grabbed some leftovers for work tonight.Time to get ready for work.

Good Afternoon All,
Sorry I've been kinda sparse around here. 'Tis the time of year when I'm constantly behind a viefinder shooting basketball photos. I even moved up to shooting NCAA Div. 2 stuff this year in addition to the high school stuff I do.
Alas, because of that, I haven't been out shooting trains in a long time. I had designs to be out Sunday morning on the Moffat Line. The weather had other ideas, unfortunately. How is it possible in a place that gets 300+ days of sunshine that I pick one of the rare ones with complete overcast? Ugh.
Anyways, here's a sample of the basketball stuff I've been doing.
Thankfully, basketball season is drawing to a close, and I should be able to get out and get some train shots.
I hope you're all doing well!

locomutt Larry, is that area of Chesapeake Bay one of the places that generally doesn't get much, or any snow during the Winter Season? If that's the case, things won't be "moving" for awhile; they'll be about like our area, and not have enough snow moving equipment available.
That's just outside DC - which is also closed today. They don't usually get much snow.
Paula, I hope you have gotten in to see your doctor, despite all the other people who are afflicted. In January, I had a morning appointment for my annual checkup--and their system had lost it. They were able to work me in in the afternoon. Since I had gone over without breakfast, blood samples were taken in the morning, so my fasting was not for nothing.
Thanks for the breakfast.
Johnny
OK guys,
I'm a bit on the mend, so Miss Lynda and I have brought out some of our Veggie Soup (My Mothers recipe) and some corn bread served with you choice of buttermilk or sweet milk depending on your persuasion.
Not quite what Paula had in mind, but what we could do on short notice.
Eat Well,
Well, CW got back from the Dr.; She has a case of the .......FLU.
A Newer Strain, not covered with regular Flu Shot; (which she got at
the end of last year) so now she has a few antibiotics to take.

Ray, Where's that Pot of Chili?! I'm ready for it.
Being Crazy, keeps you from going "INSANE" !! "The light at the end of the tunnel, has been turned off due to budget cuts" NOT AFRAID A Vet., and PROUD OF IT!!
Per a text from my son this morning, the western shore of Chesapeake Bay got 10+ inches of snow overnight. Nothing is moving...
I brought in a pan of cinnamon rolls to go along with the bagels and bear claws that Paula has provided, and they are still warm, fresh out of the oven.
Since Paula is not feeling very well, I will take charge of serving lunch this afternoon. I've got a pot of chili on the stove right now and it should be ready to serve by 12:00 noon. There will also be roast beef sandwiches to go with the chili.
I for one hope that Paula is able to see her Dr. this afternoon. He will probably prescribe some antibiotics for her. I'm listening to one of our local radio broadcasters here at home in Sioux Falls and there is SOMETHING going around. I make sure I wash my hands several times while I am working at Wendy's, I guess that's my best defense against the common cold.
I hope the rest of you out there all have a good day, stay warm & Safe!
Ray ooo ooo ooOOOOOo
Snow on the ground here in Winston-Salem, about 3 to 4 inches of the wet variety, fell overnight. Temp at about 23 and rising. Looks to be a clear day with some (hopefully a lot) of melting. Last day to stay home under the doctors orders.
Stay warm and safe,
good morning
nice sunshine this morning but cold.not going to be very warm today.NYC and Boston enjoy the snow!!
Cw thanks for breakfast.hope you feel better soon.Time for a nap.
I hope you get a good report from the dr, Paula. It's no fun when the honking and snorting starts. Been there done that. 34 degrees and overcast in Carolina an hour after sunrise. We were supposed to get an inch or so of snow, but no joy. Radar sez that no precipitaion of any kind going on in the state. Everybody take care and stay warm.
Cw - hope you get to feeling better. Used my allergy eyedrops this morning and whole head feels a little better. My nose runs and my feet smell year round.
East coast residents......did you get the snow I sent you. We took our part (about 3 inches) and sent it on to you. Now you can go out and make snow angels for fun!
Off to explore the world.

Good morning, everyone. Sorry about not being around much yesterday. I was too busy coughing, sneezing, and running a slight temp. Going to call the dr.'s office at 9:00, when they open, and see if I can't get in to see him today, and see what's going on here. I know that there are several things going around right now, especially with children: flu, strep (a couple of my great nephews have had strep), and something called enterillis (sp?) , which is like the flu, without the vomiting and fever.
Coffee, juices, hot chocolate and hot water for tea are ready. And there's bagels and bear claws on the warmer bar for breakfast.
Hopefully, I'll be back in later on this afternoon.
Thanks for the supper, Paula. I took some of the chocolate pie and some of the pecan pie. Ricki took some white cake (her favorite) with coconut icing (superior to Pepperidge Farms' cake). I was introduced to chocolate pie in college, where we could get a variety of five cent folded-over pies in the college bookstore (we bought our textbooks there, too). The bookstore was called both "the Beehive" and "the PX." Even in the fifties, some of the students did not believe that "PX" was the abbreviation of "post exchange."
It looks as though there is more global warming fallout coming down in the South. We expect precipitation towards the end of the week, which may keep us home (Ricki does not want to go out in rain or snow unless she has to).
Just got a call from my son in Maryland. It's snowing there, quite heavily. Forecast is for up to ten inches.
I'm listening to the scanner there (via the web). A lot of people are probably wishing they'd stayed home. I think I've heard 40 reports of cars off the road since he called. And that's just the ones the cops are talking about. They keep discovering more on their way to investigate those that have been reported.
Fortunately, I'm not hearing anything serious - just cars in the ditch and into guardrails.
Paula:
Is there any Peach Cobbler left???

Good Afternoon:
Overcast, rain, sleet and cold describes Winston-Salem today. Wet and Sloppy is the more appropriate term with more tomorrow. This looks a bit like moving day Miss Paula, Lunch was good however, the desert was one of my great weaknesses, Peach Cobbler like my Grand Mary made.
Place looks great
Larry, knew it was time, so I started this new one first thing this morning. Now, just waiting for Bergie to lock the old one.
Listed below is the menu for our Sunday Dinner today (listing it a little bit early):
Beef sirloin roast w/potatoes and carrots, beef gravy, homemade buttermilk biscuits, green beans, creamed corn, cole slaw.
Desserts today: yellow cake w/chocolate icing, white cake w/coconut icing, chocolate pie, pecan pie, and the following cobblers: apple, blueberry, cherry, peach and strawberry/rhubarb.
Everyone enjoy your dinner and your afternoon. Take care.
Hmmmmm. Just discovered that we have two concurrent editions of the "diner" running.
What's up with that?
We're into March and heading for Spring. Bright sunshine here today and rather cold....a bit below normal, but warm up coming later in the week.
Quentin

Good morning Paula and all who are up this early. It is 4:30 AM in AZ and I have been up and about since 3:00.
I shall have the scrambled eggs, sausage, coffee and a pancake and then go about my duties. I will be going to Phoenix later today to see friends and attend a spring training baseball game. Temperature in Phoenix will be in the mid-eighties and bright sunshine so a hat will be in order. Have a great day friends.
Good Sunday morning, and welcome to the New Edition of the Flat Wheel Cafe. We have a current temp of 25 degrees this morning, and I have finally heard the wind die down some. Kept hearing a pine branch hit the bedroom window all night long.
Coffee, juices, hot chocolate and hot water for tea are ready. (Yeah, I've been awake for awhile.)
On the warmer bar this morning: turkey bacon, sausage links & patties, hash brown potatoes, scrambled eggs, and pancakes w/plenty of maple syrup.
Everyone have a good morning, and I'll see you all in a little bit.
