grampaw pettiboneHow about some beef stroganoff for supper?
Tom, your suggestion is a good one. So, I'm fixing beef stroganoff for supper. We'll also have mixed vegetables (corn, beans, peas, carrots, etc.) along with mashed taters w/brown gravy, and how about some nice dinner rolls or creasant rolls to go with everything.
Luckily for us, we had an extra DSL modem in the house: our old one "bit the dust" this morning. Now we are back up and running.
Not sure what our current temp is, but do know we got down in the upper 40s this morning. When I originally got up at 5 a.m., our temp was right at 50 degrees.
You all enjoy your meal, and have a good afternoon and evening.
Ms Mook's 5:30 is my 6:30 and I'm just getting ready for work then. Plus, I had a meeting to attend this morning, and my computer didn't want to work, either. Sheesh.
It's just me and the dogs, so the laundry doesn't get very big since the dogs don't have any at all (a couple of towels and a blanket notwithstanding). Now if I could get them to help with the vacuuming (since they're the primary reason I have to vacuum).
Tomorrow is my regular day off (then comes the weekend - whee!). I've got a full schedule.

A little cooler (low of forty, with the temperature at thirty-eight at 6:45 New Orleans time) this morning than earlier this week. Good walking weather. Some of the hyacinths are open, and the others look to be ready to burst forth.
Paula, thanks for the sausage and biscuits.

Weather during day not much different - 50's. But I am noticing that at night, it is warmer overnite here in the upstairs. Seems to be more humidity. Been sleeping with less covers and overhead fan on low. Ah Spring.....
Joe/CW/Mutt - Prez picked Loo-ville to go pretty much all the way and then the Tarheels. Maybe LV can prove him wrong.

Good Thursday morning, everyone. At 6:11 a.m., we have a temp of 50 degrees, with light rain. Our high today is to be only in the mid 50s, with the skies clearing some this afternoon.
Coffee, juices, hot water for tea and hot chocolate are ready.
On the warmer bar this morning: bagels, bear claws, turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled egged, toast, oatmeal, hash browns, homemade buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy.
Everyone have a good morning, and take care.

I've made more of the three above mentioned menu items, and they are now on the warmer bar, with the exception of the cole slaw and garden salads. Those are in both in the cooler and there's more in the fridge.
You sure can tell it's warming up outside: we are slower than a snail or a turtle in here. But, I hope everyone's been enjoying the weather and the day. You all have a good evening, and take care.

ModelcarMy broken record again.....{Sunshine},....beautiful blue sky and moderate temps this morning.
When I spent a year at a weather station on a South Pacific coral atoll I filled my spare time with a part time job at the little radio station on the island. We gave up on doing weather reports because we all knew it was always the same - high in the low 90's, low around 80, scattered clouds. Day after day after day after day....
Good afternoon, everyone. Looks like we've really been slow in here this morning. So, since patronage is on the low side, here is the lunch menu for today:
And, if you all want, I can repeat this for supper/dinner tonight, or you can let me know if there's something else you all would like to have this evening. Enjoy your lunch, and have a very good afternoon. We currently have a temp of about 64 degrees, and plenty of nice sunshine with a gentle breeze.

My broken record again.....{Sunshine},....beautiful blue sky and moderate temps this morning. Robins fighting with their verticle tirades....Don't know just what that is all about.....Seems that action just started a few years ago.
Weather people say rain possible about 5 this afternoon....No problem. Want to roll my yard anyway, and can't really do that with it too dry as it won't be effective. Certainly hasn't been any snow on it to melt down into it for a month or so.
Stopped by the ex C&O depot, now our Trail Head yesterday at noon to have a bit of lunch in the truck and just watch the city action.....Lots of Trail walkers and bikers and the NS line runs just on the outside of the Trail and got to see a north bound train come past. Surprisingly it had just one engine and it was a {very}, long line of {empty}, auto carriers. I was really surprised to see just one engine doing the job.....
Good Wednesday morning, everyone. After our busy, busy day yesterday, went to sleep about 9:45 last night, and slept until 7:30 this morning. Not sure I moved much through the night, that's how tired I was.
Joe, thanks for getting things started this morning here in the Cafe. The coffee and the doughnuts look really good this morning. And I think I'll pour myself a small glass of orange/tangerine juice this morning.
We've got a temp somewhere in the upper 40s this morning, going for a high in the low to mid 70s for today; then, the rain comes in tonight, could see some thunder boomers, too.
Everyone have a good morning, and if any of you have any meal requests for today, let me know, and I'll get started on it. Take care, you all!!
good morning

blhanel Willy2Only 30 class days left until I graduate from high school and move on to bigger things. I'm trying my best to not catch the dreaded "senioritis". Unfortunately, some of my classmates have already succumbed to it. Care to fill us in on your post-graduation plans? Which institute of higher learning will get the privilege of furthering your education?

That would be Creighton University, right here in Omaha. They have an excellent meteorology program and are also involved with the STEP Program. This program gives juniors and seniors majoring in meteorology the opportunity to intern at the National Weather Service over the summer, presuming that they are performing well enough in college.
I think my parents consider it to be a mixed blessing that I've chosen to attend the most expensive college in Nebraska (even with my $14,000 scholarship, tuition is rather outrageous).
The other option, which I think I've mentioned before, is to just work at Arby's for the rest of my life...

I've just refreshed everything on the warmer bar for supper tonight. And if anyone doesn't want anything "Irish" to eat, there's also some tacos, burritos, Spanish rice, and tortilla chips and whatever salsa, picante sauce or con queso you wish to have.

Produce truck came early this morning (9:11) and brought us apples, onions, potatoes and yellow peppers. (And we had a total of 49 people show up this morning for Produce. Haven't had that many since January!
Willy, welcome back, and I know you're looking forward to graduation coming up!! And, congratulations for a job well done!!
A beautiful sunny morning here.....To be nice and warm today. Sure appears Spring is really taking over.
Sand bags come out of the back of my little pickup today {the one in the Avatar}, as they haven't been needed for some time now. Last measurable snow here was Feb. 21th, and that was just a half inch of the stuff.
