Who would be at fault is a good question. Methinks it would be the state for putting a bridge there....

Deshler Ohio-crossroads of the B&O Matt eats your fries.YUM! Clinton st viaduct undefeated against too tall trucks!!!(voted to be called the "Clinton St. can opener").
Good Tuesday morning, everyone. Nice out this morning, with a current temp of 51 degrees. But there's some rain coming in from the south. Supposed to have scattered showers today, then clear tomorrow, possibility of more scattered showers about every other day for the rest of the week.
Coffee, juices, hot chocolate, hot cider and hot water for tea are ready.
On the warmer bar this morning: bagels, bear claws, turkey bacon, sausage links & patties, hash browns, scrambled eggs, homemade buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy, oatmeal, toast, or you can have a bowl of cereal. There is a fairly large selection of cereal boxes on the counter for you to chose from.
There's no one out front yet, for Tuesday Produce. Uh, OOPS: the sisters just pulled up. Heard a noise, and looked out the window.
You all enjoy your breakfast, and have a good morning. I'll be back after I'm through with Produce.
spokyoneA train has hit a highway viaduct in Moline IL, causing slight damage to support beams. Trucks heavier than 5 tons will not be allowed to cross the viaduct until a complete inspection is conducted.
Hmmm, sounds like at least one well car had 'em stacked alittle too high...
Was that on the IAIS?
Brian (IA) http://blhanel.rrpicturearchives.net.
Well, made it to the place for my appointment. They traced the outline of my foot, then made a cast of my ankle and foot. When I go back in two weeks for a fitting, I'll have to remember to take a picture of the cast, so you all who haven't met me, can see how little my feet are actually!! And it looks like one of my co-insurance holders will pay for the ankle/arch support system.
I hope you all have had a very good day, and enjoyed your supper. I'll say good night, and then go to the kitchen, and get the supper dishes washed up.
Hey Joe. I knew it would happen some day. A train has hit a highway viaduct in Moline IL, causing slight damage to support beams. Trucks heavier than 5 tons will not be allowed to cross the viaduct until a complete inspection is conducted.Details were not revealed. The local news clip shows containers strewn about.
zardozEver notice how everyone describes the sound of a tornado by comparing it with the sound of a train.....but nobody describes the sound of a train by comparing it with a tornado?
That would be a good thing, actually, as it means that many more people have heard trains than have heard tornados.....
But you are right...

grampaw pettibone We had a tornado come through the yard on July 3, 1977, a date which will live in infamy. It took out 7 trees and my tower. Sounded like a half dozen SD60s trying to start a coal drag

Methinks we will require the Denver weatherliars to take a drug test. We got more than just a dusting this morning.
Larry, wish I had noticed that on the weather channel. That sounds like it would have been very interesting as well as educational to watch.
Not sure what our current temp is, but do know we're supposed to get up into the low 60s for a high today.
Leftovers from yesterday (Mutt's spaghetti cassereole and soup & cornbread) are heated and on the warmer bar.
Hopefully, when I go to this place, I'm not going to hear an exorbitant price for these arch supports. I know adult sizes on these run around $300 dollars. Kid sizes shouldn't cost that much, surely to goodness! If they do, I'm gonna figure out something else, in case my insurance decides on not covering the cost.
You all take care, and have a good afternoon.
A nice bright, sunny morning here but on the cool side...38. Did have some light rain thru here yesterday and late afternoon actually saw a few {2 or 3}, snow flakes. That's as far as that foolishness went...Thankfully.
Today, we're to get into the mid 50's and I'm waiting for that bit of warmer stuff to apply and then out comes the lawn tractor. First though check air in tires maybe lube the fittings and we're ready. oil and filter change a bit later.
Wish a good week for all.
Edit: And now later in the day....actually evening: The first lawn mowing has been accomplished. Doesn't look too bad.

I didn't watch the entire report, but The Weather Channel had a bit on this past weekend about a family who's had their home destroyed three times by tornados over the years - in exactly the same spot. I think I'd be moving...
The funny part is that the county (in one of the Carolinas) they live in has only had about 18 tornados over that span of time.
Good morning. 47 degrees and sunshine in Carolina. We had a windy and stormy weekend with high winds, lightning, very heavy rain and a nearby tornado. I don't thnk there was any damage, but it showed on radar. We had a tornado come through the yard on July 3, 1977, a date which will live in infamy. It took out 7 trees and my tower. Sounded like a half dozen SD60s trying to start a coal drag.... Nevermore quoth Grampaw. Everybody take care
'Tis a fine Monday morning. Although it is cloudy and cool, with a chance of rain and snow today. At least my name isn't in the obits....
Got a visitor coming in at work today to finish what the last visitor couldn't last week. Turned out to be one of those simple jobs where every single step was challenged by some sort of issue.
Just remembered that the furnace guy is supposed to be at the house on Friday. It's my regular day off, so hopefully my new visitor will be done and gone by then.
I've got my bearclaw, and the tea's a-brewin'.
morning
umm leftovers sound good CW.matt is on time and back to school.work was still where it was when I left.Time for a nap.have some chores to do this afternoon after matt gets home.
Good Monday morning, everyone. I hope you all had a good weekend.
Justin, you're going back to school today, and our schools are starting Spring Break today. (Well, guess the kids started celebrating last Friday.) As much as I loved school, I have to admit that I always looked forward to Spring Break.
Coffee, juices, hot chocolate, hot cider, and hot water for tea are all ready.
On the warmer bar this morning: bagels, bear claws, turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, toast, homemade buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy.
Everyone enjoy your breakfast, have a good morning, and I'll be back later. Since I have that appointment later on, I'll be setting lunch out a little bit early today. More than likely, I'll just heat up the leftovers from Sunday Dinner.
Soup was good CW! End of spring break today... Sad. Only 8 weeks of school left though. Mook: That puts a whole new spin on traffic conjestion!
A little bit late, but here is our Sunday Dinner menu:
1. Mutt's spaghetti casserole w/Texas garlic toast, garden salad
2. Vegetable beef soup w/fresh homemade cornbread, or you can have saltines or oyster crackers w/your soup, and grilled cheese sandwiches or PB&J sandwiches
It's been very windy most of the afternoon, with gusts of 35 mph. Took my walk, and when the wind gusted, it just about took me down a couple of times.
ah yes weather.wait 5 minutes in nw ohio you'll hate it more!!! we had sun then sprinkles then sun then snow flurries and wind.saw a few trains today.Cw thanks for finding my container for work.Going to go make sure work is still there.

RJ - that is a riot!
Glad to hear from someone west of us so I know what is going on. They have been playing catch up all day - heard them whistle quite a bit this morning, so know they are moving the coal.
But to offset all that BNSF profit, a coal train blocked a thru street for about an hour waiting to get into the yard. Saw the police car dutifully go and look them over. Couldn't see if he talked to the engineer, cuz I was on the conductors side, but the police car went that direction and about 15 min later came back by us, only to wait for another coal train. Imagine corporate hqs will get the notice in due time. Just stack it with the rest of them!

Mookie, The storm that hit monday closed every major highwayy in the state. Including Highway 59 and I-25 which are the main roads that get people out to the mines, so they closed the mines for saftey for the commuters and the people at work.
And for todays weather, Windy with a little snow. it falls here lands somewhere near Rawlins!
Here is a photo from the Wyoming Windsock (Not mine, found it online)

Out and back with some observations: Sunny 63 - Sez Houston is only 68. HA HA HA! Low humidity both places.
BNSF is storing 6 CEFX lease motors down by our depot. Our guy at our watch site sez they closed some of the mines in Wyoming earlier this week due to weather, so he only saw 1-2 coal trains each day. They are still routing most of our traffic to the south, so must be working on the track east of us somewhere.
No precip for us as of yet. The snow goes either south or north of us. Wonder what our super storm is going to look like when it gets here and when will it get here?
Back to cleaning the popcorn out of the keyboard.....
Thanks Larry, but with Ia. Brian's Heads Up and the NWS
Radio, we seemed to be prepared. ( that and the storm either
Zigged or Zagged to the South before it got here.)
Looks like we got about 3/4 of an inch of rain along with
some very strong winds; at least We didn't have any damage,
this time.
Being Crazy, keeps you from going "INSANE" !! "The light at the end of the tunnel, has been turned off due to budget cuts" NOT AFRAID A Vet., and PROUD OF IT!!
Wet, but only a quarter inch of rain so far. We'll see if the thunderbumpers they've promised us for this afternoon show up.
Tried to get on last night to warn CW and Mutt to duck, but the handle was acting up again.
Got stuff to do today. Unfortunately, even though I got a good night's sleep, the recliner felt sooo good this morning that I'm already behind (so why am I sitting here in the diner?!?!?!?)
Back to the print shop.
Good morning all:
Picture perfect day here today. Temp currently 63...expected high of 82. Amarillo which had blizzard conditions on Friday will be 67 and sunny today.
Enjoy your Sunday everyone!
.....Overcast and at times the sun is breaking thru....temp around 44 now. Rain overnight but dry now. looks like we're missing all the nasty stuff around in all directions. To be sunny tomorrow and warmer and that means the first mowing. Off to church now including we have graddaughter with us this morning as well. Spring break, and she'll spend a few days with us.
