....Boy, end of the week already....Starting with 66 degrees and cloudy.  A bit surprised about the clouds.  Forecast was for another nice day like the last few we've been having so we'll see.

Everybody enjoy TGIF.

Morning everybody. Currently 68 and haze in Carolina at present. There was a coal train derailment, probably CSX, in Conway yesterday. Apparently several cars on their sides but news is sparse as yet. CW, thanks for breakfast. I shall have some pancakes and sausage along with some cold grape juice, with my thanks. Everybody stay safe and cool

Good Friday morning, everyone.  Nice, cool morning here, with a temp in the upper 60s to 70 degrees.  Feels very comfortable outside.  Cannonball, we have a center that is about 8 to 10 blocks northwest of us, that I've heard is dropping their open times to the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays instead of weekly.  Maybe that's why our patronage is increasing the last few weeks.

On the breakfast bar this morning:  pancakes, bacon, sausage, doughnuts, danish, bagels and bear claws.  Coffee, teas and juices are also ready to go this morning.

Enjoy your breakfast, folks, and have a good morning.

.....Cannonball:

No, sorry....not any more.  Now if you were scheduled to do your trip back in the 70's, then you would have passed right thru here....Past the Wysor depot and on to the east side of Muncie and on to Richmond, in....about 40 miles southeast.

That route is now a trail...The Cardinal Greenway Trail....The tracks were removd back in '94.  It's the longest rail to trail in Indiana and well used.

It is a beautiful trail now.  About 37 miles of paved walking / bike trail. When finished, it will be about 60 miles of pavement for walking and biking.

Your Cardinal will bring you south out of Chicago and down thru Lafayette, In. and on down south to Indy and then southeast to Cinncinatti.

Hi Mookie!  So glad you were able to make it in here this morning, along with Tom, Joe and Quentin!!

Got some sandwiches fixed for lunch:  open-face roast beef w/mashed taters, gravy, homemade biscuits, slaw, garden salads, sliced tomatoes, cottage cheese, tuna salad sandwiches, ham & cheese, turkey and cheddar cheese sandwiches, etc.

Also have going in the Crock Pot for supper tonight:  pork chop abracadbra w/potatoes, and will have broccoli, cauliflower and carrots to go with the pork chops.  Should be ready to transfer from the Crock Pot around 6:30 for supper tonight.

Has anyone heard anything from Kozzie lately?  I know it's been quite awhile since I've heard from him.  Must be really busy at work.  And has anyone heard anything from Dan Harmon lately?

Good Thursday morning to one and all.  Very pleasant morning in the Bluegrass State:  temp is in the mid 60s.  Our high yesterday was 84, and may reach 86 today.  I'm really liking these temps, but know not to get used to them, with August approaching us very quickly.  Before you know it,  all the kiddos will be back in school, and the next thing you'll know it will be Christmas and the new year.

Coffee, teas and juices are ready, and on the warmer bar:  turkey bacon, pork sausage, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, toast, rice, or there's cold cereal if you'd rather have that.

You all have a good morning, and where's the cat?!?!  Haven't seen her around here for a couple of days.   Guess it's time to take roll call again.

Some folks have to work, some are on vacation - it is August, so I'm not really surprised it's quiet.

Looks like our patron count is on the very light side today.  Good thing I only put out cold cuts for lunch, isn't it?  Hopefully, we'll have a better count this afternoon, and into the evening hours.

You will find on the warmer bar:

Italian spaghetti w/your choice of garden salad or Caesar salad, Italian breadsticks and Italian bread, oven-roasted red potatoes.

Desserts:  your choice of strawberry shortcake w/plenty of real whipped cream, and there's still quite a bit of strawberry ice cream left; and yellow cake w/chocolate icing.

....We're starting out with 64 degrees....and the windows have just been opened.  Should be nice with lower humidity.

My truck is in need of servicing too....must make an appointment....and a trip to the barber shop is in order too.

Yard mowing either today or tomorrow....Let's see, tomorrow it will be 4 days since the last cutting so perhaps we'll wait to tomorrow.

Bright sunshine here.  Looks like a nice summer day.

In for breakfast, the a long day of finishing up the guest room (more or less), servicing the truck, and generally making the house ready for company (a tall order if you saw my house).

Matt - welcome aboard.  In answer to your questions - yes this is one long OT thread.  The "Trackside Lounge" is also a rambling thread, but tends to stay a little closer to railroading.  If it has a theme, I'd have to call it photography.

I play guitar (6 and 12 string) and a little banjo.  I tend to stick with folk and folk-rock.

Bearclaw, tea, and off to the tasks at hand.

Good Wednesday morning, and Matt, welcome to the Flatwheel Cafe!  As Mutt and Tom said, just about any topic is discussed in here, from the weather, trains, and anything else you want to talk about.  Mookie is the cat, and I'm the main cook around here.  But, if you have any cooking specialties, you are welcome to fix them around here.

Coffee, juices and teas are all ready to go this morning.  Got some breakfast on the breakfast bar.

Are any of our friends around here in Dolly's path (and I don't mean Dolly Partin, either!)? Wink [;)]Big Smile [:D]

Our temp is in the upper 60s to low 70s this morning, looking for a high in the mid 80s today.  Looks like it's going to be a very pleasant day!!

I have replenished everything on the warmer bar for Chinese food night.  Hope you all enjoy, and have a great evening.

Hmm, looks like things have been slow in here this morning.  Well, we had 96 people for TUESDAY PRODUCE.  Today, they brought:  sweet potatoes, lettuce, broccoli, and mini carrots sticks.

The menu for the rest of the day:  Chinese.  On today's menu:

1.  Moo Goo Gai Pan
2.  Kung Po Chicken
3.  Sweet & Sour Shrimp
4.  Pepper Steak
5.  Boneless Spare Ribs
6.  Chicken W/Broccoli

Think I'm going to go take my walk, before the next round of thunderstorms comes in.  With the metal in my knee, I do not want to be caught outside when it's lightning.  Everyone have a good afternoon, and take care.
